malaya;
"These are the rules, girls." my mom eyed both of us. Still not believing that she agreed to let us be with boys for a month, I rolled my eyes. There must be a catch. "Number one, y-"
"How many rules are there?" Maya, seriously? She's already on edge about this.
She proceeded, not answering Maya's question. "Number one, you both can not be out past 1:00. Number two, no drugs, obviously. Number three, use protection." That time she eyed Maya longingly, glancing at me for a second, a trying not to laugh, "Number four, Mal, don't get drunk. I'm serious, drinking is only for the idiots. Number five, 5,000 limit of money used on your bank accounts."
"Um...we both don't have a bank account." I eyed her questioningly.
"You've had them for years. For college." she told us.
"Are those all the rules?" Maya asked.
"Yes, also, Hayes and Nash are incredible boys, I doubt you won't have any problems with protection with them there. Oh, I almost forgot, where is this place you're staying at?"
"Um...Nash said somewhere in Florida, but I don't know where exactly we're staying in." Maya told mom.
"Oh, well okay. Three more days then. Shopping is mandatory." she winked, heading into the kitchen.
"Yay! Shopping! Mally, let's go!" Maya squealed automatically at the words. Covering my ears, I sighed.
"I guess I could go sh-"
"Yay!" Yep, I'm going to kill her.

"Where are we going?" I asked, eyeing the familiar houses.
"Well....Nash is coming. Have to pick him up." she smiled sheepishly.
"I'm not going in." I crossed my arms over my chest, stubbornly. Maya laughed, causing me to look at her confused.

"Oh, yes, you are. Even if I have to drag you in there, you'll go." she nodded, giving me the look that said, 'no arguing.'
"I ca-"
"You can and you will. At least say thank you to Nash for letting us come along. Oh, and Elizabeth misses you like crazy. It will only be the respectful and nice thing to do." Maya nodded.
"Fine, Mom." I muttered sarcastically, climbing out of the Jeep. She walked in front of me into the house. I, of course, acted like a child, stomping and glaring at every little thing in my way. Yelling was heard from the door when we walked in. I started making my way towards it.
"C'mon, it's Mal." I stopped walking, curious on why they were talking about me.
"I don't want Mal to come, she's a bitch. She ruined me and Jax's relationship. She ignored me because she was jealous of Jax! It's all her fucking fault! Everything is!" I stopped listening, the tears beginning to fill my eyes. I watched Maya storm into the living room, a loud smack heard.
"Why don't you run back to Jax then, Hayes? All your good for is breaking people these days. Think before your speak because your best friend, my little sister, listened to all of it." I ran out to the car, slamming the door behind me. Is this what it feels like to be really heartbroken? If it is, it feels like hell it's self.

"What about this? It would look so cute on you." Maya held up the tank top, shaking the piece of fabric in front of my frowning face. I shook my head for the hundredth time today.
"I was thinking last night, and I don't think I wanna go on th-"

"Don't let that asshole cause you to have second thoughts about going. He's not worth it, sis." she embraced me, rubbing my back in a comforting manner.
"I just shouldn't go. I'm not apart of MagCon, I don't belong there." I mumbled.
"Bullshit! The guys love you last time I heard. You've been to like ten of the shows. And not with the fans, on the stage. You do belong there. And anyways, I can't go if you don't." I let out a laugh at the little speech.
"I don't feel like shopping though. I can just go in Florida." I shrugged nonchalantly.
"Bitch, we're shopping, like now. So, no backing out of this." she flicked my ear.
I groaned and she squealed at a top. This is going to be a long day.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
