《Neko Eren》Neko Eren part 1

Hanji is carrying a stack of papers given to her by Erwin, to give to Levi. She had stopped at his office only to see him not there. Hanji then goes to the mess hall to look. Instead she sees the members of the 104th squad, including Eren. But no Levi. She walks up to them.
"Have any of you seen Levi?" The entire squad looks at Eren and his eyes widen.
"Why are you all looking at me?!" One of the boy's speaks up, his face reminded Hanji of a horse.
"Probably because you follow the corporal around like a lost puppy." So it wasn't just Hanji who noticed that. Eren stood up.
"I do not!" The horse face boy smirks.
"You do to! Your face is turning red."
"It is not!"
"Wait boys," Hanji stops them. "Eren, do you know where Levi is?"
"In the back, behind the stables." Hanji nods and walks out. She hears the horse face boy yell.
"See! You do!"
"I only know cause that is where I saw him last. I had been in the stables cleaning!" That was the last she heard as she walks out to the stables. She goes behind and stops, jaw dropping. There was Levi, sitting on a blanket with like 10 cats surrounding him. He had catnip and another cat was curled up in his lap. He was petted it. Hanji backs away slowly grinning. Levi, Humanity's Strongest, had a cat fetish. Suddenly she got an idea and her eyes grew that crazed look that scared people. She had a little experiment to do and there was one she needs, whether he wanted to or not. Hanji runs back inside. She runs to the mess hall to see the cadets but no Eren.
"Where is Eren?" The boy with the horse face looks up.
"He went to his cell I think. Wh-" But Hanji was gone. She flew down the stairs and stops at the cell door. She finds Eren laying on his bed.
"Oi! Eren!" Eren shoots up and looks at Hanji.
"What?"
"Get up. I want to do an experiment and I need your help."

"Why me?"
"Cause I need Titan blood." Such a lie, but the boy fell for it. He gets up and follows Hanji out the door. Hanji walks into her office/room and shuts the door.
"Have a seat." Eren sits. Hanji goes to the back of the room and to a closet. She grabs a sleep potion. She straps Eren down.
"Hanji...what are you doing?"
"Oh, that is just for safety." She pulls out a syringe filled with a liquid.
"Hanji!" There seem to be real terror behind his big green eyes.
"Sssh, Eren." She injects him as Eren struggles. But soon his struggles weaken and he falls into a deep sleep.
"Night, night Eren."
Hanji checks her watch for the fifth time. Did her potion not work? Suddenly two fuzzy things pop from Eren's head. Hanji grins and watches as a tail grows. Eren's nails sharpen. She pries open Eren's eyes to see green cat silted pupil eyes and the looked in Eren's mouth and saw sharpen teeth. Perfect and then she grabs her clipboard and her pencil and writes down.
Neko, half cat half human experiment.

Hanji looks up and then grins. She then adds to her notes.
Levi's reaction: undecided
Hanji knew that Eren would wake up soon so she had to time this right. She grabs a piece of paper and writes.
Levi, we need to talk. Come to my office. Hanji.
She steps out and sees one of the 104th cadets. One of Eren's friends, Andrew? Andy? No Armin.
"Hey Armin!" He jogs over to her.
"Yes Squad leader Hanji?"
"Find Levi and give this to him." Armin nods and salutes. He runs off. Hanji sits in her chair backwards, her chin on the back of the chair.
Eren's eyes blink open and the first thing he realizes is that his eye sight has improved by much, somehow.

"Ah so you are awake." Eren feels his ears twitch. Wait twitch? Eren reaches up to find fuzzy ears. His eyes widen as he turns and looks into a mirror near him. He lets out yelp. He had cat ears!
"Ah! Hanji! What did you do to me!?"
"Nothing!" Hanji hid her notes behind her back.
"Nothing?! You call this nothing?! Hanji, I have cat ears!" The ears point up as if they knew he was talking about them. Eren's tail flickers, as if to tell Eren that it was there to. Eren looks down and yelps.
"Hanji! Seriously!? What will everyone say?" Hanji grins.
"More importantly what will Levi say?" Eren's eyes widen and he jumps up and hides in Hanji's supply closet.
"I am not coming out until this goes away!"
"Well you will be in there for a long time. I have no idea when it will go away. It is an experiment."
"I thought you needed me for my titan blood?!"
"Eh, that was a lie. No one would volunteer and needed you to do it."
"Why me?"
"Well..." There is a knock.
"Oi, shitty glasses, you wanted to talk?"
"Levi! Come in!" Hanji hears a gasps and Levi pushes open the door.
"Is it safe? I really don't want some mutant tail or something." Hanji hears a small gasp and she laughs.
"It is safe! Come on in." Levi steps in. Hanji eyes him carefully. He was wearing the same clothes from earlier, but not a sign of cat hair.
"Oi, shitty glasses. What are you staring at? And why did you send Arlert to me?"
"I saw you today Levi."
"Saw me?"
"Behind the stables." Hanji grinned at Levi's expression. His eyes widen.
"How-"
"Let's just say I have my sources. Now about your little fetish..."
"It isn't a fetish! I just like cats." Hanji grins.
"I saw you with 10 cats, Levi. You looked absolutely adorable!"
"Tch. Is that why you called me here?"
"Well part of the reason." Hanji sits in her spinning chair, backwards. "The other part was pure genius."
"Pure genius? Your genius gives people nightmares." She laughs.
"Well you see Levi, I have been trying to find a volunteer for this little experiment of mine."
"I will not."
"Not you silly! Well anyways, no one would volunteer."
"I wonder why..." He muttered. Hanji ignored him. She was on a role.
"So after my little finding, I knew I had the perfect person. I convinced, with a little twist of words, for this person to be my volunteer."
"So what was your experiment?" That look returned to Hanji's eyes.
"Do you know what a neko is Levi?"
"I have heard of them. Half cat creatures, correct?"
"Right! I was doing research. There are like no more. If there are, they are in hiding."
"I wouldn't be surprised." Hanji nods.
"But I wanted to see a real one, so I made a small potion."
"And?"
"And my results are in my supply closet." Hanji heard a gasp.
"Go look." Levi pushes off the wall he was leaning on. Hanji could practically see Eren trying to make himself smaller in the closet. Levi grabs the handle. Hanji grabs her clipboard and pushes her chair into a place where she will be able to see. Levi opens it and looks down. His face was emotionless but his eyes widen just a bit. Hanji watches as a faint hue appears on Levi's cheeks.
"Oi, shitty four eyes. What is this?"
"Neko Eren! Isn't he cute?" Levi turns away.
"Jaeger, I want to see you in my office. Now." Levi stomps out. Hanji laughs, hard enough to fall backwards in her chair. Eren steps out.
"Thanks a lot Hanji! Now Levi will do-I don't know something!" Hanji only cackles more as Eren leaves, his tail swaying angrily.
After 10 minutes of laughter, she gets up and calms her breathing. She grabs her clipboard and looks at it.
Volunteer's reaction: Angry, shocked, and slightly embarrassed.
Hanji grins as she looks at the next part.
Levi's reaction: Priceless
Then she files it and skips out, to do her normal spying on her favorite couple. Even if they aren't together. Well not yet anyways.

This is her story, as she grows into adulthood, masters her abilities, and learns to care about more than just herself. Manaseared is an episodic fantasy adventure serial. It's also a pastiche of early D&D and RPGs in general, and an attempt to explore at what it might really mean to be a first level adventurer.
