he rocks me back in forth in a cradling motion. i lean into his chest to try to anchor the beating of my head. he kisses my fore head and drys my tears. "im sorry this happend on our anniversary" i say pushing the lump out of my throat. "dont be sorry, its not your fault theirs no way you could have changed it" jason almost hums,his voice warm and caring. he leans over to his bag in the other side of the couch, he pulls out a card and a gift bag. "i know its a probally bad time but i wanna give you your annavisary gift. i smile as wide as i can. he hands me the card first and i begin to read.
