《Here》Chapter Seven

I woke up in an unfamiliar room. I raised slowly, pushing a thick soft blanket off of me to find that my right ankle had a thick metal chain on it.
I blinked, trying to regain my memory.
Slowly it came back. Instead of the muddy t-shirt I was wearing, in its place I had on a black nike sports bra with matching high underwear.
They fit me perfectly, but I have never seen them before in my life.
A decent sized white bandage was on my right upper side. I pulled at the tape covering it and pulled the bandage off. There no longer was a nasty bloody wound, it was starting to heal.
"We will have to put another bandage on you now." A deep voice randomly said.
I jumped, not expecting it. I looked up to see a man leaning against the door frame of the room. Everything came back as I remembered the man who took me.
The man who killed my aunt.
I flew backwards in panic, holding the blanket up to cover my body.
"I've already seen everything love. How do you think you got that bra and underwear on that you wasn't wearing?"
I frowned knowing he was right.
"Still." I replied, avoiding eye contact and wrapping my arms around my body, grimacing when I touched my side.
He clucked his tongue in disapproval and walked to the nightstand beside the bed, taking a first aid kit out and opening it. He pulled out a Band-aid much like the one I pulled off of my side and came close to me.
I leaned away and went to move backwards but he pulled me back towards him by tugging on the chain with one strong arm.
I gasped as I flew towards him.
He undid my chain.
"Calm down. I'm only fixing your bandage. Don't want you in bad shape again." He said, lifting my arms off of my side and pushing me down on my back.
I went to raise back up but he pushed me down again, placing his knee in between my legs and placing my arms over my head again.
I refrained myself from raising up again and just left them above my head.
He began placing the bandage on. I felt butterflies as he lightly touched my side. I locked my jaw and tried to refrain myself from making any noise.
"I didn't know you were ticklish kitten, it's cute." He said, grinning while hovering over me. Being this close to him led to me noticing a scar going down to his neck again.

I glared at him.
"That's probably because you don't know me." I whispered under my breath while pushing at his chest for him to get off.
He raised his eyebrows at me.
"Ouch." He replied, smirking.
"Since you don't know me, you might as well know that I'm not ticklish, I just don't like being touched." I muttered.
He raised his eyebrows. Realizing that he was probably going to tickle me if I stayed in denial, I gave in not wanting him to touch me anymore than he already has.
"Okay, I'm ticklish. You got me. Now get off." I growled, pushing at his muscular chest again.
He didn't budge.
His dark brown eyes raked over my body, and at our close proximity with his knee separating my thighs.
He leaned forward, placing his head beside my ear, his warm breath spreading out over my neck. A slight blush covered my cheek along with chill bumps popping up on my skin due to how close we were.
"I could fuck you right now." He murmured.
I frowned at his unexpected nasty words.
"You are disgusting, get off of me." I spat.
He leaned in closer to my neck and started kissing it gently. His warm breath tickled my neck and though I would never admit it out loud, it felt good.
"Please stop." I begged, struggling against his body weight, scared of what this would lead to.
Surprisingly he pushed himself off of me. He got off the bed and left the room.
He left the room?
I took a deep breath, trying to recover from what had just happened.
My hormones need to freaking chill out. I don't care how beautiful this man is, he took me. He STOLE me from my life, not giving me an option.
He killed my aunt.
Without a doubt, if this man hadn't kidnapped me and had tried to get with me like a normal person I would have agreed eagerly.
But he stole me from being free. I was almost free. I'm going to be 18 soon and I've been waiting my whole life to be, he can't take that away from me. I won't let him.
I need out of here.
I pushed myself off of the bed and stumbled to the door, still weak from whatever he had induced me with.
I twisted the door knob, cheering silently when it actually twisted and the door opened.
I paused.
Why would he leave it unlocked?

Maybe he just forgot.
I slipped out of the door and silently shut it behind me. I was in a dimly lit hallway, stairs to my right. They were shaped like an L, not letting me see the bottom.
I took a deep breath and placed my foot on the first hardwood stair.
It groaned slightly beneath my weight.
I bit my lip and waited, expecting him to come out any minute and kill me or something.
Who knows what he would do.
I stepped on the edges of the stairs where people normally don't walk slowly, waiting for a minute when it would make creak.
Once I got to the middle of the L, I peered down the staircase.
At the bottom there was a white carpet floor, a door just in view.
I grinned once I saw the door.
Yes.
I quickly ran down the stairs, no longer caring how much noise I made.
I made it to the door and jerked the cold handle, only to find that it was locked.
I pulled again, harder this time hoping that I was just mistaken, but the door never budged. No. It was definitely locked.
There was not lock in sight though?
"Going somewhere without me baby?" He growled in my ear.
I screamed as he wrapped his arms around my waist and flung me towards the stairs.
I landed on my bottom, hard.
That was definitely going to leave a bruise.
I peered up at him in fear. He crossed his arms and put his foot on the stair I was on, propping his elbows on it and coming face to face with me.
"Run now." He growled.
I stared at him in confusion.
He glared daggers at me.
"I won't tell you again babe."
I pulled myself up and headed up the stairs slowly, studying him.
He grinned at me, lifting his arms up as someone would to give another person a hug.
"You got the head start. I'll count to three before I come after you." He said, while winking at me.
"One." He said, his tone more serious now, no smile on his face. He had a dangerous glint in his eye that I didn't like at all.
Oh no.
Fear consumed me as I turned around and ran up the stairs.
"Two."
I was near the top of the stairs now. I could see the room that I had been in, there were more rooms down the long hallway.
"Three!" He growled.
I heard him coming up the stairs, slowly.
This freaked me out even more.
I flung open the door only seeing more rooms. I opened the last door in the hallway to an empty room with a few pieces of furniture in the room.
He was running after me now.
I ran into the room and slammed the door shut, grabbing a random chair and pushing it against the door.
He threw his body against the door violently, screaming at me to open the door.
I started crying, absolutely terrified of what was going to happen to me once he got in that door. I was confused by his actions.
I turned around and observed the room, finding a window. I ran to it and pulled at it only to find that the window would not open. I leaned in closer. Glued shut?
No. Nailed shut. Great.
I scanned the room looking for somewhere to hide.
The door was groaning from the force of his body. I spied a desk in the corner and dived behind it.
The door flung off the hinges and landed on the floor loudly.
"Hide and seek now kitten?" He growled, "If you wanted to play you could have just said so in the beginning." He added.
I covered my mouth, holding my breath.
It was really quiet for a minute. He then grabbed my ankle and pulled me out from my hiding spot.
I screamed in fear.
He straddled me and just sat on my stomach lightly so he wouldn't hurt my side, watching me struggle against him.
"I like it when they are on bottom." He stated, licking his lips.
"Why are you doing this?? Leave me alone." I growled.
He grinned and leaned forward, now holding my wrists tightly.
"You have a lot to learn." He whispered.
He shoved his face on mine and started kissing me roughly.
I caught his lip in between his teeth and bit down roughly, tasting the metallic taste of blood in my mouth.
This earned a hard smack across the face, the sound echoed across the room and was met with silence.
My cheek burned from the hit.
He held my wrists with one hand now. He wiped the blood off of his chin.
"You definitely have a lot to learn."

8 295Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment.
