《Senior Year》The Big Day!
Advertisement
You're now in the final stretch of the school year. It's also the end of May. You also got all of your clubs' cords for graduation. You were doing homework when you heard a truck pull up to your house. You looked through the window to see a mail truck. After it left, you opened the front door to see three packages on the porch. The biggest one was addressed to you. You looked at the sticker and saw that it was from Wes.
You took the package to your room and opened it up. It was a big binder. There was a cover page inserted in the front sleeve. It said, 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' and has 'Kelsey' below the title.
It's the script for the final movie of the Maze Runner series. You took a few minutes to admire this moment. You opened the binder and started to read the first few pages. Once again, Kelsey's lines were already highlighted and the blocking was already written in. You read up to where Gally comes back. You couldn't wait to see how that'll play out. The fans are going be so surprised for his comeback. You put the binder away and went back to doing your homework.
When you were done, you continued to read the script. You also noticed that Kelsey is in more scenes than in the Scorch Trials. You loved one of Newt's lines.
"Well, we started this together, we may as well end it that way too."
That would make an awesome senior quote or sum up senior year as a whole.
~~~~~~~~~~
It's now June. On the first Saturday, the Student Council is throwing a final event for the seniors to celebrate their final days of high school. It's called Senior Sundown. All of the seniors will hang out on the football field. There will be corn hole, giant Twister, relay races, making tie-dye shirts, lots of food, big group games, and watch the sunset together.
You drove Kendra and Emily to school for Senior Sundown. All three of you met up with Gwen and a few more of your friends. You all went onto the football field to find a perfect spot. There were only about a fourth of the class that was already there. You guys laid down blankets on the grass. Kendra and Gwen went to the tie-dye center to make shirts. You and Emily went to get food and sat down on the blankets. You saw Alex walking down the field with some of his friends. He was walking without crutches and he didn't have his cast on. He must've fully healed up.
After eating, you and Emily went to make tie-dye shirts. Before you guys left, Kendra and Gwen came back with their shirts. They looked very cool. When everyone got to the event, one of the teachers turned on the stadium lights and played some music through the big speakers. All of the seniors sat down on their blankets, while eating and discussing their future plans. Kendra and Emily got accepted into the same community college as you. Gwen got accepted into a four year university two hours away. Some other kids got into that conversation with you and your friends.
After everyone finished eating, the teachers played a small video, showing some old memories WAY BACK in freshman year. It felt good to look back at those memories. You and your friends started to cry. After the video, it was almost sunset. It was behind the stadium bleachers, so you guys couldn't get a good look at the horizon, but it was still beautiful and made a permanent memory in your heart.
~~~~~~~~~~
This week is final exam week. You didn't have to go into school at all that week because it's apart of your senior privileges. You passed all of your classes and there's no exam in any of them, so your teachers signed you as exempt for the week. It felt good to sleep in and not have to worry about schoolwork. But come Saturday, you'll be walking across the stage and receiving your high school diploma. You could hardly wait, but you were freaking out at the same time.

Since that you're not in school this week, you've been planning your graduation party with your family. It's going to be on the day of graduation since the ceremony isn't until that night. There will be a photo booth. All of your favorite foods. There will be a table of all your pictures from your childhood. Your cousin's mom is making a slideshow of your academic journey. Your family and friends will read letters to you at the end of the party. Then, everyone will be heading to the graduation.
~~~~~~~~~~
Today's the big day! Graduation Day! Everyone is getting ready for the party and for the ceremony. Your family and friends came to your house around 1:00pm. You got another surprise, Thomas and Dexter came! They said that they were there on behalf of the entire Maze Runner cast.
Everyone enjoyed the activities, food, and the slideshow. Now, it's time for the note reading. Your mom made you sit in a chair on the porch in front of everyone. Your family members went first, then your friends, then Thomas and Dexter. Their messages made you cry because they said very sweet things. Your parents were last to read their notes.
Mom: "I thank God every single day for choosing us to be y/n's parents. I am so proud of her for everything that she has done to get to where she's at now. She has a heart of gold and is a friend to all. I love you so much, sweetheart."
Dad: "I love you and I'm proud of you. Yes, it's short, sweet, and to the point."
Now, it's time to head to the graduation ceremony.
Those in this dungeon must kill monsters to survive; maybe even each other. Join Ely as he struggles to survive a ruthless environment. What replaces his rest is untold trauma. What seems like an innocent game trope turns into a nightmare. This is a story of tragedy and the path to ultimate power. All in the hopes of an uncertain survival. _________ This fiction has NOT been abandoned. I made a haughty promise earlier to not worry because I'll continue this series, and with things lately, I've only proved myself a liar. Further promises dwindled, and I've lost trust. So many things have been going on recently that I've been booked. I will refrain from making any future guarantees or promises as my busy schedule will stay with me for a long long while. Time for me to actually spend on writing and revising won't appear until at the least November 19. I won't say expect that's when I'll restart, but you can expect expecting it to maybe happen. That's really shallow. But with everything going on, I've let my small reading base down. I apologize. I still stick by my statement though that I won't abandon this project. I plan to stick it to the end, no matter the delay. Most importantly, thank you everyone; readers who both like and dislike my work. I appreciate your time spent on my dumb imagination. Stay toasty my readers in this winter season. Cheers. UPDATE: We're back on track. Thank you for your patience. Any future readers, heyo! Glad you're here. UPDATE 2: So far it's been 21 days since I last uploaded a chapter. The best thing done for any fiction, no matter how good it is, is that it continues, and I have a bad history with that. 1 fiction on hiatus and already more delays with less than 20 chapters in this fiction. I've been very preoccupied with adding more things to do in my life rather than actually committing to any particular thing. That applies primarily to this. I cannot abandon this, as busy as my future looks and will look as I get busier and busier. Someday, I hope, I will be able to sit down and just write. just. write. But for now, I ask for patience. I suppose I'm glad this fiction hasn't picked up so that I don't disappoint too many people if any really. But I need to commit and it's going to happen sometime and sometime soon. No more flowery words. I'll see you later. UPDATE 3: It's very evident I won't be able to pick up this story for a while. With AP Testing, competitions, and other things I am busier than ever. But I must complete this fiction. I have too. Until next time. UPDATE 4: It is now the summer. I owe everyone an apology. Chances are, nobody's around to see this, and that is okay. I only blame myself for this sort of brokenness of a fiction, not that it is actually that bad but I am just exaggerating it for dramatic effect.But what's not exaggerated is the severity of my broken promise. I apologize for my naive claims about finishing a novel that I couldn't finish and that I didn't have the discipline to finish. Nor the skills, really, I was and am still an immature writer.What is to place now? I want to make it clear I understand this is my fault. I will man up to this. And I will accept any criticism. I understand I messed up. Reading Stephen King's On Writing made it clear to me that I need to do two things:Read lots.And write lots.I have done neither. If I don't have the time to read often, how do I expect to write? I need to become more experienced. I need to become a serious writer.So if I want to dream of continuing, I need to at least fulfill both requirements. I enjoy writing. I haven't written seriously outside of school in a while. I planned to write this summer and finish this. I made a lot of promises that I didn't keep.So there's that. I won't enact any self-pity, or be foolishly obsessed. What I did was wrong, and I must deal with it. I let down readers. And I apologize.I hope I can find forgiveness. This is a writer's sin.I won't promise I'll finish this. I intend to finish this, at some point, because writing is fun and I want to write. But how things are don't reflect that. Maybe I'll finish this at some point. Maybe I won't. I won't be naive to make that promise.I thank everyone who has read this if this is the end. If not, and hopefully not, I thank everyone who is to read future chapters. I thank everyone who allowed me to live in the miniscule little dream of mine as I passed my days. I thank everyone who cares enough to read this. Until next time, peace everyone. Thank you. You are all great readers and great people. I wish everyone the best in whatever reading/writing endeavors follow you henceforth.
