"I promise I was going to tell you." Eragon blurs out as I start to walk away. He had hesitated too long after I asked him.

"Yeah when?" I shout over my shoulder.

"Untill I thought you were in love with me or could at least see me as more than a friend." He yelled back, I could here his footsteps as he scuffed up the dirt and leaves when he raced after me.

His hand circled my arm and he tugged me around to face him, "Look I have known we were soulmates since the fire festival. I know I should have told you way sooner and I'm so sorry you found out this way. You aren't obliged to start anything with me if you don't want to. Nobody knows we're soulmates so its a private affare"

I nod my head in understanding and my upset drained out of me. "Eragon... I like you, I have feelings for you, you'r a great guy. Just give me some time to think about this and we can see where it goes."

We gave eachother strained smiles.

When we got back to the camp and had built the fire all we had to do was light it. Morena looked at Eragon expectantly.

" What?" he asked.

" Light it then." She said with a flick of her wrist.

A fliker of sadness crossed his face before he hid it behind the clam wall of a neutral expression. " I can't, my magic isn't working."

" Luna can just chainge into a dragon and breath fire on the sticks." Lysandria said.

I took afew steps back and changed. when I had Lysandria let out a bark of laughter. I had transformed into a green meter long dragon.

"Why are you so small?" Moreana asked.

" There is no point in being a huge dragon if she is only lighting a small fire." Eragon replyed.

I huffed a breath of fire onto the pile of sticks. The crack of the fire told me I could change back. But I couldn't. I just couldn't. I looked at Eragon.

I can't Change back. I'm stuck.

I started spinning round in a circle in a panic.

I cant change! I can't Chainge! I can't chainge! I was mentally Shouting at Eragon.

Its ok. Calm down. If you panic it will be worse.

I stopped spinning and looked up at Eragon. I looked in his eyes and lost myself in them. I compleatly relaxed and then the tingerling feeling ran down my spine and I was back to normal.

The next morning I asked where we were going and what the plan was.

"From here we will go to the coast to get a boat to go across the sea to Ethanaka. Then we will go to the Hiykan mounting and then meet with the Hiykan dwellers and they will take us to The Core and we shall set it right and restore balance." Morenna said simply.

The long days of riding gave me lots of time to think.

I did have feelings for Eragon. I could easierly enter a relationship with him.

"Eragon. What would happen if I did diside to be your soulmate?"

"Well, first I would give you jewelry to show my interest. Then I would ask you to mate me. We would go in front of a judge and sign a peace of parchment paper and that's about it."

My hand goes to my necklace he had given me ages ago. "Like this?" I showed him.

"Yes." He said as he looked away.

We both went quiet.

Deep down I knew what I wanted to do and that I should just do it and no matter how long I thought about it the answer was still going to be the same.

"Where can we find the nearest judge?"

He looked at me suddenly shock covering his face with an undercurrent of hope in his eyes.

"About another half days ride." He answers with a little hesertation.

Later that day I was dressed in white. Standing in front of a judge.

"Do you Eragon Caligo Nox, agree to take Luna Iris Ferradonna as your soulmate?"

"I do."

"And do you Luna Iris Ferradonna agree to take Eragon Caligo Nox as your soulmate?"

"I do."

Thoes two words will define my future forever.

We went into the little village, hand in hand, to look for an inn.

We found one and rented a room.

The next morning we woke cuddled together and a few hours later got dressed to leave.

"Have a nice everning?" Lyssandria said with a laugh, when we met them at the stables.

My face heated and I looked away.

"We had better get going." Ereagon said as he packed his saddle bag with more food.

"Its another days ride to the coast." Morena said before I could ask. She seemed a bit aggitated and kept looking around.

"Whats wrong Morena?" I gently asked. Her head whipped back to look at me. She winced, like I had just caught her doing something bad.

"I just feel paranoid. Like something significant is about to happen. Something life chainging." Her voice had driftted off untill it was so quiet I had to strain to here it.

I looked to Eragon, the feeling of trepidation crawled it's way across my back. He came over too me.

"Whatever it is, it will be ok." He gently took my hand and stroked his thumb over it. He lead me over to his horse and helped me up, then swung up himself behind me. His arms came around me and pulled me close. He tenderly kissed my neck then urged the horse forward.

I saw Lysandea grab my horse as she passed it and after she climbed on top of hers and tugged my horse behind her.

Eragon and I lead the way then it was Morena and lastly it was Lysandea.

We were all silent watching the plane fields go by. Nothing distinct enough to focus on.

The steady thuds of the horse's hooves on the path made my eyes lids heavy and my body relax against Eragons walm chest. Before I knew it I had been lulled into a deep sleep.
