《Paul Lahote x Reader》I mean who could blame her?

Last chapter
"What an idiot." I grumbled, scolding myself as I sat in the shower overthinking the recent events in my life
Paul pov:
As I drove away from Billy's towards Sam's house I couldn't help but think of y/n. I had felt so lucky, so happy, so ughhhh but I'd gone and fucked it all up! I shouldn't have played with her so much! She doesn't even know me yet! My brain kept replying all the moments in which I'd made her uncomfortable but the worst had to be the startled face when she thought I was going to kiss her!
I mean who could blame her?? I had her pinned to me and was seemingly about to kiss her without permission?!
I continued to drive as these thoughts played at my mind. The underlying thought that I could have messed up so badly that she may never speak to me again or that she may reject me nawing away at me. The uncertainty about everything weighed on my chest like a bag of bricks and it felt like I was going to explode.
You're being dramatic! Everything is fine!
I internally scolded myself trying to calm me down unsuccessfully as I pulled into Sam's driveway. I saw the boys all out front playing around as Emily placed food on the patio table. I walked towards the table where Sam had just taken a seat but as I passed the boys Jarred shouted
"Woahhh after all that talk about taking it slow with her you come back here smelling exactly like Jacob's lil cousin." With a snicker as he earned a chuckle from the boys. My thoughts blurred for a moment as I went to him and instantly swept his legs from beneath him before slamming him harshly into the ground, pinning him there.

"Y/n isn't like that so keep you're filthy thoughts away from any delusions you may have about her." I growled in his face, the tension in the air was like static as energy bounced of myself and all the others in the yard.
"Enough, let him go." Sam said as he walked towards us. I got off Jarred and brushed myself off. I wasn't angry at Jared he was just a conveniently annoying option for me to take my anger out on for saying something so completely idiotic. I huffed at the thought but I was immediately pulled out of it as Sam told us all to sit at the table. Moments later Jake arrived and joined us. He sat for a moment before his nose twitched and her glared at me, not saying a word as Sam spoke up.
"As you all may know there was a cold one in our territory last night. By the smell of it she's a killer and not a member of the Cullen family. This my be someone passing by but regardless we need as many eyes out at possibly. I need all of you on patrol tonight, be on guard and report any leads. As for today we'll be patrolling in sets until the cold ones scent leaves town entirely." He was straight to business and as matter of fact as always. I spoke up.
"Last night I saw the cold one, some red haired woman with a fur coat seemingly alone. She cornered y/n in the woods but I scared her off." I said with a huff recalling the events of last night and how if I were a moment later that freak of nature could have gotten her. The tension rose again. Jake was the one to speak up this time

"What?! Why the hell was she doing out there? Did she see you? Does she know anything? What happen..." his outburst was cut short as Sam silenced him and waved for me to continue.
"She said she went for a night walk when that woman chased after her. I jumped in in wolf form to protect her but when I transformed and returned it seemed as though she thought a woman and a wolf tried to attack her but she got away. She doesn't seem to know anything when I took her to my place to patch a scratch on her ankle after. She ended up crashing at my house and I took her home this morning. She's fine." I said giving the whole, or at least what I wished to share of the report of what happened that night. I heard Jake grumble as Sam spoke again.

Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
