hell's angel

~*~

The three walked into the old bank that Crowley had told them to meet him at. He was claiming he broke out of Lucifer's grasp and had another Hand of God. Juno hit another cob web out of her way, grimacing at it slightly. They turned around the corner to see Crowley already waiting.

"Nice digs. The Crypt Keeper out of town?" Dean asked as Crowley turned to face them.

"I'm lucky to be alive. Lucifer had me trussed up like a dog in my own palace," Crowley said like they should feel sympathetic for him.

"'Palace'? Oh, you mean the abandoned nuthouse," Dean stated.

"He kept me in a kennel!" Crowley yelled at him. The three hunters smiled in amusement at his struggle. "And he turned all his demons... my demons... against me. They scour the earth, day and night, looking to kill me. He has to be dealt with."

"So is this why you brought us here? Some lousy grudge match with Lucifer?" Juno asked shrugging at him.

"Yeah, where's this, uh, Hand of God you were talking about?" Sam followed up.

"I'm getting to that. Your only hope of subduing Amara is to match the level of power that she possesses," Crowley explained.

"No kidding. And?" Dean asked.

"And I have the Horn of Joshua," Crowley said with a light smirk.

"Joshua? As in the Joshua that won the battle of Jericho?" Sam asked raising an eyebrow.

"And I'm willing to entrust it to your capable hands." Sam, Dean, and Juno all looked at other other skeptically. "What? I just said I'd give you the thing."

"If?" the three asked at the same time.

"Is this how you say 'thank you'? You think these things grow on bloody trees?!" Crowley yelled.

"Cut the crap, Crowley. With you, there's always an 'if'," Dean said stating the obvious.

"Fine. I will give you the Horn 'if' you help me exorcise Lucifer from Castiel's vessel and then return him immediately to the Cage," Crowley said looking between the three.

"Oh, that's all? Huh," Sam said raising his eyebrows.

"Okay. And where is this horn?" Dean asked.

"Safely hidden, naturally," Crowley bragged.

"Crowley, even if we could exorcise Lucifer out of Cas, the Cage is damn near impenetrable. It took a spell from the Book of the Damned to spring Lucifer, and Rowena hid the book," Sam explained, Crowley shrugging lightly.

"And we would need both the book and her to even have a shot," Dean told him.

"Did I say this would be easy? No. I did not," Crowley said looking between them.

"Do you even know where Rowena is? Last time I asked you said she was indisposed," Juno said crossing her arms out.

"Rotting somewhere, I assume. Lucifer snapped her neck," Crowley said tilting his head. "And that wasn't me." Juno's phone started ringing, making her roll her eyes.

"I'll be back in a second," she told them. She walked down the stairs of the abandoned bank, noticing who was calling. She gritted her teeth together, pressing answer. "What do you want?"

"Man, it's so nice to hear your voice after so long. Hey, I'm in the area -- well, not really. How do you like your steak?" Lucifer asked. Juno rolled her eyes as she stepped out of the bank, looking down the street.

"Don't make me repeat the question, Luci," she said shaking her head.

"Aw! You have a pet name for me! Our relationship is progressing so nicely! But, I would like a little help here. You're being a bit hostile and it's making me sad," he told her with a frown.

"Does it sound like I care?" she asked with a shrug.

"Yes, a lot actually," Lucifer answered her.

"You're stalling. It's obvious. What are you up to?" Juno asked looking around.

"Oh, nothing. Just thought I'd check in on my favorite girl," Lucifer said.

"Forgive me if I'm having a hard time believing you right now," Juno said with a scowl. "Now, what do you want? Where are you?"

"You can't really expect me to answer than question," he told her. "But right about now you're going to get attacked, drop your phone, then get transported to Heaven." Juno's eyes widened as she turned around to see an angel swinging at her. She dropped her phone as she ducked, standing up straight again to attack him. She pulled her angel blade out, another angel hit her from behind on her head. Juno stumbled a bit, turning and facing them. She let out a warning scream to Sam and Dean, hoping Crowley would get them out of there. The angels attacked her again, this time knocking her out cold.

Juno woke up in the back of a van, vision blurred as it was pitch black. She sat up quickly, looking around to see if there was any way she could get out. She crawled to the door, kicking it with all her might. It only shot pain up her leg, Juno grabbing it in pain. She sighed, falling back as she realized it wouldn't work. Suddenly, the van came to a stop, Juno falling forward.

"Idiots," she muttered as she brushed her hair out of her face. The doors to the van opened, Juno turned to see the angels from before standing there. She was going to fight them, but they had blades in their hands. They both grabbed her, Juno beginning to struggle. She was dragging her feet, trying to pull herself out of their grip. But, they only threw her into the open gate to Heaven. She landed on the white ground, bringing her head up to see the white walls. She tried scrambling to her feet to run, but two arms grabbed her.

"Don't even try," the angel laughed. Juno blew her hair out of her face, beginning to walk down the hall with them compliantly. They turned a corner, Juno seeing Lucifer standing among angels. Her eyes widened as she began struggling again.

"No! Nope," Juno said beginning to back up from them. They gripped her arms tighter, Juno barely even noticing. She elbowed one in the face, then brought her leg up and kicked him in the stomach. The other angel holding her pulled her back, throwing her to the ground. Juno grunted, arching her back in pain. The angel she had kicked pulled her up from the ground, pulling her into the room.

"That was a great show, it really was. I loved it," Lucifer said holding his arms out. "Y-You can let go of her now." The angel let go of Juno, shoving her forward slightly. Juno turned to hit him, but Lucifer pulled her arms back, bringing her into him. She almost shivered as he leaned toward her ear, their bodies pressed together in an uncomfortable situation. "You know, I thought I would kill you, but then I realized I could use you for so much more."

"What lies have you already told them that they believe?" Juno asked side glaring at him.

"None, actually. Just how mankind is falling apart," Lucifer said with a sigh. "And how I can help them with a little peace offering."

"I'm a peace offering?" Juno asked.

"You broke into Heaven a few weeks ago, took your sister out of her Heaven, then broke into another Heaven. You are wanted here," an angel said glaring at her.

"Yeah, to save my life! And skippy here was backing me up!" Juno yelled at him as she pointed at Lucifer.

"Why Castiel took interest in you, I will never know," Lucifer said pulling Juno's hair back. He leaned the side of his head against her, Juno closing her eyes in frustration. "Alright, rally over! Let's go back to it, everybody!" The angels began filing out, Lucifer letting go of Juno and walking to the door. "Thank you. Hey, I like your spunk. There's always room for a go-getter in my organization." The angel that had snapped at Juno walked by, Lucifer grabbing him by the shoulder. "Hey, I know I can count on you. But what about your people? They on board, or we need to do a little wing-twisting?"

"I'll have to think about it," he responded nervously.

"Don't you think about it too long. You know what they say... he who hesitates..." Lucifer snapped his fingers, "...disintegrates." Another angel walked by, Lucifer grabbing him as well. "You look great, you been working out?" Suddenly, everything started shaking and the lights were flickering. Juno looked around with worry, stepping past the angels as a cloud of darkness came at them. Lucifer grabbed Juno, pulling her into him and crouching down and away from the darkness. All the other angels were whipped back, flying into walls and crashing over tables.

It went away all at once, everyone beginning to stand up. Juno finally noticed Lucifer's grip on her, making her shove him back slightly. She brushed off her coat as she stood up, running her fingers through her hair as she looked to see the room was practically overturned.

"Well, that... was a little payback, ladies and gents," Lucifer told them as he stood as well. "I don't think Auntie Amara appreciated your little half-assed smiting. And, uh, guess what... this... this is just a teeny taste of what's to come. So, clearly my expertise is gonna come in handy. 'Cause God knows what's next. Ouch. I almost forgot. Um... God doesn't care."

The angels dismissed themselves, all going separate ways. Juno stood uncomfortably in the room, waiting until they were all gone. Once they were, Lucifer turned to her with a wide smile. He noticed the angry look on his face and began to frown.

"Being around me isn't that bad," he said holding his arms out. "Look, I needed them to trust me, and now they do. It's not like I'm gonna kill you."

"Really? Because I'm kind of getting the sense that you're going to," Juno said tilting her head at him.

"Look, you're a valuable asset to this little God Squad. In fact, I could teach you so much about yourself that you don't even know," Lucifer told her with a smile.

"Thanks, but I'll pass," Juno said. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go back to Earth now."

"Hmm, no," Lucifer said stepping towards her. "See, the darkness is powerful, but you, Juno, you're up there. It's just like Richard said. Not God, but up there."

"That was just something to tell me to tide me over. He wasn't telling the truth," Juno said rolling her eyes.

"Just think about it, J!" Lucifer said grabbing her arms. She glared at him, Lucifer holding his hands up in defense. "I could teach you a lot. In fact, if you let me take you as a vessel, Amara would stand no chance." Juno shifted her weight, wanting to believe him, but she knew he could be lying. It was Lucifer, after all.

"Let me out of here," she said scowling at him. "You'll never win. No one will ever believe you. You're just a fallen angel, Satan. Stop trying to be something more." Juno shoved past him, walking towards the gate. Lucifer appeared in front of her, Juno becoming very alert that he could hurt her. He took a step forward, clenching his fists. Juno stayed alert, ready to retreat if needed.

"Fine, go ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you," he said motioning for Juno to go. She took a step, Lucifer pulling her into him. "But I think I hear the Winchesters calling." They disappeared from the room, appearing in a church then. Juno looked around, Sam and Dean's eyes widening as Lucifer still had a grip on her.

"Let her go!" Dean yelled. Juno brought her elbow up, elbowing Lucifer in the face. He let go, grunting in pain. She jumped over the fire Sam lit, landing on the ground next to Dean. He grabbed her pulling her up.

"I'm sorry. Your prayer implied that I'd be... joining the team, but I'm just not feeling the warm and fuzzy here," Lucifer said crossing his arms. His eyes landed on the cloth that contained the Horn of Joshua, his eyes widening. "Wow. There it is. Powered up by Dad himself. Well, that bad boy plus me... That ought to take her out all right." He clapped his hands, rubbing them together with a smile. "Let's get to it. Douse the flames." He looked between them all as no one was moving. "Or don't?" Dean cut his hand, hitting it against a sigil on the wall. Lucifer began shaking at the affects of the spell.

"Cas!" Dean called, no answer. "Castiel, show yourself!"

"Dean?" Cas asked looking up. Juno's eyes widened as Dean stepped forward.

"Cas," Juno said in disbelief.

"What are you doing? What's... What's going on?" Castiel asked furrowing his eyebrows.

"Cas, listen to me. We don't have a whole lot of time, okay? You have got to-" Dean cut himself off as Cas shook, again, Lucifer regaining control. "Cas?" He doubled over, the two still struggling with each other. "Castiel, show yourself!" Lucifer laughed, looking up at them as he kept chuckling.

"Uh, he's got to what?" Lucifer asked looking up at Dean. "You boys..." He laughed again, shaking his head, "ooh, you almost had me there for a minute, but these mail-order spells... they're just not what they're cracked up to be, are they?"

"Cas, expel him! You got to kick Lucifer out! Do you hear me?!" Dean yelled in denial.

"Honestly, I think he's happy with the arrangement. I mean, he did invite me in and all, Dean," Lucifer said taking a few steps forward.

"Cas!" Dean yelled again.

"Cas!" Lucifer yelled mockingly. Juno shut her eyes as she looked down, knowing Lucifer had shoved him down. Dean glared at Lucifer, both their faces turning dark. "Hand over the weapon. What do you say? Or we can just wait for this warding to fail and I'll take it." It slowly began to burn out, everyone's eyes widening.

"Bloody hell," Crowley muttered. He smoked out of his meat suit, going straight into Castiel. Everyone's eyes widening, Rowena even stepping out from where she was hiding. Minutes passed, Cas's body still not moving.

"You know, he's been gone a long time. I mean, what do you think is going on?" Sam asked as they glance back at Crowley's meat suit.

"I don't know. Maybe Cas isn't willing to play ball. I mean, you said it yourself... he wanted this.

"Can't you people do anything right?! Whilst all this dithering goes on, we're losing time! Look... the warding's beginning to fail," Rowena yelled at them.

"Well, it's not like we can do anything," Juno said pointing between Dean, Sam, and herself. Dean turned, looking back at Cas.

"Come on, Cas. What the hell?" he muttered. They could hear a sudden sizzling, everyone turning to see Crowley's meat suit's head burning. "Help me" was now burned into his forehead. Sam grabbed the cross sitting on the pew, beginning to chant an exorcism.

"Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas omnis incursio infernalis adversarii. Omnis legio! Omnis con potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii. Omnis legio! Omnis congregatio et secta diabolica! Ergo, Draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adiuramus te! Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii. Omnis legio! Omnis congregatio et secta diabolica! Ergo, Draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adiuramus te!" Red smoked emerged from Cas's body, going back into Crowley. He gasped, sitting back up. "Crowley?"

"Useless. Lucifer's hold on him is too strong," Crowley panted out. Juno turned, noticing the fire going out.

"The fire," Juno stated with wide eyes. Rowena stepped behind the wall again, everyone looking at the distinguished fire.

"Ah. Trick me? You lied to me. You know, I could have been your warrior," Lucifer said tilting his head at them. "Ah. Who needs ya?" Sam turned, going to grab the Horn. Lucifer held his hand out, the Horn floating to him. Crowley disappeared from the room, everyone looking back at where he once was. "Well. It's just like Crowley to leave right when the party's getting started. Have a seat." He waved his hand, Sam and Dean being forced to sit. Juno looked around frantically, then began to back up as she was pulling the angel blade from inside her jacket. "As much as I get a giggle out of you two, and I do, there comes a time when every relationship has... run its course. So..."

Lucifer clenched his fist, Sam and Dean grunting in pain. Juno watched in horror, shutting her eyes at what she was about to do. Before she could say anything, the window shattered. Along with part of the wall. Juno looked back to see Rowena was still hidden, then took her gaze to Amara who was walking into the room.

"Oh, Lucifer," she said shaking her head. Dear nephew, my, how you've changed. I was tracking her when she left my side." Everyone looked back at Juno who then pointed back at Rowena.

"You were safely sealed away. You're gonna wish you'd stayed there," Lucifer told Amara. He held up the Horn, taking in all of its power. He held a hand up beginning to blast Amara with the power. Juno grabbed onto a pew, holding up as the wind from the blast was blowing her back. When it stopped, everyone saw that Amara was fine. She extended her hand, pulling Lucifer towards her. She planted to hands on his face, studying him.

"I think you and I need to have a nice, long chat," she said with a light smile. Juno stepped forward, wondering if Lucifer decided to skip town.

"Cas?" she questioned, hope in her voice. Amara looked at her, then at Sam and Dean. She flicked her wrist, the two unleashed from Lucifer's grasp. Amara and Lucifer then left in a ball of light, everyone shielding their eyes. And just like that, they were gone.
