《His Perfect Doll》Chapter 11

"Please, Daisy, I need you to wake up!"
I didn't try to open my eyes. I felt so tired.
"Please, I wanted to take the whips for you! I'm so sorry."
Was that... Dove? She sounded so far away. I wanted to help her. But I was just too exhausted.
"I need you..."
I opened my eyes and searched for Dove. I found her blurry figure hovering over me.
"Daisy!" She exclaimed. "I thought you died."
"Peter said I was allowed to treat your wound."
She picked me up effortlessly and carried me to the bathroom. She took off my clothes and then placed me in the bathtub. She filled it up with warm water, which stung the cuts on my stomach.
The water soon turned red with my blood. Dove shivered and drained the water, only to fill it back up again. This time, the water was light red. The repeated this process until the water was a little foggy and pink.
"I'm going to have to touch your wounds, okay?" She asked. I nodded and closed my eyes.
I felt a soft piece of cloth being pressed against my stomach. The cloth gently went over my wounds. I gasped in pain and clenched the side of the tub.
Dove soon finished washing over my cuts and then she drained the bath once again. She filled it up and did a quick rinse for my hair and body.
I weakly stumbled out of the bathtub. Dove let me dry myself off and put on my own clothes. I was glad to find sweatpants and a hoodie.
I sat on the toilet seat and lifted up my hoodie for Dove to access the wounds. She started to wrap dressing around my torso.
"I recommended stitches, but Peter said no," she whispered. I just nodded my head and stood up.

I felt weak. More importantly, I was tired, hungry, and thirsty. I hadn't eaten or had anything to drink in 3 days. My system was probably shutting down. I had already dropped 20 pounds in my stay there.
Dove helped me walk to a bed. She brought me a piece of toast and some water, which I happily scarfed down.
"Where's Peter?" I whispered.
"He's out buying food. He told me to keep an eye on you."
"Ah, yes, because I'm sure that I could run away right now."
"He wasn't worried about that."
"Then what the hell was he worried about then?!"
"That you would kill yourself."
I fell silent. I had thought about it too many times to count.
I heard the front door open and then close. Footsteps started to near the room I was in. I froze and stared at the door.
Peter walked in with his hands behind his back. I assumed the worse. Which was that he had a weapon in his hands.
"Since I felt so guilty about almost killing you, I brought you something."
Was it Harper's head?
Or was it a tongue?
Or could it be a weapon?
My thoughts stopped when I heard a soft whining sound. It was followed by whimpering.
Peter put his hands in front of him to reveal a puppy. The puppy was a brindle boxer. He had dark chocolate eyes that were scared and confused.
Peter placed the dog on my chest and he slowly laid down. And that's when I knew that somehow, everything would be okay.

Savage Hunters
Giant monsters roam the land Civilization is frozen in a savage age. For the beast slayer Alden, power and survival are one and the same. The ancient evil that once ravaged his village and murdered his ancestors has returned. At the same time, politics hurls Alden and his crew into gladiator pit battles for control of the throne. When Alden takes possession of a cursed sword promising untold power, the hunter is determined to save his people by slaying every giant monster standing between him and the throne. But the angry ghost trapped inside the blade has other ideas. Buckle up for the brutal LitRPG ride of a lifetime Savage Hunters is an alternate-world neolothic fantasy. Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.
