17. Double Trouble...

No, I didn't want to rant about 'Big Boss-Double Trouble' show. But rather another trouble found in our very own dramas.

Twins, Doppelgangers, Mother and daughter. Yeah, this is about those look alikes that plague the Indian drama world.

It's a popular belief that there are 7 people in the world who look exactly like you and also that there is a 10% chance of you meeting your look alike. Fascinating right? To face your double. A good plot for a drama too. But it is overused and therefore cliche. When it gets gets the chance to rant. Which she will do now.

The probability of meeting your double might be almost nil. Well, it is damn if you come from the dramaland. Why, it could be even your long twin who was abducted by a goon or a random stranger who will turn out to be the rotten version of you.

There was this serial which showed three sets of look alikes. Now that, requires some great DNA matching skills. They even have the same voice, same face, same height. Way too much resemblance. Don't you think?

Absolutely no difference except for the choice of clothing. Dress change and ta da.... Kajal is a gaw ki chori (village girl) from a city girl. This is like literally telling, "Screw genetics and the laws of inheritance" Because apparently some children inherit the physique of only one parent.

Double roles allow an actor to portray different personalities and all that. I know... But why do they have to be repeated over and over again. Although I have to admit that some actors do a great job in playing such double roles.
