《Elves Of Old Series : Unforeseen Events》Chapter 8 A New Star

It was weeks before the next time B.G dragged me out of my cell. In those weeks Eragon came to my cell every day and would stay for hours. We would talk about loads of things from our favourite books to his inner circle and sometimes my life before I came to Pyrinthia.
We were talking about the time Alex crashed her car because she was avoiding a duckling that was on the road, when B.G's hooves could suddenly be heard.
We stopped laughing, looking at each other with wide eyes, Eragon ran out of the cell. B.G's ugly face appeared, and he stomped in. Without a word he gripped me and pulled me out the room.
I was pushed into a foul smelling stable and was told I had two hours to muck out fifty horses. It was an impossible task. When B.G left he shouted over his shoulder, "The stables have a barrier around it so no lord can help you now."
Sighing in resignation to myself I tried to get as many horses done as I could before B.G got back. I would not go down without a fight.
Big Ugly arrived and inspected my work, "Pathetic" He sneered. His friends appeared and proceeded to hit me, scratch me until they drew blood and say awful things about me. I endured it all.
After what felt like hours, I was semi-conscious and covered in a mix of mud, blood and worse, I was taken back to my cell.
I woke the next morning feeling awful. My body peppered with bruises and I had a throbbing feeling in my head. Raising my head ever so slightly I could see the familiar outline of Eragon.
Noticing I was awake he came and crouched next to me. He put one of his cold hands on my head and said quietly, "I was worried the fever wouldn't break" he lent back, "You've been out for three days and your arm is infected and getting worse." I looked down and to my horror saw that my right arm had a thick black line down the middle going from a couple inches below my elbow pit to my wrist. All around the black line the skin was a greeny grey shade and it had small dark lines coming from it. I felt queasy just looking at it.

"We both know it's killing you" said Eragon , I pulled my eyes back up to his, "I could heal it for you, but it would go deep into my magic reserves and significantly weekend me in the proses."
"A bargain then." I said without thinking.
"If I heal you what will I get in return?"
"I'll um" I stopped to think, with the pain now coursing through my arm it was hard to do that.
"When we get out of this hell hole, you could spend the last week every month with me at the night court" Eragon suggested. Feeling too week to negotiate I agreed.
We shook hands but as soon as his skin touched mine, a huge wave of agony exploded in my arm. Crying out in pain I closed my eyes trying to stop tears from running down my face.
The pain suddenly subsided and Eragon collapsed on the floor, looking grey and sweating. I rushed to his side, feeling oddly refreshed and awake. Breathing heavily, he faintly said, "C-can I draw on some of your power to stop myself from passing out?" I quickly agreed.
With the colour back in his face we leant against the wall together. "Do you have enough strength to get back to your room or do you want to sleep here for a bit." I asked
"I can go back to my rooms if you want. Its your space you can choose who stays in it."
"I think you should say here, I wouldn't want you passing out."
"Or would you just miss me?" he said with a slightly flirty tone.
"In your dreams" I said laughing, I looked down at my arm, there was no trace of the infection but in the dim light I saw a shape. A star tattoo. "What's this?" I demanded.

Eragon looked at my wrist and said casually, "It's a star tattoo" seeing my expression he continued, "When you make a bargain in my court you get a tattoo until both sides have been fulfilled."
"Why didn't you tell me before?" Only slightly annoyed because it looked pretty cool.
"You didn't ask"
Scowling, I gently shoved him. Wanting for time to magically go quicker I then shifted into a better position to sleep.
The next morning, after had Eragon left, B.G came and said, "Your third and final task is here." I dusted myself off and followed him out the cell, glancing over my shoulder, I looked back at my cell. I would never come back to this place no matter what happened today. The thought settled on me and I felt a weight in my stomach like lead.
Trying to shrug it off I ran to catch up with B.G.
I was placed in a room facing three leavers. The lords were watching me as I tried to make a decision. One leaver would set everyone free, the other two would kill me. The question was which two.
"Three stupid tasks, two deadly leavers, one decision." Eragon's voice echoed in my head.
"What the hell?" My head whipped around to glare at Eragon.
"Just trying to help."
"Well shut up, your distracting me."
I felt his presence leave my head. I reached towards the leaver on the right. Just before I touched it a pain shot up my arm, I snatched my hand away. I reached again and the same thing happened.
I reached for the leaver on the far left. Nothing happened. Reaching to the middle leaver, the same pain I felt with the first went through me. Grabbing the one on the left I sharply pulled it down.
I looked up to see Cassandra's face full of horror before she exploded. Her blood showed everything. From the ceiling to the floor.
Wiping blood from my face I could feel a sort of strength course through me. All the lords looked like they had the same feeling. They tested there magic and most of them dashed out the room to get back to there courts but not without saying a quick thank you to me.
I was approached by Arramen, Who threw his arms around me. Kissing me all over my face he took my hand and told me would go back to the summer court and stay together for ever.
The sinking feeling got worse. He thought I did this because I loved him. That made my guilt in putting him and everyone else in this predicament even worse, practically nauseating.
"I have to ask Lord Gangly something before we go." I said when he began to pull me from the room. Slipping my hand from his I ran to Lord Gangly. And said I had a request from him, after a quick discussion he agreed. So, I went to join Arramen and we left Under the Mountain for good.
