《Senior Year》A Role in Godless

The past couple of days have been nice. No waking up early, no getting ready for school, and no homework or studying. Just relaxing. Or should you say chillaxing.
You were in the middle of coloring a picture and listening to music. Your music stopped playing and your ringtone went off. You looked at the screen and saw that Thomas was trying to call you. You stopped coloring and accepted the call.
"Hi Thomas." you said.
"Hey love. How's spring break going?" he asked.
"Good, a little boring. I haven't been doing much lately." you answered.
"Would you like to come out to New Mexico and see me?" Thomas asked.
You froze for a second. 'Did he really just say that?' you thought.
"Wait! What? Are you serious?" you questioned.
"Yes, I'm bloody serious. My director, Scott has been having trouble finding a girl to play a small character named Clara. I told him about you and showed him your Scorch Trials audition tape. He feels that you are the perfect fit." Thomas explained.
Then, another voice came on the other line.
"Well y/n, do you accept my offer?" a man's voice said. You assumed it was Scott.
"Yes. I'll have to ask my parents about it and I'll get back to you." you said.
"Alright. I hope to see you soon." Scott said.
"Bye, love." Thomas said.
"Bye." you said, then hung up.
~~~~~~~~~~
Your parents allowed you to go to New Mexico. When you got there, Thomas picked you up from the airport. You jumped into his arms and shared a hug. It was weird seeing him with a mustache.
He took you to the hotel, so that you can unpack. After that, he took you to the set. It was built like an old Western town. A man came up to you both.
"Hey Thomas. Is this our girl?" he asked.
"Yes sir. Scott, this is my girlfriend, y/n." Thomas said.
You and him shook hands, then he led you both off the set to have a meeting.
After that, Thomas took you to the horse stable.
"This is my horse, Chief." Thomas said.
The horse was chocolate brown with sparkling eyes. Thomas positioned your hand so that you could pet Chief.
"Let me show you your horse." Thomas said, walking further down the stable.
"I get a horse?" you questioned.
"Yeah. He's right over here." Thomas said.
As you walked closer, there stood a light gray horse. A woman was beside it, grooming its coat.
"Hey Jess. This is my girlfriend, y/n. She's going to be playing Clara." Thomas said.
You shook hands with Jess and she introduced you to the horse. His name was Sterling and he was really gentle.
"Do you want to get saddled up?" she asked.
"Sure." you answered.
Jess guided Sterling out of the stable and into the riding area. She handed you a helmet and gloves, then she helped you get up. Thomas was leaning over the fence as he watched you ride the horse. He secretly took some pictures.
~~~~~~~~~~
You have throughly enjoyed being in Godless with Thomas. The layout for Clara was interesting. She rides to-and-from the main village and Blackdum. Then, a strange group of men approach her and shoot her the leg, which causes her to fell and Sterling runs away.
Whitey comes to her rescue and takes her to the infirmary. She gives him information to catch the men who shot her. With that, Whitey believes that if he can figure this out, then he could get promoted to Deputy.

The Orb Weaver Chronicles
"The Orb Weaver Chronicles contains several major and unique events that may or may not unknowingly intertwines with one another. The author of these chronicles is unknown, although some have hinted at the symbolism behind its name..." - Year unknown, location unknown 9 February 2022 Update: Welcome to the companion short story compilation of my novel trilogy The Shadow Paradigm. This compilation features prequels, sidequels and sequels to the novel's major plotline, as well as featuring a wide range of characters, new and recurring. Prior knowledge of the novel is not necessary as the Orb Weaver Chronicles' short stories are standalone. Once called The Arkesyyan Chronicles, I've deleted quite a few of its old stories. Due to the new avenue and revision, oriented toward more mystery and film-noir ambience, that I took my stories into, I've removed all aliens and overly sci-fi aspects of the whole TSP lineup, so I've updated the Orb Weaver Chronicles accordingly. I hope you enjoy them, and in time, a revised version will also be updated.
