shaking hands, jeongguk slowly nodded, a nervous smile appearing on his face. the professor smiled, walking over and watching him prepare. he could feel the stares of everyone on his back. this wasn't going to go well, he knew it.
he, thankfully, knew the first steps of how to draw blood. he knew them all, so why was he worrying? he took a deep breath before focusing. slowly, he went through the steps. finding the blood flow in the veins near the elbow, using the band to keep it there, all of it. then came the piercing part. he was usually accurate during sports, so he didn't have a problem with this. plus, it was just a fake person.
slowly, he inserted the needle after connecting it to the tube which would collect the blood. he smiled as he pierced the vein right on. they only needed about two tablespoons. watching the measurements, jeongguk waited until it was time to pull out the needle.
once he did, he took one of the tiny cotton rags and pressed it onto the arm, applying pressure. he grabbed the tape, tearing it off and taping the cotton onto the arm. he noticed right when he finished at how much he was shaking. he looked towards the professor, who was impressed and happy.
“you can go to the restroom, jeongguk, you need it,” they whispered. jeongguk bowed before rushing out.
he found the restroom, busting into it and leaned onto the counter. euphoria rushed over him. he did it! he really did it! he looked up and faced himself in the mirror, smiling, but he was definitely very nauseous. he turned on the sink, the water flowing out quickly. he splashed some of it into his face, washing his hands while he was at it.

sighing as he stood up straight again, he looked his appearance. he still had those dark rings under his eyes, but that didn't bother him right now. he stretched out a little bit before collecting himself and walking back to class. while on the way there, he spotted yoongi, who was presumably heading towards the restroom. jeongguk looked towards the wall, not wanting to make eye contact.
they passed each other, and it seemed as if time had slowed down. jeongguk's heart beat quickly. he had yet to tell yoongi what had happened, but yoongi didn't want to speak to him, did he? after taking another step, time resumed again. normal pace, normal time. he walked, turning the corner. yoongi did not speak to him. he sighed in relief and entered the classroom.
after about an hour, they were given the paper finals, and once they finished that, they were free to leave. it didn't take him long, and once he finished, he turned it in and left, giving a small smile. his last class would be when he found out if he passed or not.
he left the building, quiet but full of relief. he had finally finished. a brisk, warm breeze blew over the campus. he felt at peace. only then did he smile widely. it was only going to get better from here.
“what to do..? perhaps go treat myself for pushing through?” jeongguk asked himself, nodding. he hoisted his bag straps up and started for the cafe. they had good desserts, especially black forest cake. he loved that. he bounced in his step, and after about twenty minutes of walking, he reached the cafe.
he fell into line, waiting for his turn to order, which wasn't long. he ordered a slice of black forest cake and a mint mocha. after he paid, he found a seat and waited for them to call his name. he continued to smile, looking through his phone.
the seat in front of him was pulled out, forcing him to look up. he froze, his smile fading.
yoongi stood there, looking down at him before taking his seat.
“let's talk, jeongguk.”

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
