"there a gas station anywhere?" I asked, running a hand through my hair. Ella glanced at me, shrugging, "Why?"
I huffed,"I'm hungry and need to pee." My bladder felt like it was about to bust. She nodded, searching the streets for any signs. Finding one, she slowed down before pulling in.
"Get me some food." Ella slumped against the seat, grinning at me. Laughing, I shook my head soon noticing that Hayes' jeep and the Cadillac Escalade parked beside us.
Biting my lip, I bent over in the seat, grabbing a twenty. I walked through the entrance, and jogged to the bathroom. After doing my business, I grabbed some sour patch kids, a bag of sour skittles, and two red bulls.
I set the things on the counter, tapping my fingers on it while I waited. The girl at the front, phone in hand, used her thumbs to type rapidly. "Here." a voice said behind me, reaching an arm around me to place a Dr. Pepper next to my things.
Glancing over my shoulder, I realized it was Hayes. His hands were shoved in his swimming shorts' pockets, chewing on his lip.
I turned away, groaning, "Ma'am, can you hurry up?" The brunette looked up, smacking on her gum as she glared at me, "Fine, bitch." she scanned the things as my eyes were wide at what she called me.
Hayes quickly handed the girl a twenty dollar bill, mine in my hand, before I could pay. "I have my own money."
He licked his lips after glancing down at me when I grabbed the candy and drinks,"Whatever, baby girl."
"Asshat." I whispered, walking away before being pulled into his chest.
Hayes grazed his fingers under my shirt, grasping his drink and whispering,"We're talking later. Again." I watched him push open the door, leaving me flushed.

Gulping, I walkied outside, avoiding his gaze as he watched me where he stood at the other car, telling Cam something.
"Hey, love." Ella smiled as I gave her the red bull and sour patch kids.
"You look flustered, was there a hot ass boy in there?" she asked. I bit my lip, "Hayes."
She laughed,"So yes, okay."
"Ye-Wait, what?"
-
"Ugh. It's breezy, and I'm fricking cold." I grumbled.
Ella nodded, watching me sip the red bull. "Girls, c'mon," Johnson motioned for us. I sighed, looking up at the dark sky before following in step beside Hayes accidentally. He pulled off his T-shirt before tossing it at me.
I had left his other shirt in the truck, not knowing it was going to be windy. "Nah, you might get cold." I mumbled, trying to hand it back to him.
"You need it more," he shrugged, leaving me to go talk to Nash.
Ella glanced over her shoulder, stopling for me to catch up,"Where has Grace been?" I asked.
"Virgnia to visit family. She'll be back before you leave." she explained, playing with the tips of her blonde hair. I pulled my eyebrows together, "I'm staying another two weeks."
Ella shrieked, "You're fucking kidding me!" I shot her an eye roll, bumping shoulders with her. We laughed, watching the boys and Maya walking ahead of us. We weren't in our usual spot, and it seemed like we had awhile to walk.
I pulled out my phone, and checked the time. 10:32. I thinned my lips, wrapping my arms around my body, the soft fabric of the boys tee warming me. "Hayes keeps glancing at you." Ella whispered.
I looked his way, my eyes catching his. He held the gaze, winking at me. I shook my head, biting back the smile. "I'm supposed to be mad at him." I muttered.

Ella smiled at me, " You shouldn't be. Maybe he won't trying to play you. He looks like he really likes you."
I laughed bitterly, "That's funny." She only looked away from me, while my eyes stared at my feet. We finally stopped, yells were heard along with a lights blinding me.
Trucks were in a row, flashing the sand and water for light while people danced to music or swam in the water. My eyes went wide while the boys ran towards the group of people. "Why are we at a party?"
My fists clenched as another breeze came, and I huffed before looking at Hayes. He walked my way, stopping in front of me. "We need to talk, baby girl."
I scoffed,"Go call some other girl that." His eyebrows pulled together before he shook his head, "We both know you don't want me to do that."
"Let's talk." I said, rolling my eyes, watching Ella walk away with Cameron. We were alone, a few feet away from the area where everyone else was at. He followed me to Ella's where I put down the trunk, sitting on the edge of it.
He stood in front of me while I messed with the hem of his shirt. "Can you're tell me why you're fucking mad at me?" he caught my gaze.
"Why?" I asked, watching as he clenched his fist and jaw.
I sighed, glancing at the waves. I licked my lips, looking down at at hands,"You kiss me then act like nothing happened between us. You can talk to a girl, but I can't talk to a boy without you going crazy. You play with my feelings. You don't care about me even when I care about you."
He stared at me, my watery eyes glistening from the reflection of the moon. Something flashed though his eyes, his teeth grazing over his bottom lip before he ran a hand through his hair. "I-"
"I don't care what you have to say. You'll probably say how absurd it is for me to think that you are even doing this-"
My words were cut short as his lips pressed against mine, his hands grasping the sides of the shirt to help pull me into him. I sat there, frozen. It felt wrong in the moment, but I couldn't stop myself from returning the kiss.
His lips found their way to my jaw line, trailing kisses along it before meeting my lips again. His teeth grazed my lip, tugging at it slightly. "Why do you talk so much, baby girl?"
My eyes opened before I stared at him in shock, "You can't just do that." I let the tears fall, shoving him away. He looked at me in confusion, clearly caught off guard at my tears. He sighed, pulling me into him for a hug.
I layed my head against his chest, more upset and confused than I was before.

The Woman In The Palace
Highest rank #1 in Historical He glared at me with irritation. "Come inside!" ...And I did. He pointed to the stack of books on the floor. "Pick them up and arrange them the way they're supposed to."With trembling hands, I did what he asked quickly. Fret in the way I moved, picking up the books into my arms and lap one by one only for them to fall back on the floor over and over. I was a mess, upset, and it was obvious. This wasn't the kind of first meeting I dreamed of.The second prince was mean, and he was irritable. He had no clue who I am which made me resent it even more.He scowled as he watched me made mistakes after mistakes and after a while, he grew frustrated and bent over, picking the books himself."Forgive me, I didn't mean to snarl at you the way I did. I'm not used to being distracted. No one ever walks in my office unless they have my permission. I don't even know how the guardsmen let you in." I wanted to say because unlike you, they recognized who I am. But I kept my mouth shut in fear of aggravating his anger. His voice took a lot gentler tone, I imagined he must've realized how upset I was and felt bad about it.I said nothing. When we're done, I rose up to my feet, couldn't wait to get out of this room. This man was so impolite to me that I couldn't wait to get away from him."I apologize, your highness. I didn't mean to distract you in your private office." I stepped back getting ready to leave when a sliver of sunlight struck highlighting my face. "Wait!" He murmured and I turned back to look at him."You're beautiful." He said breathlessly.I would have blushed, but he was so mean and rude to me that his compliment lost its impact long ago."I need to go," I told him."Wait." A wave of panic rose in the tide of his voice. The prince was afraid to lose me. "What's your name, girl?" He asked quickly. "Jasmine, my name is Jasmine, your highness.""My Jasmine?" He murmured hopeful.
