i open the small bag carefully removing the tissue paper. inside the gift bag is a small black box. i pull it out and open it. inside surrounded in the smooth red interior. is a beautiful ring. it has a silver band, and a mix of sapphire and diamonds in the shape of a heart. i look over to him. " awe this is beautiful, i love it thank you" i say cheerfully. but it didnt click into me exactly what was going on till i put it on my ring finger..... is this an engagement ring...... tears flow my eyes again, my heart burns. my body shakes as he pulls me closer. in a voice smug my smooth as mike " what do ya say kid? wanna get hitched?" i laugh at his idiotic remark. leave it to him to rune a moment. " yes ill marry you, you idiot". he pulls me close and we lay there me awing and looking at my ring and him just looking at me, probably thinking that hes marrying a literal child.

the next couple days i spent it with jason. half crying and half being exited over our engagement. now to think about it, where not even done high school, and where set to marry.

the funeral was a blur. my dad didnt come he was working, yeah working on his own wifes funeral. and my older brother only said one thing to me " dont trust the ones closest to you". i cant tell who hes talking about, my boyfriend or our dad.
