Madison woke up in a silent house.

Her neck and back hurt from sleeping on the couch, but she stood anyway. For a moment, she forgot what was going on, walking into her bathroom to pee. She didn't remember until she saw his damn shampoo in her shower.

She sighed, got ready for the day, and returned to the living room. She had work to do, and a lot of it, but she knew if she went to her computer there he would be, sitting at his damn desk, not talking to her.

She checked all of her social media, falling down the rabbit hole of hate comments for a few minutes before deciding she would take back control. It was her apartment, and she had a job to do. She had bills to pay, videos to film, and emails to answer, and she wouldn't let a boy control her future.

He didn't turn his head when she walked in the room.

Madison got to work quickly, pretending he wasn't there. At this point, it was easier that way. I mean, it wasn't like he had talked to her much in the past week anyway. She already felt single before it had even happened.

They went through the whole day in silence.

When dinner time did come around, Madison considered asking him what he wanted, but was too stubborn. She was pissed, and talking to him at all just didn't seem like a good idea.

How long could this go on? How long could she just let him live in her apartment without speaking?

"What's for dinner?" Corpse asked, his voice deeper than normal from not speaking for so long. It cut through the silence and made Madison want to punch him.

"Whatever you want to make for yourself," she replied, keeping her eyes on her computer screen and still typing her email. It could everything in her not to look at him and ask why he was going this to her. Why he had suddenly cut her out of his life just enough to make it unbearable. What was the point? Did he have it planned from the beginning?

She heard him huff. He stood, pushing his chair back harshly making it tip over. The loud sound made her jump. She turned around in her chair, starring at him. "Don't break my shit," she said, voice cold.

"Whatever, Madison," Corpse rolled his eyes at her and left the room.

It took everything in her not to cry. She held it together, mostly due to her anger and adrenaline. She followed him out of the room.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Nothing."

"Oh really? You're acting like a child Corpse."

"Okay, and?"

Madison had stayed calm for long enough. He was being ridiculous, and at this point she was over it. "Corpse, if you want to leave, do it. You're not going to stay in my apartment while also treating me like shit. You're being an asshole for no fucking reason and I didn't sign up for that shit."

Corpse turned towards her, eyes narrowed. "I didn't sign up for you, but here we are."

Madison furrowed her eyebrows, "what do you mean?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"I. Didn't. Fucking. Sign. Up. For. This. You're the one that reached out to me, you showed up to my apartment like a psychopath, you initiated us meeting in real life. You did all of that shit, Madison and now you're seeing how I actually am as a person, and there's a fucking problem?"

Madison's eyes were tearing up with every word. She didn't handle getting yelled at very well, but she also didn't believe what he was saying. He loved her. It was a mutual relationship.. right?

"Corpse, you're just mad. You don't mean-"

"No, I do fucking mean it! I didn't want this shit, I just didn't want to hurt your fucking feelings. You know how embarrassing it would've been if you told me you loved me and I didn't say it back? Like, you cornered me."

He was aware that he sounded crazy. But it was the only way he could do this without it hurting so bad. She needed to hate him. She needed to forget he existed.

"I don't fucking love you, I don't even know what love really is."

Well, he said it now. He watched as Madison cried, staring at the ground. Her body was impulsively closing in on itself, like she was trying to protect herself from the words coming from his mouth. He wanted to hug her, tell her he was lying, that he loved her more than anything in the world.

But it was too late. She would never forgive him. She would never trust him. Nothing would get better from here.

He would die alone, and she would find a new man who would love her completely and unconditionally. It was the way it should be.

"Get out," she sobbed, unable to look up at him. She was whimpering, her heart feeling like it breaking into pieces. She was having a panic attack, and he caused it.

"I said, GET OUT!" she sobbed, pointing to the door.

Corpse was nearly to tears himself, watching her cry over him.

He shut his eyes tightly when he felt them well up with tears, forcing the feelings back down. He clenched his jaw, forcing himself to finish this.

"Whatever."

And he walked out the door.
