After two weeks, Madison finally went home. It was hard the first few days, but the pair had committed to facetiming nightly to make it somewhat bearable. They still hadn't talked about their relationship, and the less she knew about their status, the more anxious Madison became about it. She tried to ignore it a lot of the time, not wanting to be told something she didn't necessarily want to hear.
Madison was invited to a party at the OTV house. It was incredibly small, really only their close group of friends being invited instead of everyone like last time.
She did her makeup, and packed an overnight bag in case she ended up going home with Rae like she normally did.
"Hey!"
"You called me, love."
"Yeah, why, what's up?"
"You're going?"
"Of course it's okay! Wanna have
a sleepover at mine after?"
"Sounds good, baby.
Ill see you soon."
Madison couldn't respond before he had already hung up the phone. She was shocked, and honestly felt like she couldn't breathe. He just said he loved her. She tried to be rational, thinking maybe he was just taking fast, and maybe it was an accident, like sometimes she called her teachers mom in high school accidentally. It wouldn't leave her mind, though, his voice ringing in her ears.
She tried to distract herself by cleaning her room, and unpacking her bag, knowing now they would be coming back to her apartment. She changed the sheets and made sure her bathroom was clean, humming songs to get her head to focus on something other than Corpse.
As she was finishing up, Corpse sent her a text, saying he was here. He still hadn't been inside her apartment complex before, so he couldn't come into the building himself. She tried to take deep breaths as she rode the elevator down, and saw Corpse smiling at her from the driver seat of his car. She got in quickly, hearing the radio playing one of his playlists softly.

"Hey!" he greeted. Madison gave him a tight smile, turning her head to the window. She was scared if she looked at him, she wouldn't be able to compose herself.
"Is everything okay, baby?" Corpse asked, placing one of his hands on her thigh. She instinctively played with his fingers as his thumb rubbed against her bare skin.
"Yeah, bub. I'm all good," she said quietly, and sighed. Madison had a feeling he just loved her as a friend, and maybe that's what he meant, just like she had when she told him months ago when she was drunk. Maybe it was like that, but Madison wasn't ready to hear that. She wanted something more with him, she just was too scared to ask.
Corpse hummed in response, still worried about her, but ignoring it.
They pulled up to the house, and there were a few cars outside already. Somehow, no matter how early they got ready, they were always the last ones to arrive. Corpse put on a mask, trying to preserve some of his privacy in a large group of people, most of which had never met him in person.
Madison, although she was freaking out over the "love you" situation, tried her best to soothe him as much as she could. She kept his hand in hers, squeezing tightly to make sure he knew she was still paying attention to him while she greeted her friends.
Thankfully, no one brought too much attention to him being there, or to Madison holding his hand.
They hung out for awhile, just talking while drinking red solo cups full of a mixed liquor drink. Madison tried to control herself this time, since she knew they would have to find their ways back to her apartment. She let Corpse drink more than she was, reassuring him that she would drive home tonight, and she knew being somewhat intoxicated was soothing his social anxiety. Someone eventually suggested playing drinking games, only fueling Corpse's drinking more. By the end of the night, he was properly hammered. Thankfully, he wasn't a sloppy drunk; he actually handled it better than Madison would've guessed. Nearing midnight, Madison decided to call it a night, having Scarra help get Corpse to the car. He wasn't fighting them, just repeating this own song lyrics over and over again, a habit started by Rae when they were playing beer pong.

Corpse was clingy while Madison drove his car home. He kept trying to lay his head in her lap, even with the steering wheel in the way. She played his own songs to distract him, laughing as he screamed the lyrics at the top of his lungs. She knew he would regret it in the morning, but she didn't want to burst his bubble of fun. This was his first time drunk, in a long time.
Corpse was able to shower himself while Madison searched through his bags to find clothes for him. He had brought a duffle full of clothes, and Madison knew he probably expected to be here for a few days. She found a neatly organized pill bag, full of his medication. She took out the ones he was supposed to take nightly for him, along with pain killers for his headache he was bound to have. In the side pocket, where she was expecting to find a toothbrush, she found an entire sleeve of condoms.
"Heyyyy, baby!" Corpse slurred. He had exited her bathroom wearing only a towel, his eyes nearly closed because of how drowsy he had become. His hair was wet and sloppy, but she couldn't tear her eyes away from his chest. He was so damn attractive. At the realization that he was naked, Madison tore her gaze away, throwing underwear, sweatpants, and a t-shirt to him.
"Go change, bub, then bed time," she couldn't help but treat him like a child. He was cute when he was careless, but she felt bad for wishing he was always like this. She liked him either way.
She chose to ignore the condoms for now. Maybe he had them from a trip before or something, she didn't know, but she couldn't bring herself to care. She was more focused on the fact that she was eventually going to have to talk to Corpse about their relationship.
Madison helped him dry his hair with the towel, laughing as he shook his head against her hands instead of doing it himself. She forced him to take his medicine, and drink an entire bottle of water before he went to sleep.
—
Corpse hadn't woken up with a headache, but his throat was burning. He tried not to wake up Madison as he got out of her bed, going to the kitchen for water. He knew he should've tried to keep it under control, but it was hard to have fun and worry about health conditions at the same time. He kept drinking water, that seeming to be the only thing helping his throat.
It was only 7:30, and he didn't expect Madison to be awake anytime soon, so he opted for playing on his phone in the living room. He liked fans tweets, and checked all of his other social media's until he heard commotion from down the hall.
"Corpse?" he heard Madison softly say. Her voice sounded so sad, and he felt awful for leaving her sleeping alone. He couldn't talk yet, so he went to go find her.
"Bub? Did you leave?"
He nearly wanted to cry, she seemed so lost, slowly coming down the hall. Corpse met her half way, picking her up gently, her legs wrapped around him tightly. Madison still had sleep filled eyes, keeping her head buried into his shoulder. Neither of them spoke, mostly because Corpse couldn't, as Corpse laid down on the couch with her. They cuddled for awhile there, Madison falling in and out of sleep. Around 9, she finally started to fully wake up, and Corpse's throat didn't feel so bad anymore.
"Good morning," his voice was so deep it made Madison want to melt.
"God, you're so sexy in the morning," she complimented, kissing his chest.
"Thank you," he smiled down at her, kissing her forehead.
Madison sighed deeply and looked down, away from his eyes.
"What's wrong?" Corpse asked.
"We... we should talk about us, I think."
I LOVE YOU ALL DEARLY!
