I sit on my bed after Star drives out of the garage, and let out a sigh. I start recalling the events of my first day at school. The face of the rude boy suddenly pops into my mind. Okay, truth be told, that is not just plain rude. He is a handsome, devilish, arrogant rude boy. I hate him, more than yesterday in fact. Today, I just couldn't believe him. Like what you see? Psst. In his dreams indeed.
I get up and head to the bathroom to take a shower. My phone begins ringing when I have just finished. I wrap a towel around my wet body and head to my bed. 'Unknown ID', it reads. I hesitate before hitting the green button and lift the device to my ear. Naturally, I don't say the first hello to an unknown caller. So I remain silent after placing the device on my ear.
"Hello, Erica. It's Moana," says the caller.
"Oh hi, Moana. Wherever you got my number?" I ask, trying to sound nice. I hate it when someone gives away my number.
"I have my ways. So um, do you have anything to do this weekend? Particularly, Friday night?"
"No, not really. Why?"
"Well, I have a sleepover and I would like you to attend. Please. You can come with Star and Candy as well," she pleads.
I let out a sigh, trying to flip my cards right. "I'll think about it."
"I really hope you show up. See you tomorrow." She hangs up. I can literally hear the slight disappointment in her voice.
I really do need to loosen up. I have been pushing people out of my life. I usually never visit people until...I don't know, after 2-3 months of our meeting. I go into my walk-in closet and pick some shorts and a crop top. I'm really not into fashion. Sometimes I fear fashion police may get to me. I decide to do all my week's assignments. I know, I'm kind of a nerd. But at least I get a lot of free time after. I sit at my desk and pull out my books.
I finish my work and it's clocking to 21.00. I look out my window. I hadn't noticed that it was dark already. I go downstairs and grab a sandwich. Back in my room, I brush my teeth, as part of routine, and change into my Minnie mouse PJs. I jump into bed. I toss and turn about in bed for about half an hour. That obnoxious rude boy's face keeps creeping into my mind and it is irritating me. Why is this face in my head? What's his name anyway? I look up at the ceiling with red eyes full of sleep, which refused to come to my rescue. I miraculously drift off to sleep.
At school, I walk to my now sparkling and daffodil scented locker. I put my stuff inside and busy myself with some text book while I wait for the bell to ring. I don't want to go to class early, at least not today.

"Boo!!" A deep voice says behind me, catching me off guard as I jump and my books fall on the floor.
I turn around and look into the blue eyes in front of me. I really don't know what I'm going to do with this guy. "What the hell is wrong with you?" I ask, trying to fight the urge to damage his handsome face with my nails.
He slowly bends down and picks my book, turns it around in his hands, as though inspecting it. He then looks at me, smiles and says, "Morning to you too, sweetheart."
This guy keeps on getting on my nerves. "One, I'm no one's sweetheart and two, it's now a bad morning thanks to you. Now if you may excuse me, I've got class to attend," I retort as I grab my book and slam my locker shut.
I immediately stalk off, leaving him standing there. I hear him chuckle behind me. He's got some nerve.
I enter class just as the bell rings. I take a seat near the back and bury myself in the text book once again, not that it's interesting or anything, but just to pretend.
Students pour into the room. The teacher enters and calls for everyone's attention. That's when I close the book and look around. Every face is new, except for Moana, who is sitting in front of me. I am quite surprised she didn't disturb me when she entered.
Maybe she's pissed about the sleepover thing. Oh, did I mention it, that Riana is also in the same room? Well, she is, but luckily, she's sitting in front. Thirty minutes into the lesson, someone comes and stands at the doorway. I can't quite see who it is from my angle, but anyway.
"Excuse me, may I come in?" A deep voice says.
"Why are you late?" The teacher asks.
"It's none of your business now, is it?" That's when I realise it's Rudy. I never thought he can answer back to a teacher.
The class bursts into laughter. Seriously, there's nothing to laugh about around here. He doesn't wait for the teacher's response as he walks into the room, scans it and finally locks eyes with me. Oh boy!
Riana trys to call him to where she is sitting but he acts like he's not hearing her, walks to where I'm sitting and slides into the empty seat behind me. The teacher doesn't say anything else to him but instead continues with his lesson. Poor guy.
I cautiously realise that most of the female population in the room is looking my way. Hey, wait a minute. They are not looking my way, they are looking his way.
Their painted faces had flirty smiles and batting lashes. Some were flipping their hair in an attempt to make it look the sexy way. Trust me, the sight is sickening. I don't bother to look behind to know what he's doing. I bet he's enjoying all the attention. Don't care.
Minutes later, someone kicks the foot of my seat. I ignore it as I continue reading my novel. Well, I'm a bit of a novel freak. The kicking continues and becomes rapid, beating at a rhythm and it's seriously irritating me. I look behind with an I'm-going-to-murder-you look.

"What?" I spit.
"C'mon sweetheart, don't get all cranky. Just want to tell you I'm bored," he says, a smirk cropping onto his features.
I roll my eyes and face forward again. I hear shuffling and reaping of paper. A couple of seconds later, a piece of paper flies over my shoulder and onto my lap. I debate whether to read it or ignore it because I'm quite sure there's nonsense written. I choose the latter.
A few minutes later, another note flies over and I ignore it as well. Another flies in and this time I let out a frustrated sigh before unfolding it and scribbled in neat handwriting,
*I'm seriously bored. Let's get out of here and go have some fun.*
I look behind, "Are you insane?" I ask. He shrugs. I continue, "Who gave you the idea that I want to go anywhere, much less do anything with you?" He shrugs again. Now this guy is just so annoying. I turn back to my novel.
Ms Jefferson, room 460, report to the principal's office, immediately. A voice comes from the speaker at the front of the room, just above the chalkboard. Hey, that's my classroom number, the very one I'm sitting in right now.
What have I done wrong? I ask myself as I stand to exit the room. I slowly walk through the empty hallway, nearing the principal's office. As I turn around the second last corner, I hear footsteps behind me. Turning around, it's Rudy. I continue walking.
"Hey wait up," he calls.
"What do you want from me now. You heard over the speaker. I'm needed in the principal's office."
"No, you are not."
"Yes, I am." I fold my hands over my chest.
He laughs a little. "Seriously, no one is calling you. What you heard is a little thing I got a few helping souls to do for me so I could get you out of class."
"What?" I can't believe he did that. "You are seriously insane. You know what? I'm going back to class."
I sidestep him but I'm not successful at that. He grabs a hold of my hand and pulls me towards the school entrance. I struggle to free myself from his grip but with no such luck. He is strong alright. He leads us to the parking lot and heads towards a row of posh cars. He presses a button and indicator lights of....a black Porsche bleep. Okay. Never sat in a Porsche before.
He opens the passenger door and tells me to enter. Much as I love sitting in expensive cars, I'm certainly not sitting in this one. He makes me sit, by force. On the contrary, he practically throws me in, buckles my seatbelt and closes the door. He jogs over to the drivers side and immediately after him entering, he locks all doors. No escape.
"You realise this is kidnapping, right? I can sue you for that,' I contemplate.
He just looks at me and smirks. "Not like that's gonna happen."
"You are so full of yourself, you know that? Where are you taking me anyway?"
"Somewhere."
"That's not an answer. Be more specific."
"Why are you always asking questions?"
"Because I always want to know. And how many times have I talked to you to start saying I'm always questioning?"
He lets out a sigh. "See what I mean," he says in a flat bored tone.
I glare at him and stare ahead of us. He stops in front of a Café. We sit in a corner.
"Listen. I want you to take me back to school tight now or else I swear you are going to regret it," I threaten.
His lips tug up in a smirk. That stupid smirk that makes him look like a sex god. What the hell? "C'mon princess, we both know you like this." I can't believe this guy.
"Whoever gave you the idea! Look, I don't know you. I don't even know why you follow me around. Don't get the impression that I like you okay, because I don't."
He looks taken aback for a while before saying, " Princess, I have a girlfriend, alright. My wanting to hung out with you for a while is just to give you some credit. Not everyone gets such luck these days."
I completely didn't expect such a comeback. I feel my heart sink to the tip of my stomach. "Well, I don't want any credits. Now if you will excuse me, I have school to get back to." I stand up and take my leave. I practically run out of the café, hop into a nearby cab and ask the driver to take me back to school.
I feel like crying. I don't know why his words affected me the way they did. Never thought I'd feel like so because of a boy. At school, I go straight to class, bury my head into a novel, which, after a while proves not to be helping escape the earth this time. I go out before students feel the hallway from their lunch break. I find a spot under the stairs, the emergency exit stairs. It feels great having the peace to myself, with no one to run into you, or disturb you or be rude to you. I guess I have found my hideout, if no one else comes here.
I don't even go to meet Star in the bleachers, where we were yesterday afternoon, because I imagined Rudy could show up. I instead sit in my new hideout and wait for the bell to ring. I wait 30 minutes after the bell has rung, and then head to the parking area where Star and dad are waiting.
"Where have you been?" Star begins.
"Not now, Star," I say and enter the car.
"Hey, what's up?" She asks as she takes shotgun.
"Nothing."
