《Starting Over In Sin City》Chapter Twenty-Seven

"No! please Ryan! don't-I can't take anymore" I tell him through tears and blood on my face.
"I love you Hailey..I love you so much and you-
Another forceful punch to the face left me feeling numb.
"You are MINE and I will KILL YOU!...If you run again"
His hand wrapped around my throat and squeezed. I thrashed around in his tight grip as he continued to threaten and insult me until he stopped and leaned down to my ear.
"Why do you make me do this to you Angel?" He asked in a sweet voice. Then he gently traced his thumb on my face as he looked at me
This is his sick game...
Psychological warfare.
"You belong to me Hailey. I'll kill any man who tries to take you away from me. Get on that bed and spread your legs whore" he pushed me down on the mattress
My hands were cuffed and my legs bound with tape. I couldn't move. He brought his knife up in front of him and I held my shackled hands up to defend myself.
"Noooooo" I screamed for my life.
I shot up in bed and looked around the room I was in. I reached for my gun when my eyes fell on it on top of the night stand next to me.
Popping the clip out to check it, I saw it was full, slammed it back in and held it while I breathed deep, trying to regain my breathing after another nightmare.
I'm having them every night now and I'm not sleeping much.
It's been three days since the night at Lana's house and it's the third hotel I've woke up in since trying to lay low from Ryan and Rex. We been keeping on the move and never staying in the same place more than once.
I got up and grabbed the pack of cigarettes and lighter off of the coffee table of the hotel I was staying in and went out onto the balcony to smoke.
I pulled out the joint I had in the cigarette pack and lit it up, watching the glowing ember crawl up the paper with each inhale. After I smoked about half of it, I put it out, and threw it back in the pack for later.
I was sitting in the chair enjoying the cigarette I had just lit when I heard the faint beep of the hotel door before it opened.

I raised my gun and pointed it towards the sliding glass balcony door, just in case, then I clicked the safety off.
I saw Cole once he turned the corner of the entry foyer, he caught my eyes and stopped. He raised his eyebrow looking at me questioningly.
I put the safety back on and put the gun down.
He walked towards the balcony door, in just jeans and a navy blue hoodie with a SnapBack on, no leather cut or any indications of ties to the club.
"What are you doing up baby, another nightmare?" he asked once he was on the balcony.
I nodded "Yeah, where have you been?" I asked a little harshly.
"Meeting with someone in my dads club who will help me find him" he answered me as he walked towards me, cautiously, he's been treading very lightly with me since the night at Lana's.
Putting a hand on either side of my chair, trapping me in the seat, he then leaned down to kiss me.
When he broke the kiss he put his forehead against mine and whispered playfully
"You can sniff me baby" he smirked
I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him closer to me.
"Don't think I won't-Ahh"
I let out a startled scream when he stood up fast from hovering over me, bringing me with him, I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist so I didn't fall.
He shut the sliding door behind us once we walked through it into the bedroom and laid me on the bed.
He turned off all the lights and got into bed under the covers with me.
"You need to sleep Hail" he whispered in my ear as he lay behind me holding me as the big spoon.
"I can't when you aren't here" I whispered into the dark of the room.
"When I sleep I dream and I relive it over and over. If I'm not dreaming about that, then it's about the night at Lana's. Where are we going?" I ask him as I rolled over to face him.
With a heavy sigh he said
"I'm here now, so go to sleep baby and I don't know, I'm just keeping us on the move until I know who we can trust and who we can't, Ghost and Duck are it right now"

He leaned into my lips and gave me a soft and deep kiss. When he pulled back, he looked right into my eyes and then dropped a bomb on me.
"I talked to Ryan" He said plainly, like he told me it was Friday today.
"What?" I choked out
"I called him while I was out, we meet with him in two days-
"We?" I ask terrified. I'm still not 100% trusting of Cole since Rex sent his people to kill and rob me.
What if he hands me over to him?
No, he would have done that already or just killed me himself.
As I argue with myself in my mind, Cole was still telling me the plan but I didn't hear much of what he said, I was too lost in my own head.
"Baby?" He asked touching my hip making me jump away from him.
"Hailey, what is going on? I can't touch you without you moving away from me?! Not to mention we haven't had fucking sex in days now! What the fuck is going on?" He asked frustration clear in his voice.
"I'm just-Cole I'm trying to trust you, but you know what? I only met you one night after I left that psycho and once I met you, everything went so fast and I fell in love with you so hard... but what your dad did has made me question everything I began to trust. I'm sorry that I can't be like I was before that night...but I'm trying" I confessed what I had been holding in since that nice when he found me in the Jeep after escaping from Lana's house.
Even after Cole swore he didn't have anything to do with the ambush on us, for some reason, I was holding back with him.
"After I kill this fucker for what he's done to you, you'll see it was never me. I've never given you a reason not to trust me Hailey" he said with venom on his tongue.
"We Cole-We. I want to be the one who who finally gets to take something from him" I said firmly
"I know baby and you will. You've changed since that first night I met you, you're strong now and he has no power over you" he said in his deep voice
His warm hand went up under my shirt and he slowly but firmly moved his hand along my belly, up to my bare breast.
"It's only me and you baby remember?"
His voice was low and deep against my chest as his lips danced across my soft skin making goosebumps erupt all over my body.
"I remember" I told him breathlessly before I pulled his face up to mine and kissed him hard.
I just hope he really means it, that is just me and him.
As the kiss grew deeper his hands came up to my hips to pull my pants down. Piece by piece our clothes came off until we were bare skin against skin.
"I love you" he said softly against my lips before kissing me.
"Show me how much you do" I use my best seduction voice.
A smile spread on his face. A genuine smile I haven't seen for days.
"There's my girl" he said looking at me as he traced his fingers inside my thigh.
"Don't break the last bit of trust I have Cole, if that's your plan, then just kill me now. I think death would hurt less" I mumbled that last part under my breath.
He grabbed my hand and held it to his chest over his heart.
"I promise you that you can trust me. I promise, I had absolutely nothing to do with, or knew about what my old man did to you and Lana. I promise with everything I have I love you" he spoke every word while he looked me in my eyes.
If he's lying, he's a good liar, because there was no hint of a lie in his eyes that I could see.
"I believe you Cole" I told him and leaned down to meet his lips "you were about to show me how much you love me...so show me" I mumbled against his lips
