Jared couldn't help but feel a hint of jealousy as he watched Dominic hold Kelsey by his cop car. Jared turned around to find Noah at top of the stairs with his arms crossed. Noah frowned and said,"Is she outside with him?" Jared nodded as Noah said," I figured so. She hasn't dated since they divorced. Mom was always afraid that she'd never date again. When I was mad earlier I was kinda glad I thought she slept with you." Jared gave him a weird look before he looked back the window to find Dominic pull back and smile down at her, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek before running to his car. He quickly got away from the window as Kelsey came through the door. She quickly hid her smile as she closed the door behind her to find Jared with his arms across his naked chest. She didn't notice till now that he wasn't wearing a shirt. Blush rose on her cheeks as she looked up the stairs to find Noah with pursed lips and his arms crossed. Kelsey rolled her eyes and said," You both better stop looking at like that. You both look like my sister when she found me and my prom date in the back of his pinto. If anything I should be giving this look to Noah. What's with the three hickies on your neck?" Noah quickly hid them with his hands and walk down the hall to his room. Jared couldn't help chuckle as Kelsey giggled. Kelsey looked up and to find Jared giving her a questioning look. Kelsey sat on the couch and Jared sat beside her. Kelsey fiddled with her fingers as she said," Dominic and I were high school sweethearts. We got married straight out of high school. He and my sister helped put me through medical school. He was the man of my dreams. A hunky cop with an amazing personality, I loved him. We had miscarriage and I went into depression. I didn't want to have sex, do date night, nothing. He cheated on me with our neighbor, I didn't give him his needs, so he got them somewhere else." Jared frowned as he put a comforting hand on her forearm. Kelsey shrugged his hand off and stood up. She took a deep breath and said," But I forgave him years ago and now I'm gonna have a baby again. I may have lost my sister but gained back some happiness that's been gone longer than I'd like to admit." Jared smiled at her as she begin to pace the living picking up toys as she went. Jared rolled his eyes as he said," It's past midnight. Let's go to bed. You gotta be up early for that doctor's appointment." Kelsey nodded as she dropped the few toys in a nearby basket. Kelsey and Jared slowly made up the stairs splitting up to each other's wishing each other a quick, quiet good night before heading inside.

Kelsey scurried around the kitchen trying to make three different breakfasts at once. Shep had woken with the stomach bug, so bland breakfast of toast, applesauce, and tea. Tom only demanding he has waffles and Odette wanted pancakes. Kelsey finally sighed in relief as all three kids were served and sitting at the kitchen table. She walked over and wrapped a blanket around Shep's shoulders and back and helped get as much as he could down before practically falling asleep at the table. Kelsey gently picked him as Jared came in from his morning run. He quickly took Shep from her arms and said," No ma'am. You're pregnant, the only little humans you'll be carrying is the one in your belly and maybe Odette. But that might change." Kelsey couldn't help roll her eyes as he continued," But I hope.you can forgive me. I really need to stay home with Shep while he's sick but I called in an expert to accompany you to the doctor's appointment." As if on cue the doorbell rang and Tom ran to go answer it. Kelsey ran to the door to stop him but was too late, only to find Daneel and JJ in the foyer. Daneel smiled and said," Hey girl, you ready to go?" Kelsey just nodded as she grabbed her purse on the nearby peg on the wall before turning to Jared. She nervously smiled and said," Can you check on Noah? I'm sure he'll have a hangover." Jared gave her a firm nod as Kelsey turned towards Daneel. Daneel smiled wide as the three of them left. Kelsey was nervous and Daneel could tell. Daneel gave JJ the keys so she could run on to the car. Daneel turned and looked towards Kelsey. She quickly grabbed her hand and said," Are you okay? You seem very nervous." Kelsey nodded as she began blinking away tears. She sniffed and said," I'm beyond nervous. Scared is a better word I think. I'm not ready to be a mom. I can take care of my nephew and nanny all day but bringing a child into this world scares me." Daneel brought her in a for a hug before pulling away and taking out her phone. She touched her lock screen button only for a picture of Jensen holding a baby JJ to pop up. Daneel sighed and said," I was scared too, just like any other mother. But the few seconds after I gave that last push and I heard that cry It was all worth it. Being scared is normal. Don't be mad at Jared but he told me about your miscarriage and I understand that why you're scared. Don't be afraid because you have Jared, Jensen, Noah, the kids and me on your team. We'll be there for you every step of the way." Kelsey finally let the tears fall as she nodded and brought Daneel back in for another hug.

Kelsey sat on the exam table in a pink paper gown waiting on the doctor. Daneel sat in the chair by the bed with JJ on her lap. Soon the doctor came in a large smile on his face. He sat down on a nearby stool and said," Hi Ms. Saddler, I'm Dr. Brown. First we're gonna talk about your history then we'll break the ultrasound machine and take a look at that baby. Alright I know this is hard but I need you to tell me about your miscarriage." Kelsey closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Promising herself she wasn't going to cry. Kelsey opened her eyes and began fidgeting with her fingers as she said," I was thirty five weeks along when me and my ex-husband were in bed one night. I woke up to the worst cramps in my life. I thought I was in labor, but when I pulled back the covers I found blood. I woke up Dom and we called 911. We got to the hospital they told me I miscarried then induced my labor. Fourteen hours later we had our son, Walker. That's it really." The doctor kept writing on his pad after she was done. He nodded as cleared his throat and said," Thank you. I know that was hard. You're eight almost nine weeks along but I want to stress that with your miscarriage could pose problems on your current pregnancy. I know you're a nanny but no heavy lifting or high stress situations. Alright, I think were ready for the ultrasound." He grabbed a blanket from a drawer and continued," Alright, I'm gonna grab the machine. Here's the blanket to keep everything covered while you pull the gown up under your breasts." Kelsey nodded as he handed her the blanket and stepped out the room. Kelsey spread the blanket across her legs as Daneel stood leaving JJ in the chair. Kelsey leaned back and rolled the gown up under her bra. Dr. Brown came in and wheeled in the ultrasound machine. He got out the ultrasound gel and said," Alright, it may be a little cold." He squirted out a fair amount onto her flat stomach before pulling out the wand. Daneel grabbed Kelsey's hand as he began pressing the wand to her belly and swirling it around till a loud heartbeat filled the room. Dr. Brown smiled and turned the screen towards Kelsey and Daneel. Kelsey's smile grew as her eyes watered. Dr. Brown smile grew as he said," Well the little bean has a great heart beat and seems to be very healthy. I want you back when you're about 16 weeks along so we can do another exam and ultrasound. I'm gonna print this out for you and then I'll walk you out. I'll leave you to get dressed." Dr. Brown left as Kelsey giggled and put her hands on her belly. She was having a baby and she vowed to herself this baby was going to make it.

Kelsey closed the front door only to be welcomed by quiet. She smiled as walked into the living room to find Jared surrounded by three of his kids all fast asleep on the couch and Noah napping in on the love seat across from him. She smiled and pulled out her phone taking a quick picture before grabbing blankets. She began covering Jared and kids, making Jared's eyes flutter open. He smiled and whispered," You're back. How was the doctor?" Kelsey pulled out the sonogram picture and showed him. Jared's smile grew as she said," It went great. He doesn't want to see for at least another eight weeks." Jared smile deflated slightly as he thought, he would be leaving in three weeks for the next several months for filming. Jared smiled and said," I'm happy for you Kels. You deserve a little happiness. Now you wanna help me get these monsters to bed?" Kelsey giggled as she reached for Odette on his chest and began up the stairs. Odette squirmed slightly before settling back into Kelsey's chest. This was the part of motherhood she yearned for and couldn't wait to put her own child to bed when it came time. Jared couldn't help watch her as she carried his baby girl up the stairs. He knew he had a slight crush on Kelsey but she would only be his nanny and good friend, nothing else.

Jared stood on the back patio looking up at the stars as he started thinking about Genevieve. He missed her and everything about her. He wiped at the tears that started to fall as he said," Gen, I don't know I'm feeling this way. I shouldn't be feeling this way. I married you and vowed that you'd be the only woman for me. I wish I didn't feel this way. Is it okay to feel this way?" Jared couldn't help but smile as a falling star streaked across the dark, Texas sky. Gen had gave him her answer. The doorbell rang drawing his attention. He wiped his cheeks and headed inside towards the front door. He opened the door to find Kelsey's ex-husband Dominic with flowers in his hands. Dominic smiled and said," Is Kelsey home?" Jared shocked himself as shook his head 'no'. Jared sighed and said," She went to drop Noah off at a friends house." Dominic frowned as he handed Jared the flowers and rubbed his hands together. Dominic sighed and said," Listen, man, if you two got a thing going on, I'll leave. But if you don't I'd to talk to Kelsey. I know she's home because I called her on my way here." Jared didn't know what to say as he looked down at the flowers. Dominic smirked and said," She loves wildflowers and sushi. She hate romantic comedies, if you take her to see a movie it better have blood and gore. She doesn't drink and refuses to take medication because of how her mother turned out. But I still would like talk to her. Some of the things I did to her I have yet to apologize for and I'd like to do that. But she's all yours man. Just don't screw up like I did. She's an amazing woman and you'd be stupid not to see that." Jared smirked as he handed him back the flowers before hollering for Kelsey. Kelsey came down the stairs yawning, wearing a pair unicorn pajama pants and an old band t shirt. She lightly smiled as she saw Dominic and Jared. Jared winked to Dominic before walking towards the kitchen. Kelsey smiled as Dominic handed her the flowers and said," I'm truly sorry. I never apologized for the things I did while we were married. You were an amazing woman and I truly never saw that till I didn't have you anymore." He brought her in for a quick chaste kiss and said," I know we'll never happen again but I'd to start over, where we were at the beginning. Friends. I promise to be there for you and Noah both." Kelsey wrapped her arms around his neck, bringing him in for a big hug. Dominic chuckled lightly, wrapping his arms around her waist. Kelsey pulled away and patted his stubbly cheek as she said," God, you always sounded like a hallmark card. But thank you, I forgave you a long time ago. In a way it was my fault, you lost a son too. And I shut myself up and wouldn't let you hurt with me. So I'm sorry too. I was thinking, if you'd like we go see Walker together the next day you have off." Dominic gave her a quick nod before saying his goodbyes.

Kelsey joined Jared in the kitchen to find him scooping out two bowls of carmel gelato. He smiled and said," The kids are in bed. It's time the adults to play." Kelsey giggled as she grabbed two spoons and sat at the breakfast bar. Jared handed her a bowl and she gladly began digging in. Jared put up the carton before digging in himself. Jared cleared his throat and said," We got word from my producers, I start filming in three weeks." Kelsey nodded as she took another bite. She let the sweet cream melt in her mouth before she said," Alright. Sounds good. How long will you be gone?" Jared frowned and shrugged before taking a bite of gelato. He quickly swallowed as he thought,"Not sure. You never really know. They're estimating seven months." Kelsey nodded as she felt nerves consume her. What if he wasn't back in time for when the baby was coming. Jared noticed the sudden dread cross her face as he said," I don't care if I have to leave in the middle of filming. I'll be there when you have that baby." Kelsey relaxed and smiled. Jared couldn't help but smile back. He absolutely loved that smile.
