Taehyung has been ignoring me for the whole class period, but not just me, he's ignoring everyone. It's all my fault, I shouldn't have asked him such a personal question like that.
The bell rings for recess and Taehyung stays sitting in his seat and continues to stare at the front of the room. I stand up and shake his arm a little, causing him to glance up at me before looking back to the front of the room.
"The bell rung," I say in a small voice. He stands up and grabs his stuff. I follow him out of the classroom.
He sits down at our lunch table, still not talking to anyone. Hoseok greets us but Taehyung ignores him. Hoseok frowns for a minute before smiling again when Yoongi starts talking to him.
Jungkook seems a little off today too, he seems upset in a way and a little distant but not as much as Taehyung. I see him trying to talk to Taehyung, but Tae isn't saying anything, maybe not even listening.
I start feeling guilty, Taehyung would be talking and happy right now if I never said anything to him earlier. It's my fault for making him like this.
I stare down at the food sitting on the table in front of me, I don't have an appetite. I look over at Taehyung and Jungkook again and realize that Jungkook is staring at me. He furrows his eyebrows and stands up.
"Can I talk to you?" He whispers, leaning down to my ear. I look over at Taehyung, he doesn't seem to notice that Jungkook is gone. I nod and stand up.
The others seem too busy with their own conversations to notice us leaving, at least they won't question where we're going.
Jungkook pulls me by the lockers and frowns.

"What did you do to Taehyung. He was okay last night, not the best, but now he seems even worse. What happened?"
"I asked him a question I shouldn't have earlier and I really regret it," I say.
"What did you ask him?" Jungkook looks confused.
"I asked about his family. I didn't know he would react like that. I'm sorry," I say, feeling more guilty than before.
Jungkooks face drops and he starts to look angry. He closes his eyes to calm himself down. He opens them and puts a bitter smile on his face.
"It's okay, you didn't know," Jungkook says. "Taehyung has actually been living with my family and I since he was eleven, because of something bad that happened to his family before that. He only just recently moved out. He's pretty sensitive when it comes to talking about his family, he's had a lot of bad memories with them,"
"I still feel really bad though," I say. The bell rings and Jungkook gives me a genuine smile before patting my back and walking to his class.
I stand there for a minute before taking a deep breath. I start walking towards my classroom, thinking about what Jungkook said. How bad were Taehyung's memories of his family? What happened when he was younger?

Home of Laplace
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar mountain peak standing tall above me like seeing a skyscraper from the street. Soon the chilling burn of the snow that covered me began to invade my senses and I flung my torso upward, sitting up straight. I grabbed my head in confusion as my eyes surveyed the area around me: The corner of a mountain wall stood menacingly in front of me accompanied by thin, dangerous looking paths on either side. The likes of which only adrenaline-seeking psychopaths would use. I turned my head backwards and felt my heart drop as what looked like an infinitely long freefall met my gaze. I was sitting on the ledge of a snow-covered mountain. "CRKKKK" A heart-shaking croaking sounded from above me further up the mountain and I jolted backwards at the impossibly loud sound. 'Shit, wasn't there nothing behind me?' The sound of cracking stone accompanied the heart dropping sensation of descension. As I plunged down backwards, the last thing I saw was the deep-set brown eyes of that blue-skinned monstrosity further up the mountain. ----------------------------------------------------- Levi Laplace is a former genius biochemistry student that died a simple and laughable death on earth. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
