Last chapter:
"My house. I'm going to patch you up and then take you home." He said, we reached the front porch and he placed me on a chair out front before unlocking the door. He turned to pick me up but instead I got up and shakily walked over to him, my ankle feeling slightly better. I grabbed his muscular arm to steady myself and he led me inside.
Paul
I silently carried y/n through the woods, focusing on where I placed my feet so I wouldn't drop the wounded babe in my arms.
"Why are you so hot?" She asked before a look of shock and horror passed over her face as she looked down flustered. I couldn't help but laugh, she was just so cute!
"Just born this way." I said chuckling again while her face flushed a new shade of red. God she's beautiful. I love teasing her. She seemed to be doing better from when I originally approached her and I was glad. She seemed to know she was safe with me, making my heart swell with pride.
"Hey Paul?" Her beautiful voice spoke a little shaky like she was cautious of something. What's wrong? I stopped in my tracks and looked down into her beautiful e/c orbs that seemed to catch every beam of like from the moon.
"Yeah, doll?" I asked my voice laced with concern. She lifted up the sleeve of my now dirt covered sweater.
"I think I broke your jacket." She said sadly pointing out the small hole and I couldn't suppress the small laugh . Nothing was wrong. I continued walking again.
"Don't worry about it." I said smiling as I walked through the dark forest. We walked for a while like this and I could feel the weight of her thoughts radiating off of her. What was she thinking? Was it about me? I wish she'd open up that beautiful mind to me.

"Think I can walk now, you can put me down if you want." She said but I wasn't about to put her down. I was finally able to hold her in my arms and I wasn't giving that up easily.
"Paul?" She spoke up again.
"Hm?" I said continuing to walk.
"I said you could put me down."
"You said if I wanted to. And I don't." I said continuing to walk. My grin spreading over my features as I noticed her face become pink again.
"Okay." She agreed and I couldn't help but smile at this. We reached the edge of the forest and we're almost to my house.
"Where are we?" She asked as I carried her towards the house.
"My house. I'm going to patch you up and then take you home." I said, we reached the front porch and I reluctantly placed her on a chair out front before unlocking the door. I turned to pick her up but instead she got up and shakily walked over to me, her ankle must be feeling slightly better, but the lose of holding her weighed on my heart. She stumbled slightly and grabbed my arm to steady herself as I led her inside.
Y/n POV
The sent of campfire hit my nose as I limped into the house still clutching Paul's strong arm. He lead me over to the sofa and sat me down.
"Warm up by the fire and I'll grab the first aid kit." Paul said as my hands slid down to let go of him, our fingers touching for a moment as I nodded at him. I can't believe I'm in his house! This whole night has been so embarrassing and now here I am a wounded damsel in need of rescuing. A 'hmph' left my lips as I turned from Paul's receding back to look at the fire.

The Successor
The Immortal God Emperor is dead...yet his Successor will one day arise. The worlds had long moved on from the greatest Cultivator of all time. The things that had been achieved and the advances made in the Immortal God Emperor's absence were nothing to turn one's nose up at. And yet, something was always missing. Because Cultivators, no matter the goals they pursue, always bow to the greater power. They seek it, they covet it for themselves, and they serve it with reverence. Shan Kai Lan was born into such a world. Born to two herb farmers whose cultivation did not surpass the Foundation Realm, yet who loved their son more than anything. Kai Lan was a child blessed by the Spiritual Plain, far more gifted and more intelligent than others his age. Yet the more profound his achievements, the greater the likelihood that his happy, peaceful life would be trampled on by those who desired his potential for themselves. The question of Kai Lan's journey becomes not whether he will reach the highest peak of cultivation, but what he will be forced to do to keep his young Clan, and the happiness it provides, at peace.
