"What are you doing here?" Jade confronted the unwelcome visitors.
"Where's Greg?" Freya asked, furious that Jade didn't seem to have any regret about what she and her brother had done.
Jade ignored her and looked at Jennifer who had her hair tied back into a low bun.
"Who are you?" she asked Jennifer instead. "You aren't welcome here."
Freya didn't realise how angry she was until she felt her nails digging into her palms as she tightened her hands into fists.
"Where is Greg? What did you do to him?" Freya asked again, raising her voice this time.
"I didn't do anything to him."
Freya was about to retort but Jennifer cut in. "If you know where my son is, just tell me where he is."
Jade hesitated.
"No wonder you've survived this long," she said, turning her attention to Freya. "It's a family of freaks."
Jennifer glanced at her daughter before taking a step in Jade's direction to which Jade growled lowly in response. "Stay off our property, witch."
"I know what your pack did to my children. You're lucky your neck isn't already broken. Now, tell me where my son is before I force it out of you."
"Didn't you hear me? We don't know where Greg is and we didn't do anything to him."
Jennifer was about to reply when suddenly Murwah stepped out, followed by a few other familiar faces. Freya watched them stand beside Jade, all looking back at her and Jennifer, curiously.
"What's going on here?" Murwah asked.
Jade gritted her teeth, "Ask them."
Suddenly, there was a sound of a car swerving nearby. Freya and the others looked to the side where Tristan had parked his car and got out. He met her gaze, surprised to see her at the pack house.
Freya watched him approach them, slowly.
"Freya," he said, oblivious to the situation.
Freya grimaced at him. She remembered exactly how he had voluntarily handed her over to a bunch of homicidal witches who had tried to sacrifice her. If there was ever a part of her that thought she could trust him, it was long gone.

When she looked away, Tristan felt his heart drop instantly. He straightened up and looked at the others who were looking back at him, questioningly.
Out of the corner of her eye, Jennifer saw Billy who was moving towards them and swiftly moved her open palm in his direction.
Billy grabbed his neck, choking on air.
"Hey, hey, hey, what the hell are you doing?" Tristan shouted.
Jennifer looked at Tristan, her eyes glimmering with rage. "I believe you have my son, Alpha. I want you to bring him to me."
Billy continued to make gasping sounds, falling on his knees.
"Son?" he echoed, bewildered.
"Where is Greg, Tristan?" Freya asked, irritated that it was taking so long.
"I don't know where Greg is! Let him go," he yelled, distracted by Billy choking.
When she didn't move, Tristan started to crouch down as if he was about to transform. "Alpha, you'll regret doing that. Just give me my child and I will leave."
Tristan looked at Billy, his face red now.
"Okay, okay, just let him go dammit."
Jennifer lowered her hand and Billy immediately gasped for air, staggering back as he stood up. Murwah joined him and helped him steady himself.
"Fucking bitch," Billy cursed, his hand on his neck.
"Okay everyone just calm down, look lady," Murwah began. "We don't know where Greg is. He's not here."
"He was here, you had him," Jennifer said, her face starting to redden with anger.
"What did you do to him?" Freya asked in a calmer tone.
Tristan glanced at her and shook his head, "We didn't do anything. We-"
"Your kid probably wondered off, woman. We left him at the house and we haven't seen him since," Billy interrupted.
"You turned my son into a werewolf," Jennifer said to Tristan.
"I saved his life," Tristan said, defensively.
Jennifer looked disgusted.
"He's not here, mum," Freya began to pull Jennifer's sleeve.

Jennifer was stubborn but finally began to walk with Freya when she heard someone run from behind. Billy pushed Murwah out of his way and changed into a wolf, about to charge at Jennifer.
Jennifer spun around and whipped her hand through the air and a loud crack was heard. Billy fell to his side as his left arm broke. He howled in pain and Jennifer looked at Tristan.
"You better hope I find my son," she threatened.
Tristan stared at the pair and then looked back at Billy who had transformed back to his human form.
"Crap," he muttered, pulling a piece of torn clothing over his private parts. "Fucking bitch broke my arm."
Jade went back into the house, slamming the door behind her.
Tristan strode over to Billy and helped him up. "Pack meeting in an hour," he said, loudly before taking Billy inside.
"Someone get the doctor!" he yelled before the door closed behind him.
Freya looked at her mother as they walked away. It was like she was looking at a whole other person, someone she didn't know.
"Those damn wolves won't help us find Greg so we're going to have to find him another way. But for that we need to find a safe place."
"What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to seance the dead. We have no time to lose."
"What?"
"The spirits will know where he is."
"Mum, you're kind of freaking me out here."
"Don't worry, Freya. We'll find him."
They walked for a long time until finally they walked into a block building of flats. They climbed the stairs and after Jennifer opened the locked door of the third floor flat, they walked in and locked the door.
"God, it smells horrible in here," Freya said, holding her sleeve over her nose.
"This will do," she said, taking off her boots.
"Are you going to talk to the spirits now?"
Jennifer looked around, "I can only speak to them at night."
"Oh."
Jennifer pulled out a bag of pasta and found some other ingredients in the cabinets. "Guess we're having bland pasta today."
Freya nodded her head, "I'll eat anything at this point."
There was a long period of silence as Jennifer sorted through the food.
"Mum, when you were still at the Jones' house, what exactly happened?" she asked, taking a seat.
"Hmm?"
"You know- Dad and the Jones' family."
She saw her mother tense up.
"They didn't make it," she said, simply. "Even when I tried to save them, I couldn't."
"You guys weren't inside the house, why?"
Jennifer shook her head. "They came all at once. It was chaos. The smoke fell within seconds and they came out of nowhere. Your dad, he tried saving the Jones' kids but- it wasn't enough."
Freya looked at her hands, thinking about it for a moment.
"Where did you go?"
"I found a store and locked myself in the supply room, charmed every free space I could find," she said, turning around.
Her eyes were sad as she spoke. "I stayed there for two days before I came out."
Freya stayed silent.
"It's important for us to find Greg," she said.
"I know he's okay, wherever he is," Freya said in an attempt to stay positive.
Jennifer let the pasta fall into the hot water.
"Freya," she said after a long pause.
"Yeah?" Freya looked up at her.
"Your father," she began. "He died doing something very brave. He died trying to save those children. Just remember that, okay?"
Freya nodded with a small smile. She then turned her head so that her mother couldn't see her eyes starting to water.
Jennifer smiled sadly before covering the pot of boiling water with its lid.
