I don't think I have ever seen a Dominican in a Wattpad book. Most of the Caribbean characters are either from Jamaica or Puerto Rico. I would be very happy if I ever see a character from this little island. If you have any questions just message me :)

For me the most important holidays we celebrate are:

RELIGION

Most people here are Christian and Catholic, but that doesn't mean there are other religions and beliefs out there. We are not religious-obsessed people,praying for forgiveness every time we do something wrong. My family is one of those that only goes to church if it's a holiday like Corpus Cristi or if someone dies, no excuse there. I believe in baby Jesus and God, in Adam &Eve and the forbidden tree. But sometimes things get out of line like the apocalypse and the gay being wrong. I honestly don't have a problem with the LGBTQ+ people. If they are happy, I am happy. Their life is not my business.

OUR LOOKS

This is the part where I write about how we look. We don't all have the same skin, eye color or hair color. It all varies. For example, my family is a biracial family. My mom is white with brown hair and my dad is dark-skinned with black hair; my sister has a light brown skin with brown curls and I have golden skin with brown frizzy hair. I bet that in my school, you would so many people from many countries that have different looks. They go from Perú to China, American to Cuban, and even from Russia to Spain.

FOOD

You would have thought that we, Dominicans and Latinos, eat everyday arroz con habichuelas y carne (rice with beans and meat). We do eat that but we also eat Wendy's and Burger King and KFC (these are here too).

MUSIC

I assure you that we don't listen to merengue or salsa, That's not my type of music. We also don't listen to Daddy Yankee's Gasolina everyday (that was like 5 or 6 years ago). Here we listen to all kinds of music, going from pop to rock, reggaeton to latin pop. Mostly teenslisten to reggaeton, though. My friend probably knows the most about this, she listens to reggaeton every afternoon when she is in her way home. Now here I put some of the songs:

OUR WORDS

Now you might be thinking, wtf what is this? And I present you, drum roll please, the words (or curse words) we usually say in our country.

- coño = damn

- papi/mami chulo/a = it means good looking but in a more street way.

- cura = funny.

Example: "¡que cura!" = "so funny!"

- dique = supposedly. Usually people use it when they are gossiping about others.

Example: "Ella dique se metió con un mayor." = "She supposedly kissed a older guy."

- dime ave = what's up

- jablador = liar

- jevi = cool

- chopo = ratchet

- chapiadora o chapi chapi = woman who for money will do anything.

- ofrescome = oh my gosh
