As I reach the outside stairs of the ballroom, I see a few groups of Scouts wandering around to get some air. There are couples kissing, some people drunk and then me, a loner on my way to the pond. I take my hair out of the bun, letting it fall down my sticky face. I take off my heels that ache my feet and throw them in the dirt and inside place my necklace and earrings. I begin to waddle to the pond, my dress being so restricted to run, when my foot steps on something sharp.

"Agh!" I spit, tears running down my face. I get up from the fall to see my foot, bleeding, probably from glass I stepped on. Blood oozes on my fingers and sticks to my white dress as I try to wipe it off.

"Shit," I shake as I ruin my dress with my bloody fingers. I wipe my face of the tears that blur my vision, and see black ink on my hands from my mascara. I rub that along with the blood on my white dress and begin to cry at the sight. My mom spent so long on this dress, and now it's ruined. I notice a loose thread at the side, and tug it, unthreading the whole seam at the right side of my dress up to my hips.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)! Where are you?" I hear a frightened Bertholdt call my name. I get up, still aching and now run, my dress allowing me to. Once I reach the pond, I slump down, fat, juicy tears pouring from my eyes and into my hands. I dip my palm into the water, the ice cold chilling my body over.

I cup some and splash it on my face, all the makeup leaking off. If Eren didn't think I was beautiful before, he defiantly won't now. I look a wreck. I look into my reflection...most my makeup is off but you can still see marks of it underneath. My dress is another whole story-what used to be snow white is now covered in mascara, blood and mud. If my shoes and necklace get stolen from the stairs where I left them, there is nothing I can really do. Eren's right, I don't know if I care anymore.

I remember his hug today, the hug I thought I would be getting tonight. But no, Mikasa gets that privilege. I don't want anyone to find me here, I don't deserve support off people that aren't as lucky as myself. I then hear crunching leaves, and look up to my side...

"Marco?" I whisper, tears staining my face. He looks at me with a glowing light around him, a holy light, it is him.

"Promise me, whatever happens today...we'll stay best friends," He says in monotone.

I crumble my face into my hands and begin to cry loud, Marco, he would've danced with me. Even Jean told me earlier today...

"Why would Eren look at me?" I muttered as we were in the bathroom.

"Because you're beautiful. Marco thought so," Jean replied.

"What?" I said, shocked.

"He had a crush on you, (Y/N). I wasn't supposed to tell you...but he's gone now. He'll forgive me,"

I cry wet, salty tears and wonder how many I've got left, when I hear an abnormal crack of lightning strike the woods. I know it's not a storm, as the sky is empty, and only filled with twinkling stars.
