Ever since the four had learned of Amara's relation to God, they were stumped. There was no book that covered how to actually defeat someone that's as powerful, maybe even more powerful, than God. That's why Sam and Dean are taking easy cases. Juno was really left on her own as Castiel wasn't doing much either.
Sam and Dean had left that morning for Minnesota to take up a case there, so Juno had to find one of her own. She was scrolling through several articles, but finally settled on one. She had to conclude just from the article that it was a vampire. Bite marks in the neck, body drained of blood, teeth found in the wound. It was for sure a hunters kind of case.
Yet, Sam and Dean would never let her go alone. She was a first timer, which meant she would need back up. Her ideal back up, Charlie, was gone. Which meant she had one final option that she knew was open. Castiel.
Juno stood from the chair in the library, walking towards Cas's room. She could already hear the faint sound of Game of Thrones which Dean had put on for Cas instead of Jenny Jones. She wasn't debating, but she wasn't entirely sure Cas would get the story arch. She finally reached his room, peering in to see him watching intently.
"Hey, I think I found a case," Juno said walking in slowly. She held the tablet in her hand, Cas looking over at her.
"Do Sam and Dean know?" he asked.
"Sam and Dean are on a hunt in Minnesota, and since I'm just starting out, I'm gonna need a partner," Juno said like it should've been obvious.
"I can call some hunters, give you-"
"You're really not getting this are you?" Juno asked raising an eyebrow. Cas furrowed his eyebrows, Juno letting out a sigh. "Look, ever since you beat the living hell out of Metatron you've been sitting in here watching Game of Thrones. Now I know it's not easy to get over childhood trauma, but you can't just sit in here all day doing nothing. Not when the Darkness is out there doing God knows what."
"Well, he doesn't know," Cas answered looking over at her.
"Castiel, you're going on this hunt. You've gotta do something," Juno pressured him. She grabbed the TV remote, turning it off. Cas looked over like she'd just stabbed him. "Let's get a move on it, Drummer Boy." Juno turned, walking out of his room. Cas stood slowly, shocked at her words. But he merely grabbed his tie and jackets. He walked out of his room out to the war room to see Juno zipping shut a bag. She pulled it around her shoulder, turning to Cas. She nodded for them to walk out, Cas following her promptly.
*****
Juno parked the car in front of the motel, Cas emerging from the passenger side. The two walked inside the motel, Juno pulling out one of the credit cards Sam and Dean gave her. They approached the counter, the man looking up from his newspaper.
"Let me guess, Honeymoon Suite?" he asked. Juno furrowed her eyebrows as she shook her head.
"What? No. Two twins," she told him. He laughed slightly, grabbing a key from a wall.
"Sure," he said, then set the key on the counter. Juno gave him her card, glancing back to see Cas holding one of the candy bars. He was about to open it, Juno's eyes widening.
"Cas," she said. He looked over quickly, Juno motioning for him to put it down. He slowly put the chocolate back, then walked up next to Juno. The man behind the counter gave Juno her card back, the girl grabbing the key as well. "Thanks."

"Enjoy your stay," the man grumbled. Juno didn't listen as she left the lobby and started walking towards the room.
"You know what stealing is, right Castiel?" Juno asked glancing back at him.
"I wanted to see what was inside," he told her.
"It's just chocolate, have you not seen chocolate before?" she asked raising an eyebrow at him. "It doesn't matter, plus I'm scared you haven't." Juno opened the door to their room, walking in and setting her bag on the bed.
"What's the plan?" Cas asked as he watched Juno begin to pull out several different things.
"We interview the vic's family's, then take a look at the bodies. Find out if there's a connection between where they were found and where they went missing," Juno explained. She pulled out a pantsuit, smiling lightly. "You have an FBI badge, right?"
"Yes, Dean made me one," Cas said as he sat at the table.
"Great," Juno nodded. She walked to the bathroom and quickly changed into the pantsuit. She walked back out to see Cas sitting there waiting. She grabbed a gun, fake badge, then turned to Cas. "Let's do this."
The two climbed back into the car, going to the hospital first. Upon arriving at the hospital, the two walked towards the coroners office. Juno began pulling out her badge, Cas just looking around warily. The coroner looked up upon their arrival.
"Hello, I'm Detective Jones. This is my partner, Detective Wilson. We'd like to ask you a few questions about some recent homicides," Juno said. She glanced at Castiel who hadn't pulled out his badge yet. She elbowed him, Cas pulling up the badge. The coroner nodded slowly, looking between the two carefully.
"Which victims?" the coroner asked. Juno look at his name tag, smiling slightly. His name was Charles.
"The victims with supposed bite marks out of their necks and drained bodies," Juno nodded.
"Yes, right this way," Charles said. He began walking out, Juno following. She glanced back at Cas who hadn't moved. She grabbed his coat collar, pulling him out of the room. The two followed Charles into the morgue as he pulled out the three bodies. "The police found them all around the same area."
"Where?" Juno asked.
"The river, not too well hidden either. Has to be animals, or a mountain lion," Charles said shaking his head.
"When and where did they all go missing?" Juno asked.
"They all seemed to be outsiders. They each stayed at the motel, captured the first night of their stay," Charles informed them. Juno turned and looked at Cas who seemed spooked now. "I'd keep an eye on that motel owner, always gave everyone the creeps."
"I thought you said it was an animal?" Juno questioned.
"Yeah, but you never know with that man," Charles said. "Anyways, take as long as you need." He walked out, Juno turning to Cas again.
"The motel owner must be the vampire," Cas said.
"Well, let's just hope he left a little treat in one of these vic's," Juno said. She grabbed a pair of gloves, pulling them on her hands to inspect the victims. She looked in each of their necks, getting to the last one and finding a tooth. She smiled, pulling it out of his neck. She held it up to Cas who took it from her hand. "Guess it is a vampire."
"We should go back to the motel, question the owner," Cas said. He dropped the tooth in the trash as Juno took off her gloves.

"You're warming up already," she said looking over at Cas with a smile. She walked past him and out of the morgue, going to the car.
*****
Juno and Castiel walked into the motel lobby once again, the owner looking up at them. He set his pen down, a small smirk on his face.
"Realized you want a queen?" he asked.
"Detective Jones and Detective Wilson. We need to ask you a few questions about the people that went missing here," Cas said ignoring his question.
"Sure," the owner said sitting up straight.
"When was the last time you saw each of the victims?" Juno asked crossing her arms.
"I don't usually see the people that check into my motel. They check in, stay here for however long they need, then check out. It's not like there's a mandatory dinner every night," the owner said with a laugh.
"Sir, we're going to need you to take this more seriously," Juno said tilting her head at the man. He gritted his teeth together, then sighed.
"I only ever talked with Lenny. He was in town to see his brother, but went missing on his way out of his room last week," the owner confessed.
"Did you see Lenny get taken?" Castiel followed up.
"No. I was out getting dinner for my only employee, Michael. He was the only one here. In fact, he saw all the kidnappings," the owner told them.
"Can we talk to him?" Juno asked.
"He's out right now, but his shift is tonight. He requested to only work nights," the owner told them. Juno nodded slowly, realizing Michael was probably the vamp.
"Thank you," she said nodding at him. Cas and Juno turned as they walked out, beginning to walk towards their room.
"Michael must be the vampire. He doesn't want to work the day shift, and he was the only one to witness the kidnappings," Cas said as Juno pulled out the key.
"Yeah, we'll just have to wait. We won't question him when he gets in. We'll wait until the owner leaves, then wait for Michael to see if he comes in the get us," Juno told him.
"Use ourselves as bait?" Cas questioned.
"Yeah, what else is there to do?" Juno asked. She opened the door, walking into the room. Cas shut the door behind them, walking to the kitchen table and sitting there. Juno pulled out her computer, beginning to hack into the motel's security system. She smiled as the camera's pulled up, then leaned back as she watched.
*****
It was hours of silence after the talk with the motel owner. They'd watched the security footage each in turns to check for anything suspicious. Juno eventually went out and picked up beer and food for herself seeing as Cas doesn't eat. She walked back into the room, setting the beer on the table.
"You see anything yet?" she asked.
"A woman's dog peed on a fire hydrant and a child outside fell off her skateboard," Cas said furrowing his eyebrows. "I was going to help her, but she ran away crying before I stood up."
"That's... alright," Juno said with a slight nod. She sat across from Cas at the table, opening one of the beers and drinking it. Cas watched her carefully as she pulled the computer so both of them could look.
"You mentioned the day we first met you that you were stationed in Iraq. What made you come back?" Cas asked furrowing his eyebrows. Juno set the beer down, nodding slowly.
"Well, my service term had ended actually three years before the time I actually came home. I insisted I stay and keep helping, which really helped for a while. Then one day I experienced... something. I don't remember it, or anything from that year. Since my head trauma was so bad, I was forced to go home. Which also means I am not allowed to go back until I go through therapy, but... I don't really want to." Cas looked down as he seemed confused.
"Why... Why do you not want to remember?" Cas asked looking over at Juno. She shrugged, leaning back in her chair.
"It's hard watching the people you trust and the people you're supposed to protect die when you could've done more," Juno said as she began staring down at the table. "I realize you probably know how that feels, but... You know, you're stronger and I'm just... human." Cas frowned at her words, his head dropping. He took his gaze to the computer screen, noticing a guy standing outside their door.
"Juno," Cas said standing up. She looked up quickly as the door was kicked in. The two looked to see the vampire walking in. Juno glanced to the bed where the weapons were, beginning to stand to walk that way. Cas stepped forward first, beginning to fend off the vampire. Juno began running to the bed, pulling out the machete. She looked up as the vampire pushed Castiel back, sending him flying through the table. She brought the machete up, going to behead the vamp. He caught her arm, Juno's eyes widening. The vampire grabbed her, throwing her against the wall.
Cas suddenly popped up, watching as the vampire began pulling Juno out of the room. He stumbled to get up, grabbing his head in pain. The vamp fully dragged Juno out of the room, Cas's eyes widening. He finally ran to follow them, running outside to see no trace of them.
"Juno?!" Cas yelled looking around. "Juno!"
*****
Juno took a sharp breath as she woke up, looking around the room. A sudden bright light turned on, causing her to turn her head away. She squinted her eyes, the bright light dimming down a bit.
"You know, I should've known just by the fact you didn't want a single bed that you two were hunters." Juno looked over at the vampire, noticing it to be the owner of the motel. "We never really got to properly introduce ourselves. My name is Mason."
"Okay, Mason. My name is kiss my ass," Juno said tilting her head.
"Oh, you can act tough all you want but you know I heard every single word you told that angel," Mason said bending down to Juno. "How fragile you actually are..." Mason pulled Juno's hair behind her ear, the girl closing her eyes in discomfort. "You're just soft on the inside."
"You don't know anything about me," Juno said as she looked up at him.
"I'll tell your angel that he can find your body by the river. Drained, dried out, and dead," Mason said as he walked around the chair. Juno began trying to flinch away, Mason smiling lightly at her attempt to escape. "Try, girl. You'll still die no matter what." Juno dropped the angel blade into her hand, going at the ropes immediately. Mason snatched the blade out of her hand, cutting Juno slightly. She winced in pain, letting her hand hang as she clenched her fist. "You can't escape me, your blood already wreaks of death."
"Then what's stopping you?" Juno remarked. "Do it. But, I know you won't. You could've done it while I was unconscious, you could've done from the minute I woke up but you haven't. You're hesitating because you know this will be your last good meal, so you want to savor it. You know that Castiel is coming for you, and the Winchester's won't stop until they find who killed me because they love my family too much. So go ahead, kill me right now. Or just accept that you're already a goner."
Suddenly, the door to the warehouse flung open, Cas walking through with the machete in his hand. Mason looked over at him quickly, beginning to go for Castiel. Juno took that as her moment to try and get out. She figured that if she dislocated her thumb she'd be able to pull her hand out of the ropes. So, as Castiel was fighting Mason, Juno went to breaking out. She applied pressure to her thumb, then pushed down hard. She groaned at the pain, but her plan worked. She pulled the hurt hand through the ropes, then pull the other one out. She pulled the ropes over her head, then stood to go help Cas.
Currently Adam had him pinned to the wall, angel blade at his throat. Cas was struggling to shove the vampire back with all his might, beginning to get frustrated.
"Oh, the things going on with you," Mason said tilting his head at Cas. "How much you already care about this normal human more than anyone... Well, maybe not more than Dean Winchester, but she's already getting up there. How she's treating you with care, better than anyone, any angel, ever has. And you love it."
"Y-You don't know that," Castiel stuttered out. He began reaching in his coat, trying to grab anything from inside.
"Oh, but I do. It's so obvious, Castiel. You are lost and broken, and she's putting you back together. You may not see it, but everyone else does. She's a warrior battling your own battle for you," Mason said with a slight chuckle. "And once she's gone, you'll be shattered." Juno grabbed the machete, then swung at Mason's neck. Slowly, his head fell back and his body slumped to the ground. Juno dropped the blade, taking a deep breath.
"He's dead," she stated looking up at Cas. "First hunts always the best. Right. Let's, uh..."
"Your arm," Cas said taking a step forward. Juno glanced down at it, nodding slightly.
"Yeah, he kind of cut me. And I had to dislocate my thumb to get out of the ropes. It's fine," Juno said as she tried to turn away again. Cas grabbed her good arm, pulling Juno back. Juno looked at him confused, Cas merely grabbing her hurt arm. A white glow surrounded his hand and her arm, the cut and the thumb healing. Once he moved his hand away, Juno stretched out her hand. She took a moment before she cleared her throat. "Alright, let's burn his body then get back to the bunker." She turned, going to the car outside that Cas drove there.
He merely stood there, pondering the words of the vampire. He couldn't tell if he was actually going to believe Mason. Maybe Juno was being kind to him, but that was just human nature to be kind to a person. It wasn't like she had feelings towards him. They met two weeks ago. Friends and hunters, that's what they were. Nothing more.
