"Your mother is falling,"

Meir kissed Lily's head, rearranging her barrette as he entered, snapping away the clone that stayed with her while he was out.

He found it good to talk to Lily. The child was intelligent, and it was amusing to read her thoughts.

"Not literally," he rolled his eyes. "Why would I have just left her perpetually falling no—I mean her soul. It's my fault of course. Isn't it always?"

Lily watched him pace around.

"I suppose you're hungry," Meir sighed. "Well, we have a special treat. Something home cooked from mommy,"

Meir pulled his axe out, before pausing. He looked Lily who stared at the him in question.

"Oh, Lily. You're a half demon. You need more than milk. You need souls. Your mother bought this one, fresh with her own hands. We'll enjoy it together,"

Meir set the axe down. No need to give the child a taste for suffering. He scored out the man's soul, giving it to Lily. It glowed in his hand, as he fed her.

"Slowly. He's been afraid. Suffering. Don't get used to the taste. Your mother wouldn't like it. At least...I hope she wouldn't."

Lily stared at him blankly. He nodded his encouragement.

"Go on, Lily. You won't grow if you don't."

He picked Lily up as she finished her soul. He patted her head, before smiling down at her softly.

"Aw...good job, sweetheart. Mommy would be very proud." He praised her, setting her on his shoulder gently, as he went about his tasks.

"I can't wait until you're older. We'll send your Mom letters. And pictures from you. She'll be very happy," he smiled, letting her hover in the air.

"You remember her," he answered her thoughts. "The beautiful lady in the dreams. She always hugs you, sings to you. You have her nose. Her lips too. You have the same skin color, too."

Lily looked at him. He paused before looking back at her.

"Well...that's an interesting question Lily. The answer is yes and also no. I'm not your father. But...also...sort of. Never mind that. I have to go out today. A certain angel is causing trouble. And what should we do when we see angels, Lily? Remember what I told you?"

Meir turned around with a smile, musing her hair. "That's right. We kill them."

He summoned his scythe, handing Lily to his clone.

"Now Lily has already had her soul and two bottles. So she'll need a diaper change. She doesn't look diaper changes, it's an affront to her dignity, so hand her her scythe when it's time."

His clone narrowed his eyes. "I'm you. I know all these things already."

Meir shrugged. "I'm a shady character so I have to make sure. I'll be back Lily! Maybe if you do well, I'll bring you back an Angel soul."

Lily cooed her goodbyes. Looking up at the clone. She grabbed her hands.

"Ah...let's watch some mortal television," The clone grinned. "Bluey?"

Lily cooed.

The clone grinned. "Bluey."

"Oh David....I told you not to go near her,"

David hacked. "You...you were never supposed to have that child."

Meir frowned. "Why not? Because maybe someone can care about me? Maybe I can do a good thing? Have a good thing."

David shuddered. "Because you'll end the world you idiot. That child will end the world."

Meir smiled. "Really? She's going to be so successful! Tell me you're not lying."

"You lunatic. I mean literally. You were never supposed to have Lily. You were never supposed to meet Lana. You were supposed to stay in your cage; until it was time. Cause some destruction and then die!"

Meir blinked. "How...did you plan on killing me?"

David shook his head. "Doesn't matter now."

Meir frowned. "What about Lana and Lily. What happens to them in this future?"

"They live their life unburdened by you. You cursed the child to never see her mother and to consume souls."

Meir frowned. "Lily likes her souls. And she loves her mother. And me...I'm her father. What's so wrong with that."

David shook his head. "Literally everything. Why do you never learn, Meir. There are rules! You break them and then curse us for the consequences. This is why you can't see your face now!"

Meir turned around. "If the rules are stupid I will elect to ignore them. So what happens now, David."

"I'm guessing you kill me. And you, the woman and the girl face divine retribution."

Meir nodded gently. "You're right about one thing, David. I will be killing you. But you and your god will keep tour hands off my woman and my daughter."

"Do you really think you can stop Him?"

Meir shrugged, swinging his scythe, burying it in his back.

"I think He gave me a tool that can kill angels. I think He May have underestimated me. Just a bit."
