《May I Have This Dance // DNF》two

I didn't like balls that my parents threw, especially when I'm forced to marry someone.
My maid was getting me ready by making sure my coat looked good and that there were no imperfections. Nick was sitting on a chair watching me getting ready.
"So are you ready to meet the lady of your dreams?"
"I guess," I adjust my coat.
"What do you mean I guess?" Nick stands besides me. "Look at you, you look so handsome and I know the ladies will be all over you." I give a smile, he pats my back. "I'll see you soon." He leaves and I take a breath.
This is really happening.
I get ready for my entrance and I was a little bit nervous, my dad put his hand on my shoulder and it calmed me down a bit. I look down at the people drinking and talking to each other, some were dancing with other suitors. I start to walk down the stairs as my name was introduced, people looked up at me and clapped for my entrance.
I walk around and my first girl came up to me, she had long brown hair and hazel eyes, her dress was a dark red and she took a bow.
"Hello sir George, I'm princess Willow." She holds out her hand and I grab it lightly and kiss if the top of it.
"It's very lovely to meet you Willow,"
"I just have to say your ball is very splendid."
"Why thank you, miss Willow. It was very lovely to meet you."
I talk to a few other girls and then I made my way to Nick and he's talking to a tall blonde male.
"Speaking of the devil, here he is. This is George." I bow then put out my hand.

"Very nice to meet you, sir. Who are you exactly?"
"I'm Dream," He shakes my hand. So this is the guy that Wilbur was talking about.
"It's great to finally meet you, I've heard a lot about you."
"I've heard a lot about you too,"
"Im glad you came so that I can finally meet you." Nick leaves to probably get a drink.
"Feeling is mutual. Which ones have you met so far?"
"The one in the dark red dress and that group over there." I say pointing out the girls.
"I see, the one in the red dress, she's the sweetest thing ever. I suggest marrying her."
"Ha, marrying." I laugh.
"What's so funny?"
"Oh, nothing. Just think me marrying someone is a strange scheme my family is planning to benefit them more than me."
"That sounds very, strange."
"My family is strange." We look out and I notice that people are starting to get ready for a bit of a slow dance. Dream nudges me, I look at him and he holds out his hand.
"May I have this dance?"
"Are you sure?"
"100 percent sure." I grab his hand and he walks me out to the dance floor. We kept getting strange looks, but I knew Dream is doing this to joke around. He grabs my hand and wraps his arm around my torso, he pulls me closer to his body and my heart starts to race.
I feel my crown starting to fall off and Dream fixes it with a smug look on his face. I scrunch my nose at him, and he helps me stand up straighter.
"Have you never danced before?" His voice made a chill trail down my back.

"I've never lead in a dance,"
"Then I can do that." He starts to move and I tried my best to move with him. He moves so effortlessly, while I'm struggling to stand up on my own two feet.
His green eyes get lost into mine. His tan skin compliments his dirty blonde hair really well. He has freckles sprinkled in his face really evenly, of course it all fit together really well.
We finish up dancing, we bow then get a drink. I continue to talk to Dream and Nick.
"I apologize for interrupting your conversation, gentlemen." My mother says with a smile. "I just need to discuss with George for a quick second." My mother wraps her arm around mine, and she held on tight and I knew I was in trouble for something. She brought me upstairs and we went into the closest room.
"George you cannot communicate with someone like that."
"Who's someone like that?"
"Someone like Dream."
"What's wrong with him? He's actually really nice."
"He has a bad reputation, George. If any of the girls father's see you hanging around him. They'll not want to be with you."
"That's fine by me." I start to walk away and she grabs my arm and pulls me back.
"This is your last chance, George. Don't test me." I yank my arm back and walk back down to the ball.
I adjust my jacket and go back to Nick.
"What was that about?"
"It's nothing,"
"Are you sure, you look pretty shaken up."
"It's fine, really."
"I see," He hands me another cup of champagne. I look over and see Dream walks over and I look over to see my mother glaring at me. I ignore her and continue to talk to Dream and Nick.
---
The ball ended and we thanked everyone for coming and the night soon came to a close. My parents kept talking about which girls they liked for me, but I could only thinks about Dream.
"What about Willow? She's very polite and kind, she would be a great wife."
"Yeah, totally," I say uninterested.
"George this is serious."
"I know, I'm listening." She sighed and walked out of my room. She's mad at me.
I look outside and see that it quiet and still.
I'm starting to realize that I miss him.

Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends
In the civilized world of humans, 'monsters' have all but passed into legend. But when something goes bump in the night, when people begin to disappear, when a dark mystery begins to haunt even the most peaceful villages, there is only one organization to turn to: the Hunters. The Venatori. Having lived a life of discipline and service, former soldier Caiden Voros finds something even worse than the wars of humans: the monsters that hunt them. Horrors yet unknown even to him and his many scars await in the claws, talons, fangs, and mysterious powers of creatures so far beyond humans that he must dedicate himself entirely to the art of slaying them. Harboring a secret of his own and in a constant struggle to find answers while maintaining his sanity, however, Caiden begins to ask the age-old question... Who is truly worse, the monsters or the Men? Wulfgard: The Hunt Never Ends is an episodic collection of stories, each of which stand on its own, but they also build upon each other in a consecutive order, bridging a gap between a novel and short story collection. These stories follow monster hunter Caiden Voros and his partner Gwen Vergil as they embark on tales of mystery, horror, and adventure to track down monsters - the living dead, beast-men, shape-shifters, spirits, and many more - that would do harm to innocent lives and, by whatever means necessary, put a stop to their terrors. Their motives, however, are not always what they seem.
