"Where are we going?" I asked him
Carlos made a couple of turns before we pulled up to a familiar area "Somewhere it's safe to talk"
He parked the car looking up I see my apartment complex, this nxgga. He could've told me we were going back to my shit. Climbing out the car we walked thru the lobby, the guy at the front desk gave me a look before waving to which u returned. He probably things I'm finna fuck Carlos, I don't care to correct it because it ain't his business what I do with who or what. Entering the elevator I pressed my floor button, moments later I heard a soft 'ding' as the elevator doors opened. Stepping out I lead him to my apartment unlocking it walking in first, he followed after me locking the door behind himself. I sat on my couch staring at him.
"Big Z put me up to watch over you I gotta protect you, especially since you been around Kaere it's gonna make you a target. At first Ian wanna do it cuz' I wasn't finna be nobody babysitter but it's the least I could do for familia, watch out for him and his" Carlos explained they his thick accent taking a seat next to me
I shook my head looking up then back at him "Of course Alzmir did, he still treats me like a child"
Carlos played with a strain of my hair "It mean he cares 'bout you"
I side eyed him removing my hair from his fingers "You not gonna ask before you touch?"
He slowly licked his lips looking me up and down "My fault, your hair looks shiny"
"Yea it's called moisturizer" I laughed
"Z you're pretty and imma be around a lot so we best friends now" He shrugged

Ou the way this man is looking at me he fine as hell, might ride his face a little. I can't help but feel like he has an alternative doing this though. It can't all just be for Alzmir, I know loyalty runs deep but he's literally going out of his way for Alzmir maybe he owes him. I'm not sure but I don't fully trust Carlos call it a gut feeling.
"You tryna?" He said looking downwards towards my pearl his tongue slowly gliding across his bottom lip
I mushed just arm "Boy stop I still don't know you like that"
He lightly pulled jus bottom lip in his mouth "I can think of a way for me to get to know you"
I smiled rolling my eyes "Carlos what you tryna do"
He chuckled "I think you kno', it involves you sitting on my face"
"Like I said I don't know you like that to be doing allat" I told him
This man was fine but I have morals, I just met him I'm not about to let him do none of that. For the next couple of hours we talked and watched a movie, he's really cool and I like him so far.
"I'm tryna watch something else" Carlos said wiping his face with one hand "It's too much feelings in this sappy shit"
I raised my eyebrow handing him the remote "Then what you tryna watch?"
He grabbed it searching through Netflix "Shit Ion kno' "
Carlos put some show I've never heard of "This shit good, you-"
His phone rang cutting him off "Hello?" He answered
I watch his body language change to more serious and tense "Hold on-" he hung up getting up from the couch "Aight Z I gotta go I'mma see you in a lil"

"Finally" I signed
He looked fake hurt and gasped "Just like that? Wow I thought we had something"
I got up pushing him out the door "Bye Carlos"
I looked it behind him going back to sit on my couch.
I walked down the hall to the elevator "Hello? Hey boss, I got in I'm gathering intel on Kaere through her"
"Aight, keep it up update me" He said through the phone
"Copy" I said before hanging up walking into the elevator shortly after walking through the lobby and out the doors
Climbing in my car I pulled off, time for me to get shit done.

This is the sequel to The Gray Mage, however, reading it is not required to understand this story. Deciding to allow humans a chance at having a wished granted or a question answered, Rynovar created a quest fifty years into his reign. Upon completing the quest, those who undertook it would be granted an audience with him and permission to make a single request or ask a single question. However, two and a half centuries after he issued the quest, none had succeeded and the quest was believed impossible, several stages of it having never before been completed. When nineteen-year-old Cyrus met Lyda at a restaurant, he broke the norm of his life cleaning up his brothers' messes and keeping them behaving to avoid causing issues for the public. Upon hearing her desire to earn enough money to attempt Rynovar's quest, Cyrus chose to help her complete what was believed to be one of the quests' impossible stages, revealing that he himself had a question for the god he wanted answered...

Starlight Antiquities
There is a place in the galaxy that deals in antiquities of all kinds, human and non-human alike. Its inventory of artifacts is colossal as is its inventory of mercs who they hire to acquire any artifact a client may wish that is yet to come into their possession. The ill-reputable business is constantly rubbing against the changing tolerance of the Union's government, and there are many security officers who would love nothing better than to vaporize the whole place with its owners inside. Yet, there are many tasks that nobody can do better, especially in the vastness of deep space where Union law is worth less than the energy needed to display it. One of its jobs involves finding an artifact that may not only hold the future of the human race but may also disturb the balance of the whole galaxy. *** While waiting for the next season of Mandalorian and the Witcher, and rewatching Firefly for the gazillionth of time, I decided to write this space-based series. The series has some litRPG elements in it, but it does not read like one. So, you won't run into any blue screens here. Yet, I wanted to use litRPG to give another dimension to this whole story and make it as unique as possible. This is a work-in-progress. Hope to keep on improving and fixing my mistakes as I go along.

Point of View
Adrian Shepherd is alive in Santa Monica. Successfully fleeing from the target zone of a nation-wide terroristic threat was not easy, nor did it come free. Adrian had to abandon parents who turned deaf ears, but even more heart-crushing was leaving behind someone who meant the world to Adrian, someone who he had shared his whole life with. Now, he survives with broken memories chasing him. Confliction turns him from wanting to live and wanting to die. Guilt wretches him as he craves the forgiveness he can never have. Maybe tomorrow will bring a brighter day, or maybe more problems. **Cover Photo is Temporary** **I would say the story has light gore and traumatizing events, to the point that I originally didn't check the content warnings. Be advised.**
