《Paul Lahote x Reader》Did you think I was going to kiss you?
Last chapter
"I I'm fine!" I squeak out while backing up away from the large man in front of me.
"You are pretty hot" he said which only cause my blush to rise I'm sure I look like a tomato now!
"Just go get ready for work!" I yelp while turning away from him. He mumbled something before heading upstairs.
Paul POV
"Fine, fine" I said under my breath as I recalled the blushing face that had been before me. I just can't believe I got so lucky that this beautiful person is my mate. I smiled at this thought, was she really going to make me a softy? Maybe, but just for her. And with that thought in mind I finished climbing the stairs to grab some clothes to change into.
Y/n POV
While Paul's sexy ba- I mean back just back, disappeared from view I hurriedly found the bathroom on this floor of the house and sunk down against the door once I had shut and locked it. I placed my head on my knees and let out a soft grumble of a whine.
Why am I acting like this! I've never felt this way before and it's driving me crazy! I've only known this guy for a second yet I feel like I could trust him with my life!?? How!?
I went to stand up which resulted in me banding my head on the door knob... why??? I whined while rubbing my head. I heard something fall up stairs and then a second later there was a knock on the bathroom door.
"Hey, everything alright in there?" I heard Paul's concerned voice front the other side of the door. Wasn't he just upstairs? I thought to myself while opening up the door only to reveal a very worried half naked man in front of me.
"Yeah, just bonked my head." I said while rubbing my hand over the already bruising area, finding a small lump. I blinked and the next thing I knew I was in Paul's arms. His left arm holding me to him while his right cupped the back of my head gently, I'm sure my face was the shade of a strawberry at this point but it did feel nice in his arms. I felt cared for. Paul leaned down and placed a kiss on the bump where the door nob had collided with my head. I was stunned, I couldn't find any words as Paul pulled back without allowing us to separate. He smiled down at me, that brilliant smile that send thousands of butterflies through me.
"That doesn't look to serious but you should be more careful." Paul said with a look of concern and determination flashing over his handsome features. A look that I couldn't quite place flashed over his face as he looked down at me and the next thing I knew he was leaning in. I was still shocked by this whole exchange so all I did was close my eyes, not sure what was coming next. Then I felt two lips gently press against my forehead and when I opened my eyes again Paul was smiling down at me.
"Did you think I was going to kiss you?" He asked to which my face began to burn hotter then it seems to have ever before. Dang it!! When did I start blushing?? This is terrible!
"... um" I tried but couldn't find the words to respond, his arms around me tightened for a second pulling me in closer which I didn't know was possible as we we're already pressed together.
"I'll only kiss you when you want me to y/n" Paul said as he smiled down at me. My body exploded in goosebumps as the sensation of those words tingled through my body. Then the next thing I knew Paul was letting go of me and starting to walk back up the stairs.
"I'll be down in a sec, try to stay out of trouble" he said with chuckle as he left my sight. Instantly I crumbled all of the power in my body leaving me as my mind raced over that whole interaction. I couldn't quite grasp what had happened. The words Paul said filtered through my brain over and over again until they were in graves in my head.
"I'll only kiss you when you want me to y/n"
Paul's voice echo through my head. What have I gotten myself into?
My thoughts were cut short as I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I turned towards them to see Paul appear wearing shorts and a hoodie.
"Ready to go?" He says looking at me with a smile to which I can only manage a nod in response. I tell him I'm going to get dressed and head upstairs, after throwing on the rest of my clothes I head back down to Paul. He walks up to me and grabs my hand and begins to walk towards the front door with our fingers interlocked. The butterflies in my stomach erupting. Paul grabbed his keys and opened the door leading me out to his car. I got in and we began the drive towards uncle Billy's house. We sat in silence listening to the radio which was playing a sweet song by cavetown. I looked at my hands while we drove not daring to make eye contact with the man beside me.
Paul pov:
She has been silent the whole drive and the pit in my stomach grew and grew with each piece of road we drove.
Was she mad at me? Or worse, had I made her uncomfortable?
These thoughts played in my head as I tried to imagine what y/n was thinking.
What was I thinking? I'm basically a stranger to her! Of course I made her uncomfortable!
I thought as I cursed at my stupid actions.
I should just say something to her.
"Hey y/n," I cut myself off since my voice sounded scratchy, I cleared my voice and continued
"Um, about this morning..." I trailed off as I saw her shoulders tense a bit at the reminder of what happened and it felt like my heart was being squeezed.
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I was just..." I trailed off again, what was I going to say? 'Hey y/n I'm in love with you and was worried about you because I'm a werewolf and we have these things called mates and you're mine btw but anyways will you love me?' Really idiot?? You can't say that to her!
"No worries" she said looking up at me with a smile that didn't quite meet her eyes, she looked stressed.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
