I open my eyes and realize I'm tied to a chair. How come I'm always tied up?
I pull against the restraints on my arms and legs and realize that they're ropes, not as bad as chains but they'll still give me rope burns.
I sigh, bad stuff always happens to me. I guess Jimin and I both have psycotic parents.
"Hello?" I say, not really expecting a response.
"You're awake," A voice says from the left side of the room. I look towards the voice and see one of the men that kidnapped me. "I'm here to watch you, Jimin's mother and Umji are upstairs talking so be quiet,"
"Does Jimin know I'm here?" I ask and the guy walks closer to me, sitting down on the floor in front of me.
"We left him a note after we took you, seeing that it's 2pm already he should have read it. He should be coming over here anytime now.
"Are you going to hurt him?" I ask.
"I wont, I doubt his mother will either,"
"Will you hurt me?" I ask.
"Only if Jimin does something stupid,"
The doorbell goes off and voices can be heard from upstairs. I guess I'm in a basement.
"Ah, Jimin must be here," The man says again.
"What is here exactly?" I ask.
"The house they moved into after coming back from Busan, I can't give you the address though, sorry,"
I nod and we sit in silence for a while.
Minutes later a door opens at the top of the stairs that are across the room.
"He's down there, perfectly fine so don't worry and be quiet, Umji can't know about this," A voice says.
Jimin walks down the stairs.
"Taehyung," He calls as soon as he see's me. I give him a sarcastic smile. "I'm sorry you're here, I didn't want this to happen,"

"It's alright," I say, shrugging the best I can with the restraints. "Now we both know that we both have psychotic parents," I mumble, barely audible.
The man laughs, clearly hearing me from his spot and Jimin looks at him confused, not hearing what I said.
"Come on," His mother says from the top of the steps, causing everyone to look up at her. "I've let you see him now lets go and discuss the wedding plans,"
"I'm really sorry," Jimin says, turning back to me. "I'll get you out of here as soon as I can, I promise,"
"Don't force yourself to marry Umji, you and I both know that you don't love her," I say.
"I know, but if I don't you'll get hurt," He says. "And I don't want that,"
I sigh and nod, knowing that Jimin will probably do anything to keep me safe, and I know I'd do the same for him.
"I'll see you soon," Jimin says, walking back towards the stairs. "I'm really sorry,"
I nod and watch him walk up the stairs. His mother closes the door behind him and I sigh.

I walk back upstairs, following my mother.
"Why are you doing this?" i ask.
"I'm doing this for you," She replies. "Now be quiet, Umji might hear,"
I roll my eyes and sigh, following my mother into the kitchen where Umji is waiting.
"Jimin! I haven't seen you in the past few days," Umji says, running up to me. She kisses my cheek and I internally cringe, faking a smile. "Where have you been? You haven't responded to my messages,"
"I'm fine," I say, pushing her away slightly. "I was just busy,"

Umji nods and we go into the dining room, sitting down at the large table.
"Since the marrige is coming up soon, we need to make preperations," My mother says, glancing at me before looking back at Umji.
"How long until the wedding?" I ask, maybe I'll be able to stop it before it's too late without anyone getting hurt.
"A couple of months," She replies.
"I'm excited," Umji says, smiling over at me. I look away and down at my hands, playing with my fingers.
"The sooner we finish preparations, the sooner the wedding can be and the sooner everyone can be happy," Mother speaks, smiling at me as she talks. I look up at her.
"Are you keeping him locked up for months until Umji and I get married?" I say without thinking, putting a frown on my mothers face.
"He?" Umji says, confused.
"No one," My mother says, standing up. "Excuses us Umji but I have to speak to Jimin for a minute,"
My mother grabs my arm and pulls me into the kitchen where she starts whispering.
"I told you not to say anything," She says harshly.
"Are you keeping him locked up for months? That's crazy," I say, ignoring what she's saying. "Someone will notice,"
"Not if you make excuses and tell no one," She replies. "You know what will happen if you say anything,"
"You can't do this," I say back.
"You can't tell me what I can or can't do," She snaps, slapping my cheek.
I wince and my hand flies up to my cheek as it stings.
She grabs my arm again and yanks me back into the kitchen.
"Oh my god," Umji says, rushing to me. She reaches towards my cheek and her finger brush against it, making me wince. "What happened?"
"Don't worry about it," My mother says, swatting Umji's hand away from my face. "We have more important things to plan,"
Umji ignores my mother and grabs my head, inspecting my cheek.
"What happened?" She asks again.
"I'm fine," I say, grabbing her hand with mine and pulling it away from my face. I give her a fake smile. "I accidentally ran into the wall,"
She looks at me doubtfully before nodding slowly, like she doesn't believe me.
My mother claps, gaining both of our attention.
"Let's continue to plan!" She says with a fake smile.
Umji looks back towards me, still doubtful but I give her a reassuring smile.
"Let's plan," I say.

Against such a chaotic backdrop, a boy continues to protect a semblance of daily life for his loved ones, but will he be successful when the curtains finally open? Book 6: The Frenzied Tide Synopsis: A sword hangs above the Eastern Territories. The Human God, progenitor of all life, the direct cause of the beastfolk genocide, has made his will known to the rulers of the East — make peace with the God of Water, or be destroyed in three months.
