《TodoBaku - Soulmate》5

Settling things with Bakugo did not go as Todoroki planned. They rarely ever saw each other, with internships taking up their time and then the final exams right before their school trip.
Todoroki hoped that this trip would bring them together so that he could talk to Bakugo. He would need to do it discreetly but this was Bakugo he was talking about. Todorki didn't even know where to start the conversation. Should he just outright say it or dodge around the subject and find out if Bakugo even had a soul mark first?
Maybe he should go to Midoriya after all...the man seemed to know everything about everyone, especially Bakugo since they were childhood friends. But he didn't want to make a bit deal out of this and was sure Bakugo would want the same if they were soulmates.
So when everyone went to the hot springs, Todoroki thought of it as a perfect chance. He would surely be able to get a look at Bakugo's chest while there.
Todorki sat along the edge of hot spring, dipping his feet in and watching everyone play around and talk to one another. He made sure to keep his second mark away from everyones view, not wanting Midoriya to see or others to question him for having two marks. He kept an eye out for Bakugo, discreetly waiting for him to come out.
"What we want is beyond this wall..." He heard Mineta say just as Bakugo strutted out towards the hot spring. Todoroki let his eyes wander to Bakugo's chest and let out a grunt of frustration, noticing how Bakugo's towel hung over his shoulder and covered his chest right where his mark would be.
Watching his every move, Todoroki waited for a moment to see if his mark would ever peek out from behind Bakugo's towel, but it never happened. It was as if Bakugo knew and purposely kept hidden which made Todoroki disappointed.

Still he looked. Watching intently as Bakugo dipped into the pool, muscles rippling and his thin, yet toned, arms hanging off the side of the rocks. Speckles of water fell off his hair and down his chest in an almost methodical way that made Todoroki's whole body feel hot.
He wanted to get closer to Bakugo and swipe the water from his hair, caressing his face and then-
"AHH!" Kouta suddenly screamed, sending Todoroki into high alert. The kid started to fall off the giant fence separating the two hot springs. Midoriya caught him before Todoroki could act, and he forced his body to calm down.
Todoroki left shortly after, deciding that watching Bakugo any longer would not lead to anything (a/n: except an erection). He was sure he would get another chance to talk to him anyways.

Bakugo and Todroki got paired up for the test of courage, and Todoroki couldn't be more thankful, unlike Bakugo who looked about ready to kill someone.
Todoroki walked right next to Bakugo, no matter how annoyed he looked, and waited patiently for a good time to talk. A couple of B-class students jumped out at them, which didn't scare Todoroki very much. He looked to Bakugo, finding the other man just standing there trying to contain his rage.
"Bakugo...are you ok?" Todoroki questioned hesitantly, trying to start conversation.
"Huh?! The fuck kind of question is that? Go die, half-and-half bastard!" Bakugo yelled back all to quick, his whole body standing on edge.
They continued on without a word, and Todoroki tried to think of another way to talk to him."I heard you don't have a soulmate," Todoroki said, turning to Bakugo to ask him another question."Is-"
Bakugo slammed him against the nearest tree, seething with anger."Who the fuck told you that?! I'll kill them!" He growled lowly, small explosions coming out of his hand right next to Todoroki's all to calm face.

"So its true?" Todoroki asked back, not affected by Bakugo's empty threats. He was on a mission and couldn't let such trifle things bother him. Bakugo clenched his teeth, and his whole body started to shake. Todoroki couldn't tell what from.
Was he angry at him or scared? Maybe Todoroki's theory was right, and Bakugo was his soulmate.
Todoroki swiftly turned Bakugo around, switching spots with him so that Bakugo was now backed against the tree, Todoroki's leg pushing in between his own. He leaned towards Bakugo, mouth right next to his ear as some of his hair brushed against Bakugo's face, making him flinch.
"Answer me," Todoroki commanded, voice sending shivered down Bakugo's spine as his hot breath ghosted over his ear. Bakugo was startled by Todoroki's sudden change but wouldn't let him get the upper hand.
He pushed him away a look of pure anger on his face as he forced small explosions out of his hands."Whats it to you, bastard?!" He yelled, wanting to keep his distance from Todoroki. That was way to close, he almost gave himself away.
Todoroki's face didn't change, but Bakugo could tell something inside him shifted."I've acquired another soul mark," he said instead of answering Bakugo's question, cutting straight to the point.
"Like I said, what does that have to do with me?!"
Todoroki closed his eyes briefly, organizing his thoughts."I have reason to believe you are the one who also bears this mark," he said, mustering his courage."So please answer me, Bakugo, do you have a soul mark?"
There was a long silence, the two teens staring at each other as the air slowly turned thick. Todoroki eagerly waited for Bakugo to reply, knowing there was no way for the man to get out of this. He desperately needed to know.
What was going on his Bakugo's mind?
"Thats none of your business," Bakugo said back seriously, no explosions, no yelling, just a tense demeanor and a calm voice.
At that moment Todoroki felt the urge to just go and punch Bakugo. How could he do such a thing? Bakugo knew how serious he was, so why did he just brush him off so casually?
Todoroki could feel the anger start to reach his face and tried desperately to control his emotions."You..."
A guy came stumbling out from the trees next to them, and Todoroki recognized that he was from B-class. He suddenly collapsed on the floor and along with him came a wave of unknown gas.
Todoroki and Bakugo instantly turned their attention to the situation."We'll talk about this later," Todoroki said, covering his mouth and grabbing the student.
Bakugo didn't say anything back as the two instead focused on making it through the gas, all earlier thoughts abandoned.
Later, Todoroki promised himself, I will find out later...for sure.
