《Senior Year》Friday Night Lights
Advertisement
Wow! Wednesday and Thursday went by fast. The first week of senior year is over. The weekend is here and it starts with a Friday night football game. The first football game of the season.
You and your family got your tickets and went up to the bleaches. 'We Will Rock You' was playing on the loud speakers. You went up to the student section, while your family went to the other side of the bleachers. You found Kendra and Gwen at the very top. It felt good to be back at a high school football game. Everyone was getting ready for the game.
The marching band was tuning their instruments, the cheerleaders were stretching, and there were still people coming into the game. On the other side of the field, there was barely anybody in the bleachers to see the opposing team.
It was now 7:00pm, which means the game should be starting any minute now. The cheerleaders walked out onto the field, near an inflatable football helmet. They held up a long poster.
A man came on the intercom. "Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready for SOME FOOTBALL?!" he said.
The football team ran out and everyone cheered for them. The marching band played a song for the team coming out. After that, the game started.
There were tackles, multiple attempts to score points, and LOTS of cheering. The other school has already scored five points. The marching band started to play ESPN to get people hyped up.
It worked!
The quarterback caught the football and ran! TOUCHDOWN!!! Everyone in the bleachers screamed their lungs out. Your school is now one point ahead of the opposing team. The score is now 6-5.
~~~~~~~~~~
It's now halftime. The score is now 17-8. You, Kendra, and Gwen were starting to get a little hungry. You guys walked down from the bleachers and went to the concussion stand. There was a small line, but you guys won't into watching the halftime performances. You got a bottle of water and a Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich. Kendra got popcorn and a Coke. Gwen got cotton candy and a bottle of water.
You guys walked back to the student section and saw that the marching band just finished. Halftime is over. Now, back to the game. The opposing team made a BIG comeback. The score is 17-27. Your school has a plan. It comes from the cheerleaders and help from the people in the bleachers.
All it takes is one special cheer. It goes like this:
"I."
"I Believe."
"I Believe That."
"I Believe That We."
"I Believe That We Will."
"I Believe That We Will Win!"
Everyone starts to cheer "I Believe That We Will Win!" as loud as they can.
As everyone was cheering the chant, a few football players were throwing the football to each other, then when it got to the quarterback, he ran. Seeing him run reminded you of Minho running. He dodged opposing players that tried to stop him from scoring.
He made it! TOUCHDOWN! Everyone cheered even more. The score is now 23-27.
It's now the final quarter and your school is only four points behind. The team needs to step up their game to get the last few points to win. The players lines themselves up one across each other. Someone in the student section started to cheer the mascot's name, then everyone else joined in.
The team did a play and scored the final winning points that were needed. Your school won the first game of the season!
The Deathseeker [Under Revision]
NOTE: This story has dark elements, but it's neither grimdark nor particularly edgy. It's also currently being revised. Satan's Axe...Lord of High Honor...The Immortal Giant...The Black Maelstrom...Son of Thunderfield...The Gods' Retribution. Dalric had many names. None were as fitting as his last, Dalric the Deathseeker. Born from an unwanted mating between the greatest warriors of the time, death was his only true kin. It birthed him, molded him, and now standing in the middle of a lifeless battlefield, it drenched him. The blood of thousands of soldiers soaked his skin. Two hundred thousand men approached him that day. All of them sought his life, none of them left with theirs. But they would not die in vain, they had accomplished their mission. Hidden beneath a thousand layers of their blood, was Dalric's very own. Feeling his life fade, he gazed weakly at his work. A seemingly endless array of corpses laid battered and disfigured before him. Some bore faces of horror, most had no face at all. His most trusted companion floated in front of him, blocking the view. Waves of sorrow flowed between them. “My time has finally come. I’ve begged for death and it’s finally arrived. My work is done...and so is yours. You’re free to be who you were meant to.” With his contract with the gods fulfilled, they were truly free. The centuries of torment would end. No longer would they have to walk the path of a monster. Little did Dalric know, the devil was in the details. What To Expect: A good time. In a few more words than that, a cast of believable characters in a unique world dealing with conflicts and problems a little bit more complex than punching the big evil guy in the face. Just a little though. Minimum Word Count a Week: 5000 Release Time(s): Between Friday 12pm EST and Monday 6am EST I also write A King in the Clouds
