《University Problem (Yoonkook)》Chapter 38: Promise

Yoongi was twirling around in front of the body length mirror. He was really anxious whether his outfit was suitable for the occasion.
Was he under dressed? Over dressed? Too casual? He really was struggling. This was his forth outfit already and deep inside his heart, he knew he looked okay but his mind just would not shut up and continued to nitpick every small detail.
"Oh my goodness Yoongs, stop trying to find flaws in your outfit. You look amazing, don't worry so much about it."
Yoongi looked behind him, his best friend laying on his bed with clothes next to him. Yoongi sighed. Jimin took pity on the struggling male, so he got up and engulfed Yoongi in a bear hug.
Jimin pulling Yoongi down onto the bed, "Why are you so worried? It's not your first date. He wouldn't mind what you're wearing, he's even seen you naked god-"
"Park Jimin if you don't shut your mouth," Yoongi warned as he stuffed Jimin's face with a pillow.
Yoongi got up and looked at himself once more in the mirror. He turned around and Jimin have him two thumbs up.
"You're such a dork," Yoongi teased, finally a smile replacing his frown.
"I'm gonna be the biggest dork if it can make you smile and make you stop worrying so god damn much." Yoongi chuckled hearing what Jimin said, always so sweet but sassy at the same time.
After about 10 minutes, Yoongi received a message from Jungkook saying he's downstairs.
Yoongi immediately rushed down stairs after bidding Jimin goodbye. The moment he walked to the living room, he saw Jungkook and his brother talking.
Jungkook looked behind Yongho to see his precious mate. "Hey Gi, you look pretty today, like always."
Yongho faked gagged then excused himself, of course before threatening Jungkook to take good care of his brother.
"You look good too!" Yoongi said to Jungkook after his brother left.
"Only today?" Jungkook teased.
"Yes, other days you look god like."
Yoongi smirked after seeing Jungkook being caught off guard with the smooth statement.
"I don't know it's a compliment or an insult saying I look worse than usual days," Jungkook commented as he hugged Yoongi from the back.

"You look good like always dumbass," Yoongi whispered as he held Jungkook's hand.
Jungkook gave his signature bunny smile and announced that they were off to their date.
"Where are we going?" Yoongi asked after he fastened his seatbelt.
"A secret."
Yoongi was confused as to why Jungkook was so secretive but decided to go with it.
The first placed they arrived was 16th Street Cafe. Yoongi was excited to be honest, he loves going to that cafe because it has always been the usual place for him and his friends to hang out.
They went in and just as Yoongi was going to pick a place, Jungkook pulled Yoongi to the other side and sat beside the window. Yoongi gave his mate a questioning look but received a cute smile instead.
After their food arrived, Jungkook piped up and asked something that Yoongi was not expecting.
"Do you know why I chose for us to be here?" Jungkook said, glistening with hope for Yoongi to get the answer correctly.
"Because we come here often...?"
'What the hell?' Yoongi thought. Why did this feel like an exam he did not prepare for. Did he forgot something?
"It's the first place we met..." Jungkook replied with a slight whine.
Yoongi's eyes widen, he did not forgot. Jungkook was wrong. "Nooo, we met at Suho's mansion for the first time."
"I mean properly met, not when everything was a mess." Jungkook retorted.
Yoongi murmured a small 'fine'. Jungkook pinched Yoongi's cheeks, telling his mate to keep that pout away. Yoongi smacked his hand playfully then the two proceeded to converse like usual.
But Yoongi felt like Jungkook was acting weird. Jungkook kept on reminiscing about the past and was much happier and giddier than usual.
After they were done with lunch, Jungkook said they had one last place to visit but Yoongi still had no idea where. Once they went in the car, Jungkook turned on the radio and drove off.
The peaceful atmosphere felt all too familiar. The sense of calmness is what Yoongi loves when being with Jungkook. Feeling safe and at peace without worries running through his mind.
He looked out the window, the path they were on. He looked over to Jungkook and it was like Jungkook understood him without words.

"Tonight's weather is gonna be clear and chilly. Great for stargazing."
That warm smile never fails to make Yoongi relax. Jungkook recreating their first date but it all felt so fresh and new. Jungkook's soft humming was what made Yoongi fell asleep last time but it would be different this time.
Yoongi was enjoying the scenic view during the journey to the small hill. 'So I missed all these pretty views when I slept,' Yoongi thought.
After short roadtrip, the car finally stopped. Both of them got out the car and set up their place, a red and white gingham blanket under the clear sky with the same white velvet blanket.
While laying side by side, the sun was slowly setting, the yellow to red ombré was painted on the sky. The sun was slowly descending, hiding behind the far mountains with the moon slowly peaking out, shining it's beauty.
Small, sparking diamonds appeared to great the world that was a navy sky now. What was different now with their first date?
They are dating now, holding hands, have a stable relationship, marked and most importantly, there is love and not a just a small crush anymore.
Honestly, they did not want this to ever end, they want their world to just be like this. Calm and peaceful away from the chaotic world.
Yoongi was twirling his necklace in between his fingers when Jungkook suddenly sat up. Yoongi followed and he saw Jungkook suddenly sit facing him.
"Yoongi, I want you to know, I will always be with you no matter what. I'm sorry for all the times I messed up. I'll forever be by your side. Please never leave me." Jungkook confessed while drawing small circles on Yoongi's hand with his thumb.
Yoongi gave his mate a soft smile, "Silly, I'll always be with you and I apologize too because I never really listened to you. I was always pushing you away when you wanted to help me but you are always still with me."
Yoongi gave Jungkook a small peck on the lips then his favourite bunny smile appeared again.
"I want us to experience our first date again but I want to make this time even more special."
Yoongi's eyes followed Jungkook's hands. A small black box. Jungkook looked at Yoongi in the eyes.
"Promise we'll be together forever?" Jungkook took out a silver ring, a promise ring.
Yoongi felt tears forming in his eyes. He laughed a little, feeling silly for tearing up at this happy moment then rubbed the tears away. "Promise. We'll be together forever."
Both of them hugged each other tightly like it was their last hug but in actually fact, it is the first hug for the new chapter in their lives. They broke off the hug and Jungkook quickly slipped the ring onto Yoongi's middle finger then Yoongi too slipping on the other ring onto Jungkook's finger.
"I know I rarely... Or even never say this but. I love you." Yoongi said while laying his head on Jungkook's shoulder.
"I love you. And I always knew you love me," replied Jungkook while playing with his mate's hair.
"Don't be full of yourself. How? You can read minds?" Yoongi scolded playfully.
"I can't read minds but." Jungkook lifted Yoongi's chin and leaned in.
"Your eyes tell."
It felt like the first time their lips connected, butterflies in their stomach. Maybe that small crush feeling is still there but with the addition of love. That's what makes everything feel so magical.
A happy story shouldn't have any ending, and thus it's not the end, but just the end of this chapter of their lives. Their stories are combined now, their stories will forever have each other.
;And that's the end. Sorry for going away for such a long time but I always don't want to end a story because it always makes me feel sad about it. But it's something I cannot avoid forever so here it is. I hope this ending was good and satisfied most of you. I'm content with the ending and truly I enjoyed writing this story a lot. Thank you everyone that reads this story and had always stayed patience with me updating. I really appreciate all the support and love this story has. Thank you so much everyone ♡ I'll end it with a Yoonkook pic;

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
