", love." Grace said from the phone. I eyed Hayes, seeing as he talked to the store manager of the shoe store.

"Hey, hun. I think Hayes is in trouble?" I mumbled unsure, turning away from them. I nodded at the middle aged woman who watched, irritated at her staring.

"What happened?" she asked, hearing the sound of keys on the other line. Sighing, I lurked off to the side, "He had a basketball and he accidentally knocked down the flat screen TV in the shoe store."

"Oh. Oh." she said, "So what's happening, right now?"

"The store manager is talking to him, and Hayes isn't making it any better." I murmered, rolling mg eyes as Hayes made a joke.

"Need a ride?" she asked. I ran a hand through my hair, worrying at my lip. "I think I'll be okay."

"Oh, well call me if you need anything."

"I will, bye." I ended the call, switching my phone off before slipping it back in my back pocket. I walked over to Hayes who was waiting.

"Well?" I arched a brow. He sighed, "Don't give me that look."

"What look?" I played innocent, glancing over at the shattered TV.

"I'm being fucking charged of destruction of property." he scrunched up his face, shaking his head. "I only knocked down a TV."

"Only?" Hayed flicked my nose at my question. Rolling my eyes, I walked up to the manager. "How long will he be here?"

"As long as he needs to be." he shrugged, and I heaved a sigh. "Oh really, Captain Obvious?" I turned on my heal, stopping at Hayes.

"Sorry." he frowned causing me to only shake my head before leaning against the counter.

The manager walked up to us after Hayes' attempts of apologizing, "Hayes, right?"

"Yeah." he snapped, causing me to pinch his side. Hayes gripped the hand I harmed him with.

"Well, your brother, Nash," he cleared his throat, "payed for the damages, so calling in someone to take a look will not be nessacary."

Hayes only rolled his eyes, "Thanks, sir."

Pulling away from Hayes, I started towards the door. A boy stopped me in my tracks, my eyes snapping up to the brunette. His green eyes lightened as he smiled. He has dimples, I sighed thoughtfully.

"Hey, I'm Kade." he nodded down at me.

I nervously rocked back and forth on my heels, "Malaya."

Looking up, he winked, "Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Blushing, I looked down at my shoes.

"Could I possibly have your num-"

"Hey, Mal, ready to go?" Hayes towered over the guy with a glare. I bit my lip, rolling my eyes.

"C'mon, Hayes." I murmured, pushing the door open to leave. Sighing, I shook my head Hayes' behavior. The boy was just being nice, why would Hayes care anyways?

Hayes glanced at me when he got into the car, "He was a douche."

"How would you know?" I snapped, surprising myself at how absurd I was to be this mad at him.

"You were too busy looking at your damn shoes while he checked you out." Hayes replied with a sigh. I looked out the window, pressing my lips into a line.

The whole ride he was quiet while I snuck glances at him, only noticing his white knuckles against the steering wheel. "Are we good?" I asked, quoting him from earlier.

I saw the twitch off his lips as he stopped at a reduce light, "I guess, are we?"

Rolling my eyes, I turned to the window. "Yeah."
