《Elves Of Old Series : Unforeseen Events》Chapter 5 Back To The Mortal Realm

In the few months that followed Arramen and I became very close. We slowly went from being just friends to being unofficially dating. We went out a couple of times but never kissed. He seemed like he wanted me to make the first move but I was to nervous to. I stated to feel like I had found a new home that I got in with perfectly. I began riding on the woods more and more often. That was exactly what I was doing on this particular day.

Riding at full speed through the forest I had come to know like the back of my hand. I found a small clearing and stopped to get off. I just stood there breathing in the fresh air. The slightest rustling of leaves was all the warning I got before I was jumped on by at least 20 knee high goblins. I was pulled over and my back hit the hard ground with so much force I was winded. They were trying to drag me away. Screaming and thrashing I felt the tingles again but only a bit stronger.

Arramen burst through the trees and bushes. Throwing his telekinesis over the goblins he ripped them away from me. I stood and brushed the leaves off me.

"I want to go back to the mortal realm" I spoke without thinking. Looking up Arramen looked like a kicked puppy.

"If you truly wish it then fine" there was a slight bitterness to his tone.

The morning after he got his golden carriage and attached my bags with all the clothes and trinkets I wanted to take with me.

We arrived at the spot we had first met. He looked down at me. He leaned in for a kiss but I leaned away. Stepping out of his hold I turned. "I'll miss you" I said over my shoulder. I stepped through the cave entrance without any hesitation.

I walked out and it was dark. Night time? I was very confused, in Pyrinthia it was the middle of the day. I looked down and saw I was wearing the dress I had worn at the summer ball. The blue lights showed up again and just like last time I followed them but this time I concentrated on where I was going, trying to memorize the path back to the cave. When the school came into sight I hid my bags behind some foliage. Out of the front exit of the main hall I saw my friends looking very worried. I ran to join them.

"Oh my god Lu! There you are!" Exclaimed Alex.

" We have been looking for you for hours" cried Charlie

"No one has seen you since 10 it's now 2 in the morning" Danny said with a yawn.

"Sorry I saw Jack and Peyton kissing and needed some air" it was probably the worst excuse I had ever come up with. Thankfully they seemed to accept it.

That night I had a dream about the summer court being attacked by monsters in black leather jackets with red swirls on the back.

I say bolt upright shaking a cold sweat running down my back. I had only been asleep for a little while. I had to get back to Pyrinthia. It was such a strong feeling it shocked me. I wrote a quick note to my parents that I would be staying with a sick friend for a couple of days, so they wouldn't worry, and ran out the house.

Coming up towards the school I found my clothes from Pyrinthia and changed into them. Then I retraced my steps back to the cave and entered as quickly as I could.

Walking out of the cave mouth, I groaned remembering I did not have any transport and that the walk to the Manor was long and would suck so much. Signing in resignation I trudged through the field.

The Manor came into view. I gasped. It was no longer the beautiful house I had become so accustom to. It was wrecked. All the ivory had been stripped away and dumped on the ground. The once beautiful door was not more it was half hanging of its hinges and had deep scratches and chunks of wood gauged out of it. Slowly making my way into the house I looked around. Tables had been turned and vases had been shattered completely covering the floor. It was so dark inside none of the light seemed to get inside even though the curtains had been ripped to shreds. The chandelier was broken and scattered across the mess. The room was a shell of what it one was.

Soft footsteps came up behind me. The feeling of trepidation and adrenalin shot through me as I turned quick enough that I thought I might get whip lash. Gredwin stood behind me tears running down her face. Bruises were visible on her face and on her wrists as if she had been hit and grabbed.

"They did this a few weeks after you left. All you had to do was give him a kiss by your own free will and the stupid deal would be broken." Her tears came heavier now.

" What deal? " I asked confused

"The deal Cassandra and Arramen made when he refused to show any feelings towards her advances on him. When he told her to leave him alone she got angry and she told him that if he didn't get a mortal to give him a kiss by their own free will by her 200th birthday then he would have to become her lover then husband. He was taken by force and all the other lords were also taken to Under the Mountain."

" Take me there. " I said surprising myself at the words.

"No." She said shortly.

" I need to go and help them. And as you implied it is all my fault that he is there and I would feel really guilty of I did nothing about it. "

After a shot pause and a loud sigh she agreed to take me there.

"Just you mind I will not under any circumstances enter her territory. I will leave you at the border then go up Ulysses passage."

Thanking her for even taking me that far I helped pack anything we could salvage and left.

Once arriving at the border we hugged and said our goodbyes.
