into the kitchen, I plugged my charger into the outlet and connected my phone to it. I grabbed a water bottle from the fridge before setting my hand on the counter and hearing a crunch.
I bit my lip hard, holding back the cry of pain. Gasping, I lifted up my hand slowly, seeing the crushed glass shards of a beer bottle. "Hey, ba-fuck, what happened?" Hayes came to my side, taking my wrist in his hand.
The blood dripped onto the counter from the gash, and I buried my head into Hayes' chest, not able to talk. "C'mon, Mal." he picked me up, rushing me to the downstairs bathroom and setting me onto the counter.
My lips pressed into a line while tears rolled down my cheeks. Hayes turned on the water, bringing my hand under it. "Were there any pieces of glass that got in your hand?" he asked, bringing a hand up to my cheek, wiping the tears away with his thumb.
I shook my head suddenly forgetting about the pain, blushing at the contact. He nodded, opening the first aid kit and bringing out the supplies while I squeezed my eyes shut and leaned against the mirror.
He stood between my legs, grasping my wrist. Finally bringing myself to talk, I peaked out one eye,"Are you done, yet?"
He glanced up at me,"Almost." I nodded, watching as he wrapped up my hand after cleaning it and treating it with cream. I sucked in a breath as I flexed my hand.
Hayes stood up straight, still taller than me even as I sat on the counter. "Thanks." I breathed, avoiding eye contact as he studied my face.
His hand layed on my bare thigh,"You were pretty drunk last night." He let out a laugh at my blush.

Biting my lip, I glanced up at him."Yeah, thanks for taking care of me." He shrugged, running a hand through his disheveled hair, my eyes traveling down his bare chest.
Catching his gaze, I kept eye contact as his blue eyes darkened as I bit my lip once again. I internally sucked in a breath as he leaned down, coming closer. I watched as his eyes flicked between mine and my lips until his face was only millimeters away.
Biting the inside of my cheek, I licked my lips. Hayes murnered something under his breath before he moved both hands on my thighs, capturing my lips with his.
I closed my eyes, kissing back as forcefully as he moved our bodies closer. Sighing into the kiss, Hayes trailed his hands under my shirt, resting them on my bare sides.
He took my bottom lip between his teeth, pressing me farther back against the mirror. I realized I needed more air, not able to breath from my nose and broke the kiss. Panting, I blinked rapidly.
I whipped my head toward the door, hearing footsteps, "Hey, what're you guys doing in here?"
Hayes ran a hand through his hair again, eyeing Shawn. "Mal cut her hand on glass."
"Oh, are you okay?" I nodded at Shawn's question before sliding off the counter last Hayes, glancing at him before standing in front of Shawn.
I glanced back at Hayes who trailed his tongue across his lips while he eyed me, pushing his hair out of his face. I sighed, gulping at the thought of what just happened.

"Today's weather in Florida...." I clenched my jaw, thinking of Hayes again. The sound of the Jeep door shut was heard after me and Shawn had headed into the kitchen to clean up the glass.

Now I was lounging on the couch, watching the weather channel because my mind could not focus on anything else important and honestly, I wasn't missing anything as I thought about the kiss.
We had just fixed our relationship and now-
I gasped, caught off mid thought as icy water splashed down my body. A chorus of laughter was heard, and I huffed out of irritation, biting my lip to lessen the anger.
I glanced back to see Shawn holding the bucket along with a bent over Carter and Matt."Babe, I'm sorry."
"Don't call me babe." I sneered at Shawn who wasn't taking me seriously. I pushed the hair out of my face, suddenly catching them off guard as I smiled to cover up my emotions.
Matt stepped closer to me, "Mal?"
The front door opened, Hayes and Cameron entered. Hayes' lips thinned as he saw what was in front of them. I had the sudden urge to cry.
Avoiding eye contact with Hayes, I pushed past Cameron before walking up the stairs while a pair of eyes burned into me.

I'm (Sort of) an Expert on Ghosts
Tsunoda Naoki is a ghost expert! Maybe. Okay, not really. He just pretends to be one, scraping a living by putting the easily-spooked at ease. But his luck seems to run out when he's suddenly got a real ghost to deal with. He can't even see this spirit, let alone exorcise her—and to complicate matters further she apparently seems to like Naoki… a lot. Is this ghost hunt a romantic comedy or a tragic horror? Dorothea Atlin is the young, apathetic leader of the neutral territory of Sirpo, a chilly land hovering above the continuously warring factions of Sacer and Ghuria, whose devastating magics have ravaged their people and lands time and time again. Following a shocking attack and a cruel deception, Dorothea grows her conscience and takes up arms, using her self-destructive ability to manipulate the flow of time to ensure Sacer’s victory. Her growing understanding of war and the two factions is guided by Iree Nobelis, the determined and enthralling commander of Sacer’s forces, Ariana Kingfisher, a steely swordswoman of mixed Ghurian and Sacerian descent, and Rhys Tamlin, a kind but haunted soldier who goes to challenge Dorothea’s self-imposed celibacy and join her on a mutual journey of healing from the tragic legacies of the Atlin family and wars between the nations. Meanwhile, Dorothea’s only friend and deserter from the Sacerian military, Shark Olyen, returns to their homeland to face the family that disowned them and finds more than they bargained for in meeting Cerid Creed, a noble whose duty to his people clashes with his desires in romance and in life, much like Shark’s did long before. As their developing or preexisting loves and differing convictions on how to achieve peace create rifts between these major players, Dorothea experiences a personal revolution that leads her to fight for what she believes is right, no matter the cost. A slow-burn story that takes time setting up the psychology and motivations of characters for explosive payoff later down the line. Cover by Ben Arisson, who is also a wonderful author on this website!

He was coming close and close. I tried to move rightwards but due to my attire and jewellery i feel i was not fast enough and i felt his left hand encircling around my waist. With his touch i felt a sensation in my entire body going through my spinal cord and my heartbeat it had no boundaries. I closed my eyes tightly and kept my face down and trying to get out of his hold. I was looking like a petite frame under his hold with my small height in comparison to his beastly size. I was not wearing any heels right now and barely reached upto his shoulders. I was not able to understand what he was trying to do but i didn't dare to open my eyes.I felt his another hand on my chin and he lifted my face."Leave me" i said nervously and was not able to bear this much of our proximity."First open your eyes" he said tightening his grip on my waist. He is 28 and she is 23.Anirudh and Sona totally opposite souls are bound together.Let's see what destiny has stored for them.#SOHANIImpressive rankings.#1 out of 12.9k in motivation October 2021#1 out of 12.9k in motivation April May 2022#1 out of 104k in betrayal June 2022
