《Red Riding Hood BxM》Chapter 22

The first thing Jack became aware of when he woke up, was the soothing warmth next to his body. As he slowly started to blink out of his sleep, he also heard the tiniest of noises, a little whine of protest, which instantly woke him up.
Blinking down, his eyes instantly filled, spilling soundlessly as he looked down at their child. The blue blanket was a clear giveaway and Jack bit back a hiccupping sob as he gently reached out. His stomach still was dissented, but he knew from Chris' explanation that it would take a while before his stomach deflated once more.
He reached out, brushing a finger over his son's cheek and smiled as the boy's nose scrunched up, as if pondering whether it liked or disliked the touch. He nuzzled against the touch and quieted down, letting Jack wonder over their little miracle.
What caught his eyes though, was the hair of their son. Like the usual newborn, it had a set of dark hair, but what was rather unusual, was the white fringe that brushed against the baby's forehead.
"Gorgeous, isn't he?"
Jack's eyes snapped up, nodding before reaching forwards to press a kiss to Kaiden's lips. His wolf was quick to respond, though the kiss remained gentle. Kaiden could easily see the hint of pain and exhaustion in Jack's eyes and knew not to press his mate too much.
Still, there was one question that burned on the wolf's lips and he couldn't help himself but ask, "So, what are we going to name him?" He blurted after five minutes of silence. Jack chuckled softly, nudging his finger against his son's tiny hand and feeling his chest swell with emotion when the boy grasped it tightly.
"Jayden."
Kaiden's eyes widened, then swelled before his tears slipped down his cheeks. He had once jokingly stated, that if they had a son, their name should be a mix of their own, seeing as they both made the boy.
At the time, Jack had scowled at him and rolled his eyes, stating he'd think about the name but never had it really came up again.
Jayden...
They both smiled, though Jack smiled back a bit weakly and tiredly before reaching out for the boy. He was almost hesitant to hold Jayden but Kaiden slowly and gently lifted the boy and placed him in his daddy's arms.
"He's perfect." Jack whispered into the quiet room, checking that their son had all ten little fingers and all ten tiny toes. The new parents smiled and grinned at one another, basking in the glow of parenthood.

Jayden curled up his tiny nose, following up with an irritated whine. Jack hushed and cooed at the boy, feeling gently for the diaper but came up dry.
"I think our little pup is hungry." Kaiden chuckled, scooting out of the bed to move to a desk near the door. A bottle had been deposited there already and when it was gently offered to Jayden, the boy eagerly sucked down on the teat.
Kaiden grinned proudly as the room filled with suckling noises, along with tiny pants as Jayden breathed in between gulps of milk. Jack gently moved the bottle side to side when Jayden paused after a while, no longer drinking yet still latched onto the bottle.
"I think he fell asleep." Jack murmured, smiling as Jayden suckled for a few more seconds at the gentle movement before releasing the bottle all together.
"Here, lemme take him." Kaiden whispered before gently lifting the pup on his shoulder, almost hesitantly patting his back. After a decent belch, they placed the pup in his basinet, smiling as the boy promptly fell back to sleep.
"This is going to take some time getting used to." Jack murmured as he looked at his mate with warm eyes. Kaiden grinned and crawled back in bed behind Jack until they were comfortably laying on their sides, spooning one another while they could watch their son.
Of course, they both didn't get much sleep, as Jayden let his displeasure with his wet diaper know loud and clear. It woke both his parents with a start, though Kaiden was quick to kiss Jack, "I got it hon, go back to sleep. You need your rest."
Jack made an unintelligible sound as Kaiden quickly slipped out from underneath the covers "What's the matter little guy? Is someone a bit upset?" Kaiden murmured before wincing when Jayden howled from the top of his lungs.
"Damn, demanding little thing, aren't you?" Kaiden laughed before freezing when he got a good whiff of the diaper. "Oh god, that stinks so badly!" He groaned as he unbuttoned the boy's onesie before retching as the smell only intensified.
"All that from a single bottle of-" He retched, averting his face as he tried to muffle the sound as to not wake Jack up. Jayden kicked his little legs, whining and wailing when Kaiden didn't remove the diaper quickly enough.
"Hold still, you're going to get it everywhere!" Kaiden quickly took a deep breath before holding it for as long as he could, changing his son's diaper at an impossible speed. Soon enough Jayden was sighing happily, eyes drooping once more while Kaiden shook on his legs, wondering what he should do with the small package of mass destruction.

Luckily, a nurse came in to check what the ruckus was all about, grinning as Kaiden was very eager to deposit the filthy diaper in the bin she pointed out. "It takes a while to getting used to, trust me on that." She reassured with a wink before leaving the new parents for their much needed rest.
A week passed before Jack was capable of traveling back to the pack. His stomach had healed nicely and there weren't any complications. At the moment he was busy changing Jayden's wet diaper, cooing and laughing at the happy baby as he kicked his legs and looked around blindly.
"How is it possible that every time I change his diaper, I get the shitty end of the stick but he behaves perfectly with you?" Kaiden protested half heartedly, looking over Jack's shoulder as he redressed their son.
Jack shrugged, smiling at the remembrance of Kaiden's colorful curses that morning, when he had been in the midst of removing Jayden's diaper. The second the cloth was removed from Jayden's crotch, the boy had stunned his father into shocked silence by peeing all over the wolf.
They both smiled as Jayden stretched and crooned, reaching up blindly. When he was within Jack's embrace, the boy yawned and nuzzled against his chest before slowly falling asleep.
"I'm glad he's not a cry baby." Jack murmured as they left the room, looking down the hallway at the room a few doors away. They had both heard the new couple there, or rather their baby that decided to give them a free concert for hours on end.
Before Jack left the building, he was taught how to wrap his son in against his chest, allowing him to free his hands, while keeping Jayden close to his body heat. At first, Jayden had grumbled and whined of the hands gently tugging at his arms and wrapping the cloth around them both, but when everything was done, the baby was as quiet as could be.
"Its your heartbeat." Kaiden had murmured, pressing a kiss to Jack's cheek as he could tell the exact moment when their son started listening to Jack's heart, allowing the familiar sound to sooth him back to sleep.
"Time to go love." Kaiden grinned, pressing an eager kiss to Jack's lips when his mate looked up, gaining a chuckle from his lover as Jack held the back of Kaiden's head for a few more seconds before allowing his wolf to step back and shift.
As Kaiden shifted into his wolf, Jack grinned when the massive beast acted like a big puppy, wagging with his tail and entire body while eagerly sniffing at their son, imprinting his scent.
They were both careful and gentle, making sure that Jack was settled properly on Kaiden's back before the big wolf took a cautious step forwards. When the baby didn't respond, he slowly started to walk, gaining speed until he was trotting along.
Both of them knew he didn't need to rush. Jayden wasn't going anywhere except home, with them. Even as they walked through the beautiful landscape, Jack couldn't avert his eyes from their son.
He was mesmerized by the little boy, especially the patch of white hair amidst his otherwise black head. Laying against Kaiden's fur, he smiled at the warmth and the soothing sensation and grinned happily when Jayden nuzzled into the fur and made a happy sound.
"Our son is too adorable."
"Oh?" Kaiden moved alongside the river to a shallow part, wading through the water instead of opting to jump over it and risking a rough landing. "He's nuzzling your fur."
Kaiden looked over his shoulder, mouth opening in a happy pant when he saw Jayden indeed nuzzling in his fur and making elated sounds.
By the time that the young couple made it back to their pack, night had already fallen. Jayden's introduction to the pack would have to wait for a few days, Kaiden decided, noticing that Jack wasn't too far off following his son into slumber.
He quickly brought his precious cargo inside and smiled as Jack waited tiredly in bed, waiting for Kaiden to put their son to rest in the basinet. They both smiled and hugged one another, professing their love to each other once more.
For one in Jack's entire life, he had hope for his future. Life couldn't get any better than this.
