"What? Did you look into the washroom?" I asked, bewildered by the unexpected news. Leanne was usually very composed and the responsible one, even if she liked to throw it down from time to time.
"I checked everywhere! I even snatched the mic from the DJ to look for her. She's not here Y/N" Annanya said, Her voice had a hint of fear in it.
"Well, we have to find her! Maybe she went back to Hogwarts?" Astoria spoke up.
"She would have told us before she left." I replied softly trying to ignore my head ache.
Then it felt as if I couldn't hear a thing. Only the ringing sound that was going through my brain. A sharp pain overtook my thoughts as I clutched the side of my head and fell down with my back slumped against the wall. I put my hands over my ears as I heard a voice. The voice sounded inhuman, almost... snakelike.
"Y/N, You must be worried sick about your little mudblood friend, my child. I offer my most sincere condolences. She was, in fact, really valuable to you I presume? If you want to save that filthy girl you will come to Malfoy manor, tonight."
The voice finally stopped and I came back to my senses, my head still pounding. I was on the floor, my vision dazed before becoming clear again. Annanya and Astoria were bent over me, their eyes swimming with worry.
"Malfoy Manor. She's at my house. Voldemort is keeping her captive." I said urgently. "Wait, how do you-" Astoria started asking me but was cut off with me waving her down saying that I would explain everything later. Right now we need to save Leanne.
We clamored into the corner standing close to each other before linking our arms. A darkness engulfed us, A force felt as if it was forcing the air out of our lungs. Then it all stopped. We stumbled over slightly seeing the dark manor come into view.
The grass we were standing on was wet from the dew. The lawn leading up to the dark metal gates. We withdrew our wands and started moving forward cautiously, snapping our heads in every direction.
As we neared the gate we held up our right hands in a kind of salute and walked through the gate as if it were smoke. We quietly walked the path to the larger than average front doors. I slowly pushed the door, slightly creaking on its hinges.
The house looked like something out of a horror movie. There were no lights that were lit, only the moonlight coming in through the windows giving the floors an eerie look. The furniture was covered with white sheets. I was very confused to say the least.
We walked down the hallway before moving into the meeting room. It was void of any signs of life. The same was for the kitchen and the living area. We were starting to get impatient when we heard a terrible drawn out scream from below that made the blood in my veins run cold.
We all looked at each other with horror stricken faces. I made a dash to the door of the basement knowing well that's where the sound came from. With Ananya and Astoria not far behind me I burst through the door and ran down the stairs. The view I saw was something I would never want to see in my life. All the colour from my face drained.
Leanne. She was laying on the floor, her skin looking ice cold. Her hair was in knots and as my eyes traveled down I saw her arm. There was blood all over it, the word clearly etched into her skin,

MUDBLOOD.
I looked at the blade that had caused this damage, the tip dripping with blood. The person holding it let out a loud cackle. Camellia. She looked worse then she had the last time I'd seen her. Her eyes had big black bags under them. Her hair looked like it hadn't been brushed in weeks. Compared to her current state, Bellatrix looked pretty.
I heard simultaneous gasps from behind me. "Leanne!" Ananya screamed trying to run towards her but I stopped her with my arm. We all pointed our wands at camellia before she spoke,
"I wouldn't do that If I were you."
"And why is that?"
"You see, I have a blade in my hand that is very well capable of ending your little friend's life in less than a minute."
We all looked at each other before lowering our wands and putting them on the floor in front of us. Camellia let out another cackle before moving away from Leanne. Annaya ran forward and cradled her head in her lap.
"Do what you want to me, but leave my friends out of this!" I screamed at her. She looked in my direction with sunken eyes and said, "I won't be the one sweetie! He will!" She pointed to a door in the far end of the room.
It opened as I squinted to see who it was. It was a man wearing black robes with a very clear death eater mask on his face. I stood rooted to the spot as the man slowly lifted the mask to reveal the very familiar face of Mattheo Marvolo Riddle.
My heart sank. It felt as if my whole world was coming crashing down around me. He walked towards me with a somber look on his face. Small tears started to well up in my eyes. How could it be true? The man that I had grown to like, maybe even love. The man that was married to me was standing right in front of my eyes betraying me and my whole trust.
A lump grew in my throat as he came closer to me and I made no effort to move away, I only looked into his face. The man I had given my trust and love to looked back at me with no expression.
So everything. Everything leading up to this moment was a lie. A façade put up by a master manipulator. I felt a pain in my chest remembering that we had finally started to grow close and that all the feelings I thought he had were fake.
My face bore an expression of pain and hurt. He was standing right in front of me now, his curly hair falling into his face like always. "I'm sorry." He lowly whispered into my ear as he moved his hand towards me. I could only glare at him with sadness in my eyes.
He grabbed my wrist and led me to a chair situated near a cauldron that had been lit up. I sat down softly as he grabbed his wand and pointed it at my arms. A brown rope flew out of them and bound my wrists to the armrests. When I didn't resist at all, Mattheo looked shocked for a brief moment. He looked down at me and into my eyes, unable to see exactly how much pain I was in right now.
"Well done my child!" I heard the snakelike voice of Voldemort again. "Very well done, I had never doubted you for even a second. I knew from the day you married her you would be successful."

So this had been going on since the day we got married. I couldn't hold in the tears anymore, I let them flow and stain my cheeks understanding that It was all fake. Each and everything.
"Now, since you have already gotten this far, finish the task." He spoke again, this time holding a knife towards Mattheo with a snake-like handle. Fear settled into my stomach. Was he really going to kill me?
He took the knife from Voldemort with shaking hands and moved towards me. He looked at my tears flowing down, his eyes looked like they were almost sorry. Sorry that I had to grow through this. He moved toward me and my breath hitched as I thought that blade had surely gone though my heart by now but it had not.
He was lightly lifting up my sleeve. I looked at him in utter confusion as he moved it all the way up to my elbow. My wrists still bound, my forearm now bare. He put the tip of the blade right in the middle of the flesh and started moving it down very harshly. I let out a loud scream as he dug the knife deeper. When he was done I looked down to see a long, deep cut on my arm with blood all over.
I felt a cool drop fall on my palm. I looked up to see that it was a tear that had escaped from Mattheo's eye even after his attempts of holding them back. It broke my heart to see him like this.
He smeared a bit of my blood on the knife and moved away towards the cauldron tipping it over, crimson drops falling into the grey bubbling liquid that turned instantly red when it came in contact with my blood.
"Very good Mattheo. Very good. Now Y/N, I suppose you'd want to know what happened? The wand I currently possess is strong, Yes but not strong enough. So I came across this ritual to make the strongest wand in the world but for that I needed the blood of an innocent who had been betrayed. So I put Mattheo up to the task and let me say he delivered amazingly." Voldemort explained.
I only looked at Mattheo the tears now flowing uncontrollably. Voldemort waved his wand and that rid me of the ropes. He walked over to me and held the back of my neck. I winced from the pain as he dragged me over to the cauldron, I tried to pry his hands off me but it was no use.
His fingernails were digging into my skin, no doubt leaving deep scars. He held my head over the hot boiling liquid as I watched. "See what a few drops of your blood can do?" I tried to move my head away but I caught sight of Leanne instead. She was sitting up now, her wand discreetly in her hand pointed towards Voldemort.
I gave her a subtle shake of my head but in the process a few of my tears dropped into the cauldron. The steaming red liquid now turned a cold blue. Voldemort screamed loudly as the fire went out along with his dream of acquiring this wand.
From the other side, Leanne had risen to her feet as she launched a stunning spell towards us. Voldemort tried to throw me into the cauldron as the spell hit him square in the chest. He fell backwards as I tried to keep my balance. I felt a strong arm wrap around my stomach and pull me back. I looked over to see Mattheo standing over me holding me tightly. I kicked his shin as he let go as I ran towards my wand.
I picked it up just as Camellia realized what was happening. She got up and started firing curses at us left and right all the while cackling like the witch she was. We managed to dodge almost all the curses and were running towards the door.
Multiple death eaters ran in and surrounded us, all wearing masks. They started throwing spells at us as we tried our best to fight back, even Mattheo was fighting with us now. A few of them were taken by surprise when they saw Mattheo lift his wand towards them instead of us. I took this golden moment to knock them out.
Annaya, Astoria and Leanne were fighting back bravely. "Reducto!" I yelled, throwing a blue bolt of light towards Camellia which she dodged and it hit the wall instead. The wall came crumbling down as our anger doubled.
"YOU BITCH!" She shrieked and started throwing multiple bolts of bright green light towards us. I looked in her direction and saw one flying right towards me. I felt my chest seize up and fear gripped me before I felt someone pushing me away.
I landed on the floor with Mattheo on top of me, him being the one who pushed me out of the way. It felt as if time was moving in slow motion as I snapped my head to look at the bolt that had almost killed me.
It was heading in the direction of my friends. Leanne turned around and looked at it, her eyes widening right before it hit her straight in the chest. "NO!" I screamed as Leanne's body went limp right in front of my eyes, her wand fell from her hand and her eyes closed before falling onto the floor with a dull thud.
I felt my body burn up as my heart stopped in my chest. No no no no. THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING! "Leanne!" I called out to her without a reply. I felt a fit of rage fill me up as I heard the cackle of camellia.
I rose in my spot, my eyes glowing white a very deep black aura pulsating around me. I rose in the air a few feet. My mind fixed only on revenge. Everyone looked at me in either awe or fear. I lifted the palms of my hands and balled them into fists. All the death eaters including camellia floated into the air before gasping for breath.
I squeezed my fists tighter as the gasping became more frantic and they tried to grab onto thin air in an effort to release their throats. Many of them were now bleeding from their nose. I gave one last squeeze before throwing my palms out.
All of the people went limp as their body's smashed against the wall. I came down from the air and looked around to see all the death eaters and camellia against the walls, their faces blue from the lack of oxygen, very evidently dead.
I stumbled as my feet came in contact with the ground, the last thing I remember before everything went black was multiple people screaming my name.

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above.
