《I should care because?》Bait

A cool breeze brought in the scent of pine trees, along with the sunlight that rained down from the open window. The sound of concealed anger and the murderous aura had already scared away most birds, insects and other animals from the surrounding area.

"Didn't I say that one more time will cost you your trip home?" Keme asked, irritated.

"Lighten up will you? You should remember what's it's like being human once and a while," Shui Yu responded in a cheery voice, fully ignoring the other's anger.

"Heh, why should I remember things like that? Tell me, should a cat remember how to be a dog just because they were on in their past life?"

"But you're not a cat, and I don't see why you gods are always so against feeling human."

"And I don't understand why you're so insistent on making us feel 'human'."

"If I don't remind you how it's like to be human, you'll keep looking down on us. Truly, you guys were once human too, you know? Besides, those that forget how it's like to be human disregard all life."

"So what? It's only you humans that think of things like this really. Why do you think I look down on them? Their all hypocrites really, and to gods they are exactly like ants. Why? Because you guys act like one, except ants don't destroy the world they live in."

"Ants?" Shui Yu asked, confused. He didn't think he's heard of this word before.

"....." Ah, why did it feel like they were speaking different languages?

"Nevermind that, but remember this. Just because us gods look like humans, doesn't mean that we are. Stop trying to make us something we're not." With that, Keme dramatically stood up, with the chair scrapping the floor and his amber eyes staring dead straight at Shui Yu who maintained his calm smile.

Really, talking to someone that looks like he's going to scam you doesn't help settle his feelings in anyway. If Shui Yu just stopped smiling, maybe they could actually debate calmly. It also didn't help that smiling that long made you look like a murderer, so much for that 'humane' talk and stuff.

Upon entering the room where Silence was located at, the scene that greeted Keme could be considered very cute. At least in his eyes.

Silence was curled up on the bed, her hair gleaming in the sunlight that rained on the window. Her gaze seeming to be made up of killing intent and laziness. The things that happened last night was enough to give her nightmares for weeks on end.

Though, storing it away for thousands of years made it feel as though it were someone else's life and not hers. Perhaps she was just being stubborn at this point in time, but she really couldn't bring herself to forgive....

"How do you feel?" Keme asked in a lowered voice, sitting at the foot of the bed.

The only response he got was Silence shifting to her other side, now it was the right side of her body's turn to feel smushed. Like this, they stayed in silence for a few minutes, neither willing to break it.

"Last night....just say that it's Shui Yu's special ability. An ability that even he can't fully comprehend."

"Mmn."

"It seems you've gotten lazier," Keme said chuckling before frowning.

"I'm guessing you already know that they've used you as bait?" he asked, shifting himself to look at her.

Silence then rolled over so that she was facing him and asked, "when?"
