《Boogeyman》7

"What do you mean? She was just kicking yesterday," Lana looked up at the ultrasound and back at her belly.

"She's just stopped developing. I'm very sorry, Ms. Lana. Her heart beat is gone. Now there are a few options. You can sell your soul to Him—"

Lana opened her eyes. "Get out of my dreams you bastard," she muttered, standing. Her stomach was in knots.

"What is your name," she asked dully.

"Hm..." he appeared, touching her belly gently. "What do I look like?"

Lana looked up. "Tell me your name. And I'll give you my soul."

"Really?"

"No."

He chuckled, bending down to smell her hair. He let out a small moan of contentment. "Hm...You may call me Meir. Lana..."

She opened her eyes. His hand gripped her face gently. He leaned down his lips ghosting over hers.

"It would be mine. Like everything else belonging to you. I would make sure...everything was fine with...her."

Lana chuckled. "I am not as naive as you may think...Meir."

He shuddered at the sounds of his name.

"I just happened to find you? Do you think I'll believe that? No...I serve some purpose. You want me for a reason."

Meir smiled softly, kissing her gently. Lana allowed it, his kiss rough, possessive. He pressed her back.

"Lana..." he murmured roughly. "I don't know what it is about you...but I just can't you let you go free."

He looked up before vanishing. Lana exhaled sharply. He'd almost convinced her. God he'd almost convinced her.

Maybe she should pray. Yes, and salt. She got up, stumbling over the trashed room, opening the cabinets. She stared pouring salt at the entrances, tears streaming down her face.

Was she stupid? She'd almost let him talk her into the craziest, dumbest thing she'd ever heard.

"And I'm glad you know it."

She froze, turning around. A light haired man with blonde hair and blue eyes, and dark skin stepped over the mess.

"So now an angel shows up? After he's been haunting for weeks?" She muttered, throwing salt everywhere.

"Well...sorry for my late appearance. I've been...dealing with His return. Things are a bit out of wack."

She tossed him a glare over her shoulder. "Ya don't say?"

He chuckled putting his hands together and looking around before glancing down at her stomach.

"You know...the madness you're feeling is a side effect of him. But it also may be because...you're not supposed to carry around a deceased child, after it deceased."

Lana touched her stomach. "They said she'll leave when she wants."

The man smiled comfortingly, stepping closer. "No dear. You've ignored your bodies signs. You need to heal."

Lana scoffed leaving the room to continue throwing salt in another. "Plenty of women go through things like this. Why are you are instead of helping them?"

The man pursed his lips. "To warn you. You must not be convinced, Lana. If he is able to form a contract—any contract...it would be catastrophic."

Lana paused, looking at her empty container of salt. She tossed it down, stepping over it and grabbing her keys.

"Need more salt."

"I'm afraid that won't keep him out."

She tossed a look over her shoulder. "You don't have to be afraid."

His brows knit at the familiar phrase.

She got in the car driving away. He appeared in the backseat.

"As I saying, he is absolutely to not make any contract with you. He cannot have your soul, Lana. And your child especially cannot belong to him. Now, there are few things you can do. I will give you a bit of holy water. And a little purified silver—"

She looked him in the rear view mirror. "I thought he wasn't a vampire."

He chuckled. "He's not in that sense. But in the sense that he sucks the life out of everything he touches? Well...I'll these with you. I'll get going. Use that sparingly. I don't know when I'll be back to give you more."

He disappeared. Lana blinked. This was her life now. Angels, some random Apocalyptic vampire demon guy, and contracts.

The end of the world at stake.

It seemed an awful lot like none of her damn business. And she was tired of it. Why wasn't he harassing anyone else?

She went into Walmart, grabbing salt quickly, and checking out.

"Aw, when are you due?"

Lana looked up at the cashier and just shrugged. "Whenever she comes, I guess."
