《A Mission With The Hokage ( A Naruto Fanfic)》To Become A Strong Ninja

It was now the start of a new day, the sun still hidden in the clouds as the air turned cold. It wasn't even 6am yet but Naruto burst into the boy's room, ordering everyone to wake up. Inojin and Shikadai were wide awake but for Boruto, it was a battle with sleep.
"Boruto! Hurry up and change already! The hokage-sama is waiting y'know?" said Inojin as he tried to pull Boruto out of the bed.
"F...Five more minutes..." mumbled Boruto.
"Hey....what happened to your hands?!" said Inojin with surprise as he looked at Boruto's bruised hands.
"He probably did some weird stuff while we were sleeping." sighed Shikadai.
"Doesn't look like he'll wake up. Help me out here, Shikadai." said Inojin as he tried to drag Boruto out of his bed.
"How troublesome." sighed Shikdai as he helped out.

At the girls side, Sarada and ChoCho faced a similiar problem with Himawari. She couldn't get out of bed at all. Furthurmore, they were especially surprised at the dirt stains on Himawari's legs and hands.
"Did she went out while we were asleep?" sighed Sarada.
"Like a sneaky little fox huh?" said ChoCho.
"Himawari, the hokage-sama is waiting for us so you gotta get ready now." said Sarada as she gently tapped Himawari.
"It's okay, tou-chan can wait as long as he wants~" mumbled Himawari as she continued to sleep.
"Haha, I don't think that would work Sarada-san. We gotta force her." said ChoCho as she easily pulled Himawari out of the bed.
"I don't have as much strength as you do ChoCho-san." said Sarada with a smile.

After a long wait, the kids finally arrived at the inn's cafeteria where Naruto was waiting for them. He had already finished his breakfast and was wondering what took them so long.

"Your food's already gone cold dattebayo!" said Naruto.
"Blame this idiot over here who won't wake up." sighed Shikadai as he pointed to a sluggish Boruto walking to the table.
"Hima-chan wouldn't wake up too..." said Sarada.
"Haha, don't mind them. Now then, eat up as much as you can!" said Naruto with a grin.
"Itadakimasu!" said everyone as they dug into their delicious breakfast.

Soon after, Naruto brought the kids to an open hot spring. There was hot steam engulfing the entire area until you couldn't see anything farther than 5 meters.
"Yosh! Today, I'm going to teach all of you how to stand on water!" said Naruto.
"I knew it..." mumbled Sarada to herself.
"First, let me demonstrate for you! It's not a magical trick alright?" said Naruto as he easily walked onto the water with chakra focusing on his feet.
"So, all we have to do is to focus our chakra flow onto our feet?" asked Inojin.
"Yup! But it's not gonna be very simple on the first try!" said Naruto with a smirk.
The boys went first as they slowly took a light step into the water. Shikdai and Inojin managed to float steadily for a while before dropping into the hot, steaming water. Boruto on the other hand, immediately fell into the water. It was definately a wake-up call for him.
"HOT! IT'S HOT DATTEABASA!!" shouted Boruto in pain as he quickly climbed back to the surface.
"I almost got it right. Let's do this again!" said Inojin with confidence as he stepped into the boiling, hot water again.
"That's not fair dattebasa! If you're going, I'm gonna go too!" shouted Boruto as he followed Inojin into the water.
"How troublesome." sighed Shikadai as he didn't bother to follow the two and instead, sat down in the corner.

After a couple of tries and splashes of hot water, it was time for the girls to try. Surprisingly, they all got in without a single falter. The girls were steadily floating which no difficulty at all. They stood for about three minutes before falling into the hot water.
"Not bad you three! Definately better than those soaked boys over there haha!" laughed Naruto with pride. It seems that the kids would have no problem being a ninja.
"It's easy. We just need a sense of meditation." said Sarada.
"Tch! So, you want to see who can stand the longest dattebasa?!" challenged Boruto.
"Very well. I'm confident that you will fall first." said Sarada with a smirk.
"We haven't even started yet!"
Eventually, the duel between Boruto and Sarada was finished within seconds. Boruto fell in after just less than twenty seconds.

Next, Naruto taught the kids various taijutsu techniques in order to better protect themselves. He had set up various lessons that would take up the whole day in order to make them better ninjas in the future. He had already identified the chakra types the kids had and arranged it to suit their fighting styles.
It was definately a tiring day for the kids as they went through chakra control, taijutsu, basic ninjutsu and learning how to escape a basic genjutsu lessons. They learnt a lot in just one day and even thought that the hokage was better than their academy teachers.
It was finally lunch time and the kids were all at the cafteria chowing down their lunch. But, Naruto noticed that his kids, Boruto and Himawari were missing. He headed out to the garden and smiled. Boruto and Himawari were sparring with each other, wasting no time to train despite being hungry.
Naruto couldn't hide his fatherly smile as he quietly watched on, sitting at the side.
"Hokage-sama, aren't you gonna eat? Ah, Boruto and Himawari..." said Sarada as she noticed Naruto watching the two children.
"It's kind of nice to see them so hardworking. Reminds me of myself back then." chuckled Naruto.
"Was papa like that too?" asked Sarada as she sat down beside Naruto.
"Sasuke was just like you. Strong and undefeatable."
"I see...."
"Anyways, you should go and eat lunch. You've done a lot of training today." smiled Naruto as he gently caressed Sarada's head.
"Hokage-sama!!" yelled a voice from across the corridor. It was ChoCho running towards Naruto and Sarada.
"Yeah? Did something happen-ttebayo?" asked Naruto casually.
"Like yeah! I mean, it's serious trouble!" said ChoCho as she tried to catch her breath.
"Inojin and Shikadai are...."
"Great, not again." sighed Naruto.
Naruto and Sarada's eyes widened as they quickly followed ChoCho.
~X~
At the garden where Boruto and Himawari were busy sparring with each other:
"Yosh! Hima-chan, you gotta aim your thrusts a bit more to the vital points dattebasa!" said Boruto as he pointed where Himawari should actually hit.
"But you keep blocking those areas, how am I suppose to hit it?"
"That's why you have to try and overtake me!"
"Nii-chan's arms are so big, there's no way I can do that" pouted Himawari.
It was at that moment, the two noticed something strange. There was a sudden speck of black smoke coming from the side of the garden. The smoke slowly developed into a human-like shape and eventually formed into a snake.
It was Orochimaru.

*** Please read note below *** As a 16-year-old mage from a powerful family, Jayce Candor had known from a young age what his future would hold. House Candor, one of the six great houses that helped build the Eldoran Empire had been erased from history. With no home, no family, and only death waiting for him, Jayce decided to escape north to the uncharted Northern Territories to begin a new life. Forced into situations he was never prepared for and trying to cope with his past, Jayce tries to find safety in a place spoken about only in legends. There for the first time, he will make true friends and find people he will come to see as family. He will encounter strong enemies, build powerful alliances, and become a person his ancestors would be proud of. But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.

Kichiro's Rampage
Meet Kichiro, the son of a samurai. A social outcast, he leaves his home with nothing but a musket and a sword, determined to carve himself a niche in a chaotic world of dragons and leviathans. This fiction incorporates LitRPG elements, but it's not set in a VR. It's set in a fantastical world based loosely on East Asia in the 16th and 17th Century, when the Ming Dynasty was on its last legs, with the addition of magic and monsters. I totally stole the stat tables from Exterminatus, the author of Everybody Loves Large Chests, so let me credit him for that. I'm new to writing so please don't hesitate to criticise, and reviews would be greatly appreciated.
