《Birds of a Feather》Here

A few days later, the company returned back to the Ministry. Queenie was fully healed, but people didn't trust her yet. They kept her on lockdown, in spite of Tina's protests, until it was safe for her.

Jacob was ecstatic. He met Queenie often, filling in the details on what happened. He was able to even steal some moments with her to cook a bit of food to bring back memories.

"Aw, honey, it's perfect" Queenie smiled warmly as she tasted a bit of the chocolate filled dough. They were creating a batch of cookies.

Queenie was given a small studio apartment in a lonely corner in the Ministry itself, with a bathroom, bedroom and a kitchen. They even have her some kitchen supplies to make sure she fares well.

"They're perfect" Jacob breathed, "Queenie?"

"Yeah?"

"Had anyone told you that you are simply. . breathtaking?" Jacob began.

"Loads" Queenie suppressed a laugh, "But you're the only one, according to me".

She swooped down to peck him on the cheek. Just then, Tina ruined their moment by bursting in.

"Teen! What?" Queenie quickly pulled herself away from Jacob.

"Sorry, sorry, it's almost December and I need to go to New York" Tina said, "Achilles invited me to his wedding and it's good if I go".

"And you need a dress" Queenie read her mind. It was almost as if they never left New York.

"Yes" Tina agreed, "No worries, I'll just take something... carry on".

Queenie's clothes were safely brought back from the mansion, in spite of the damage caused and were fixed and folded and stored in her cupboard.

Tina opened it to find a long pink gown, which would look amazing on Queenie but probably not on her. She scoured through the shelves to find a dark blue dress, with a thin strap. It seemed like velvet.

"Professional" Tina sighed as she folded it up and tucked it underneath her arms. This was a perfect dress, suited for her.

She then went back to her own room, a few floors away, as she reached the Residents' Floor. She walked into her room to try on the dress.

Just then, as she put it on and was looking at herself in the mirror, Newt walked right in.

"Oh, so sorry Tina, I. . " Newt said.

"It's fine" Tina allowed him inside, "What brings you here?".

"I thought, since you asked me to come to New York. . . I. . " Newt shrugged, "I was wondering if I could talk to you about it".

"About the trip?" Tina said.

"Yes" he replied.

Tina sat down, across him and intertwined her fingers. Ever since the hospital incident, they resorted to become a bit. . . distant.

"Well, are you coming?" Tina asked, directly.

"Yes, if you w-want me to be there" Newt stammered, "I'm sorry, I don't think I should-- after the--".

"Newt, it's fine" Tina retorted, "It's fine. We're okay. I'm fine".

"I'm so sorry".

"It's alright. I know you hate my job, but it's fine. It's not like I expect you to" Tina shrugged.

"No, Tina, it isn't that way" Newt began.

"I clearly remember what you meant, Mr Scamander. I don't think you should . . " Tina started.

"Tina, please listen to me" Newt begged.

"Okay, you have my full attention" Tina folded her arms.

"Tina, I can't do this. I don't hate Aurors. I just hate a few of them who promote wars and violence. You are not one of them, Tina" Newt said, his eyes begging for forgiveness, "You're so much more than just an Auror. You're smart, brave, daring and helpful. You make the rules and sometimes you break them. . "

"I know my potential, Newt" Tina said, "What is your point?".

"My point is, I like you because you're different. I hate to compare you with the others, because you've so much more to offer" Newt said, "And, I respect your job and your commitment. You are something else, Tina".

The words hit her heart. She made an impact?

"And, I hope you take my apology to be worthy and . . . forgive me" Newt said, bowing his head low.

"Newt, you snake!" Tina scoffed, exasperated, "How can I almost never get mad at you?".

Newt gave her a mischievous smile, "Maybe I'm that good with apology?".

"Maybe you're manipulating me, you fool!" Tina punched his arm playfully, "Nevertheless, I'm still not over it".

"I'm sorry. I'll do anything to make it up to you" Newt promised her, with a small grin.

"Anyway, we'll save that conversation later" Tina got up, "I hate this dress".

"Why? You look absolutely beautiful, like an unicorn" Newt said, "Why doubt yourself?".

"I dunno, like, I wouldn't wear this often and I look like a hobo, so" Tina lamented, "I don't know why I picked this out".

"Tina, you're wonderful and mysterious, like a Zouwu. Your face shines brighter than the Sun and you have a headstrong personality like a Chimaera" Newt listed his creatures, "And best of all, you soar higher than a dragon".

Tina let out a small chuckle, "Aren't Chimaeras dangerous?".

"You appear dangerous. But you're a huge angel inside. Just like a Chimaera" Newt said.

Did he just call me an angel. . ?

"This is why you're a devilish little Niffler" Tina said, ruffling his hair, "You know how to get to me".

"Like you said, I'm a Niffler. I am a good chaser" Newt smiled, "and Hufflepuffs are good finders. I found you".

"And Thunderbirds seek adventure" Tina took a step closer towards him, "My life's been an adventure since I met you".

"Aw, can't we get any more cheesier?" Newt chuckled, "Are we going to be this sappy?".

"Hey, we're not so bad compared to Jacob and Queenie. They're literally crying over chocolate chip cookies" Tina said.

"Biscuit".

"What?" Tina didn't catch that.

"It's a biscuit and not a cookie" Newt said, gritting his teeth, "A cookie seems childish".

"A biscuit sounds serious enough for a tasty snack" Tina said.

"It's a biscuit, Tina. Not a cookie".

"Nuh, uh, it's a cookie. A biscuit sounds way too much" Tina placed her hands on her hips, giving him her trademark look.

"A cookie seems like a made up word that little kids use!"

"A biscuit is what you call a cookie when you introduce it to narrow minded people!"

"Well am I narrow minded?"

The argument went on, but neither of them felt like they were actually midst of a couple's argument. It seemed pointless and immature, but that's how they liked it.

"Okay, we're pinning this argument too. We're going to pick this up later" Tina warned.

"Only losers say so" Newt winked.

"Hey!" Tina punched his arm, again.

After a moment of coming back to reality, the duo couldn't handle the increase in the tension. They swooped down to hug each other, tightly.

Newt settled his hands on her waist, pulling her closer as Tina allowed her hands to tangle in his hair.

"What are we, Newt?" Tina chuckled softly.

"We're two different people, brought together" Newt answered, vaguely.

"That's what they all say" Tina said, "Thinking about us makes me worry all over again".

"You don't have to worry about a thing, my dearest" Newt soothed her, "I'm always here, for you".
