You jumped into Thomas's arms.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe it." you said in joy.

You let Thomas and his family come into your home.

"Mom! We have some guests." you called.

Your mom came into the living room to see what was going on. "Oh! Hi. Y/n, why didn't you tell me that they were coming?" she said to you.

You put your hands up in mock surrender.

"Don't look at me. I didn't know even that they were coming." you said to your mom.

"What are you guys doing here? You texted me, saying that you were going to your aunt and uncle's place." you asked Thomas.

"That was to throw you off the scent. My parents gave me plane tickets to come see you as a surprise." Thomas explained.

"And, when we FaceTimed, we did tell you that we wanted to meet you at some point." Ava pointed out.

You smiled at their comments. Thomas introduced you to his family and you did the same with your family. But, it'll get bigger when everyone comes. You showed them to the spare bedroom, where they can put their coats and luggage.

"So, what are the plans for tonight?" Tasha asked your mom.

"Well, in a few hours, the rest of the family is coming over for a bonfire. Then, we're gonna watch the ball drop at midnight." your mom said.

You sat on the couch with Thomas, Tasha, and Ava. Tasha started a conversation about what you do in school, the Scorch Trials, and the holidays. It's only been less than an hour and you already feel that Ava is like a big sister to you. Tasha is really nice too, like a second mother. Their accents were so mesmerizing to listen to.

"So, did you like my Christmas present?" you asked Thomas, grabbing his hand.

"Of course I did, love. It was the perfect gift. Did you like mine?" he said.

"Of course I did." you said, copying him.

It was around 4:00pm. Some of your family members were starting to come over. Your grandparents, and your aunt and uncle came in together. Once they got settled, you introduced them to Thomas and his family. They seemed to like them. Tasha and Ava helped them set up the food that they brought. Mark was outside with your dad, preparing for the bonfire. Thomas helped you write names on the cups.

About thirty minutes later, all of your cousins came. On the inside, you were preparing yourself for the worst. By worst, you mean they're gonna tease you about finally having a boyfriend. You've been tolerating their annoyance for so many years, looks like it's never ending. Oh well, that's what cousins, right?

Once everyone had settled down from coming in, you introduced Thomas and his family to the rest of yours. Now that everyone was introduced to one another, the party can start.

As the song says: "Celebrate good times! Come on! 'Cause it's a celebration!"

When the sun finally went down, all of you went outside to the bonfire. Mark and your dad passed out the ingredients for the s'mores. This reminded you of the bonfire in the Scorch Trials set. When everyone got cold, you all decided to go back inside. And just in time too, it's 11:30pm.

The minutes went by very fast. Everyone was counting down in unison, until both hands on the clock were on the twelve.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" everyone screamed.

You and Thomas had a kiss at midnight.
