Just can't stop thinkin' about you

"And now she's blowing up my fuckin' phone talkin' bout the baby mine. Bruh I ain't ever fucked a hoe without a wrapper so I know she a damn lie!"

I threw my head back onto my office chair and laughed uncontrollably at Freaky's story.

For the past few days him...and all of the guys as a matter of fact, have conjugated in my office during random times of the day to talk to me about their problems.

I don't know when my office became a hangout or when I became a therapist but for some reason they were always in here.

I wiped the tears that started to form at the corner of my eyes and responded, "Well you can always get a DNA test if you don't believe her"

"Fuck that. It's the principal Laya. That bitch wanted to get pregnant", he said while shaking his head.

"Well maybe you should stop having sex with strippers. Because this doesn't sound like the first time something like this has happened." I retorted smartly.

"That ain't never gon fucking happen". Jay exclaimed while laughing. "Ain't nothing this nigga like more than fucking hoes and pregnancy scares. I swear he wants another bad ass kid."

"Nigga fuck you! My kid ain't bad, he just got ADD. And I'd cut my dick off before I have another kid with a bum ass mama. Fuck outta hear speakin that shit on me" Freaky said after him.

I couldn't help but laugh again. These guys were funny. I've never been around people like them in my life. It was entertaining to hear about their dramatic lives. From baby mama drama to stories about court cases, I'm pretty sure I'd heard it all.

"So Laya you gon be at the party tonight?", Shoota asked while sipping whatever was in his double cup.

They loved wasting cups.

East was having a small party at the penthouse tonight to celebrate an artist's album release. It was my job to plan and organize it but I had no intentions on staying for the festivities.

"Nah I'm just there to set up and then I have homework to do", I responded smoothly.

He laughed and shook his head. "You always trying to avoid us. You just be using us for jokes then you dip. Why can't we be friends with ya bougie ass?" Shoota responded seriously.

I busted out into laughter because he was so serious about what he was saying. I honestly didn't mean to act so stuck up around them. I'm just not that comfortable yet.

A few seconds later my office door opened to reveal an irritated East with a sleeping Kairi in his arms.

"Why y'all niggas in here messing with my assistant? She got shit to do and I'm pretty sure y'all do to." East spoke up with a mug on his face.

"Nigga first of all we don't work here, so you can't tell us what the fuck to do. Second of all Laya be multitasking so we not bothering her. Ain't that right Laya?" Freaky said as a matter of fact.

Shoota hit him in the back of his head, causing him to mutter expletives while I snickered at their behavior.

"Man we was just bout to leave anyway. Laya I expect to see you there having fun with the rest of us. Imma even roll ya bougie ass a blunt.", Shoota said casually as they all walked out.

I turned my attention to East. "How may I help you?", I asked playfully while leaning over my desk. I instantly checked myself for my behavior and adjusted by sitting back in my chair.

Girl this is your boss. Act like you have some sense.

Ever since the incident the night I moved in, East and I have been friendly, one might even say a bit flirty. I didn't even mean to flirt with him sometimes, his presence just made me become this other person.

Kairi's also been spending a lot of time with me. East told me about her mom and grandma being away, and with him needing help, I just stepped in. It was kinda my job after all.

"Do you mind keeping her in here? I've got that meeting with my sound engineer and her mom should be by to pick her up at any minute." he said while placing Kairi on the plush leather sofa in my office.

"Yeah of course. It's no problem Ea-", I responded.

"Dave" he said while smirking.

I rolled my eyes, "It's no problem Dave but I'm leaving at 4:00 today to set up for the party, so let me know if you'll be done by then."

He looked at the Patek on his wrist and said, "It's 2:00 now, so her mom should be here soon. I'll come and get her."

I nodded my head and he walked out of my office.

An hour later, Kairi was still sound asleep and I was finalizing the last details for tonight when Eva called my phone.

"Hey Ev-", I barely got the words out of my mouth before I was interrupted by obnoxiously loud screaming on the other end of the phone, muffling Eva's voice.

I pulled the phone from my ear and winced, "Hello?! Hello Eva? What the hell is going on?!"

"Ma'am if you could give me one min- Bitch I said give me a goddamn minute! Allaya, East's baby mama is out here screaming like a fucking fool and I can't deal with this."

I looked at my phone in bewilderment. I never heard Eva so angry before.

"Ok I'm coming now." What the hell am I getting into.

I stood up and pulled down my hoodie. I made sure that Kairi was still asleep before I made my way to the reception area. People were already poking their heads out of their offices, trying to see what the drama was about. That meant soon enough this lady would be interrupting studio sessions and meetings. We had too many high profile clients for her to be in here acting the ass.

I approached Eva's desk to only see her standing up with her arms folded and headset askew, while another lady stared daggers at her from the opposite side.

She was pretty. Light skin and thick in all of the right places. Her platinum blonde hair had to be at least 30 inches and hung effortlessly down her back in a set of crimped waves. She wore a simple but cute white lounge set and a denim jacket with what looked to be Chanel slides and a matching bag.

She was too cute to be acting a complete ass in a place of business. Being loud and dumb over nothing. I hate to see it.

"Hi there. What seems to be the problem?" I smiled and spoke professionally.

She looked at me from the Vans on my feet all the way up to the top knot on my head, and did it again, before turning back to Eva.

"So you brought this big bitch here instead of East to give me my fucking child?! Yo I didn't ask for fucking security, go find my daughter hoe."

I scoffed slightly at her remarks and tried to maintain my professional decorum. It was no way in hell I was gonna stoop down to her level.

"Um ok. I'm Allaya Daniels, Dave's assistant", I stuck my hand out for her to take it but she just looked down at it in disgust.

Slightly embarrassed I rubbed my hands on my thighs and spoke again.

"He's in a meeting right now, but I can assure you that he'll be out soon. If you follow me this way I can-"

"Look bitch I don't care. Get him out now!" she said screaming again.

Alright this is ghetto. She doesn't know me. I don't know her and there was no reason why we could not act like adults.

There were about five people in the reception area along with a handful of employees looking onward at the drama unfolding.

"Ma'am, if you could please just let me finish. I can get Kair-"

Suddenly her wrinkly ass hand flew in the front of my face, blocking my view of her.

"I don't care what you have to say bitch. Go get East.", she exclaimed while looking at her long ass nails.

Ok I've had it. The hand in my face was disrespectful and I can't tolerate disrespect.

"You got just about one more bitch in you before I knock all ya teeth down ya fuckin troat. Choose ya next set of words wisely babes." I said lowly, my accent coming out fully.

Anger radiated throughout me while I fisted my hands at my side. I was a very nice person. I didn't curse in front of others. I never lost my cool. But the hand in my face struck a nerve. It was something I saw my dad do to my mom way too often.

Eva chuckled and tried to mask it by covering her mouth.

East's baby mama looked taken aback before she raised her hand to put it in my face again.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?" a deep voice I knew all too well boomed throughout the room.

I looked between Eva, Millie and Allaya trying to figure out why the hell was there so much chaos in my fuckin' studio.

I just got out of a meeting about my new EP with my sound engineer and Wayno, and walked out the boardroom to a whole lot of noise in the reception area and my employees out of their offices looking on. This was not love and fuckin' hip hop and I didn't need this stress in my life.

I mugged the fuck out of Mille waiting on an answer while Allaya's eyes seemed to be glued to the floor.

"Well I came to pick up Kairi when this rude ass hoe in the reception area wouldn't let me in the back. Then this woman who claims to be your assistant, threatened me. I don't know what kind of business you're running here East but this shit is unprofessional as fuck." she said while smacking her lips.

I looked at Laya who was muggin' at Millie. I scrubbed my hands over my face in irritation.

"Laya I don't know what the fuck is going on out here but I expect you to act like a fucking professional at work! I don't know how they do it where you're from but that ghetto shit don't fly here. Go get Kairi and then wait in my office. " I grunted.

I'm pissed this shit went down in my place of business. Regardless of the way Millie was acting Laya should've known better.

She looked at me like I had lost my mind but then transformed it into a mug of her own and stomped in the direction of her office.

"I told you before about coming here with all that ghetto shit Millie. I was in a meeting and Kairi was in my assistant's office. All you had to do was ask for her."

She approached me slowly and attempted to put her hand on my chest before I took a step back.

"I know East and I was trying to ask for help before those two attacked me. I just wanna see my baby." she pouted.

I sucked my teeth. I knew Millie's game too well. The woman that I was once engaged to and the mother of my child was a master manipulator and a bitch too.

Laya came back with a now fully awake Kairi before walking off.

"Say goodbye to daddy baby" Millie said while I lifted her in my arms.

"Bye bye daddy", Kairi murmured sleepily against my neck.

Hearing her voice just melted away all the stress from my day. I kissed her forehead and handed her back to her mom before they both left.

"Get back to fuckin' work!", I screamed at my employees. I didn't pay them to sit around and be nosey. I had clients in here that were in recording sessions and I was fuming at the thought of them hearing this.

I marched to my office ready to give Laya a peace of my mind when I noticed she wasn't there.

I walked a few dooors down to her office and noticed her lights off and things gone. Then I went to reception to ask Eva.

"She went home to prepare for the party East. Maybe you should try listening to her first before ripping her a new one." Eva said without looking at me.

"You better watch it or you're next." I muttered before walking away.

I took my phone out of my pocket and tried to call Laya but she kept declining me.

I don't know why, but I was eager to apologize for my actions. I shouldn't have freaked out on her in front of all those people.
