Sasha Waybright, the same person who tore my friendship with Anne apart, is here in Wartwood. The toads started to invade the village. "Sasha, the toads, we gotta go help the..." "Chill out, guys." Sasha explained. "They're with me." "Wait, what?" I asked. The Plantar's ran over to us in fear. "Guys, guys, guys, toads, they're everywhere!" Sprig exclaimed. "We barely slipped out when the guards were..." "Holy toad, another Anne and Rowena!" Polly shouts. "Guys, meet my bestie from back home, Sasha." Anne introduced. "Hey." Sasha greeted. "Sasha, these are the Plantar's, this is Hop Pop, Sprig, and Polly." "Hey, I'm their bestie too, I guess that makes me your bestie-in-law." Sprig said. "Does it?" Sasha asked. Sprig was embarrassed. "Did y'all feel that?" Sprig asked. "Walk it off, boy." Hop Pop said. "Yes, hi, nice to meet you, now can someone please tell me why there's a toad army invading Wartwood?" "You're Hop Pop, I thought you were taller." Sasha replied. "Relax, we're not invading anything, c'mon, Anne, you too Warbler, frogs, we don't wanna keep Grime waiting." "Captain Grime?" Hop Pop gasped. "The cruelest toad soldier of all time?" Sprig added. "Nah, he's not so bad once you get to know him." Sasha explains. "C'mon, nerds." "She's persuasive, right?" Anne asked. No kidding.
Back at the party, Grime had an announcement to make. "Frogs of Wartwood!" He announced. "We toads have come here to...invite you to a banquet!" "The moment we heard that Anne and Rowena were here, we rushed over to reunite these three friends and hold a celebration." Sasha hugged Anne and pulled me in too. The crowd was excited about the reunion, but Hop Pop wasn't convinced. When Sasha mentioned Grime for the first time, he looked frightened. I don't blame him. If Hop Pop doesn't trust Grime and I don't trust Sasha, the thought of them teaming up isn't good. "Really?" Hop Pop asked. "Yes, despite my rough exterior, I really am just an old softy." Grime explains. "So what do you say, Wartwood, you ready to party back at the tower?" Sasha asked. "What do the girls think?" Mrs Croaker asked. "Sasha's been my friend since kindergarten, if she says it's fine, it's fine." Anne replied. "All aboard the party barge!" Sasha exclaimed.
Sasha got the frogs to board a barge to this "party" she was talking about. "Anne, Warbler, you're with me." Sasha whispered as she showed off this coach to us. "Wow, cool!" Anne exclaimed. "Hey, do you mind if the Plantar's come along too?" I added. "Of course I don't mind." Sasha replied. "The more the merrier." They ran into the coach with me behind them.
We arrived at the tower a few minutes later. "Well, here we are." Sasha announced. "Ominous." Anne commented. "Oh, Percy!" Sasha called. "Yes, commander?" Percy asked. "I'm gonna give Anne and Rowena a quick tour." Sasha ordered. "Escort these frogs to the banquet hall." "Hey, I wanna go too!" Sprig and Polly exclaimed. "C'mon, kids, give Anne, Rowena, and their friend a chance to catch up." Hop Pop said. "Actually, I think I'm gonna stay with the Plantar's." I said. "Are you sure?" Anne asked. I nodded. "Okay, I'll find you guys later, go have fun in there." "We'll try." Sprig groaned as we walked into the hall.

All the frogs were gathered in the banquet hall for their party. I was standing by Hop Pop, who was collecting crab legs to eat. Sprig looked suspicious. "Uh, hey, Hop Pop, hey, Rowena." Sprig greeted. "Something's not right here." "Not right, yeah, sure." Hop Pop replied without listening to his grandson. "Here, kids, load up on crab legs, these babies go fast." "Hop Pop, I'm with Sprig on this one, the toads seem a little on edge." I added. "They're a militarized culture, Rowena, I'm not surprised they don't know how to let loose." "Forget this, I'm gonna go find Anne." Sprig grunted. "Right behind you, buddy." I added. "Good idea, she can carry more crab legs." Hop Pop said. We walked over to one of the guards to leave. "Hey, pal, we're just gonna go for a walk, get some fresh air..." Sprig explains. "No, sorry you frogs aren't allowed to leave this room." The guard interrupted. "We're not allowed to leave, why's that?" Sprig asked. "And I'm not even a frog, so why can't I go?" I added. "Uh, I've said too much, both of you please just return to the party and remain calm." He replied. "Remain calm, you got it, buddy." I said as me and Sprig walked away. Sprig stands on top of a table and gives the guard a thumbs up and he did the same. "Hey, everyone, this is a sham, we're not guests, we're prisoners!" Sprig exclaimed as the frogs began to panic and rioting in the hall.
"Ooh, I wanna riot too!" Polly shouts, grabbing a crab leg. "Polly, don't throw that!" Hop Pop snapped. "Throw this potato instead." The other frogs threw dishes at the toads, when suddenly, someone in a cloak came in. "Enough!" She ordered. "Guards, leave us, I'll get these frogs to fall in line." The guards left us alone. I laughed after they left. "Nice job, Anne." I laughed. Anne took off her hood. "How'd you know it was me?" Anne asked. "Come on, you've been pretending to be Sasha for as long as I can remember." I explained. "Anne!" Sprig exclaimed. "Boy, are we glad to see you!" "We've got a situation, the frogs aren't guests, they're..." "Prisoners, I know." Anne interrupted me. "And it's worse than that, they're planning to execute Hop Pop!" "Say what?" Hop Pop gasped. "But why?" I asked. "Turns out Hop Pop's been inspiring rebellions all across the valley." Anne explains as she reveals Hop Pop's mayoral election poster. "Well, it's a good-looking poster, though." Hop Pop said. "I'm gonna die!" "Don't worry, youngster, we won't let them get to you." Mrs Croaker replied. "So, what do we do?" Felicia asked. "Nobody panic." I said. "We're gonna bust you out of here, somehow, anybody got any ideas?" "I've got one." Wally suggested. "What say we plant these boom shrooms around the joint, blow the place sky high?" "With us still inside?" Anne asked. "We're not doing that." "Right, we're not doing that."Wally replied. "Didn't Sasha give you a tour of the tower?" I asked. "Yeah, but the toads are guarding the door." Anne replied. Suddenly, a really bad stench was filling the banquet hall. "Wait a minute, the sewers!" I exclaimed. "Yuck, really?" Felicia asked. "Deal with it, lady!" Polly shouts. "It's time to get dirty."

We walked into the sewers for our escape. We faced many creatures down there. After walking for probably two miles, we finally found an opening. "Finally, I think we made it!" Anne gasped. "Fresh air!" All of a sudden, Anne was surrounded by weapons. "Boy, those toads really stink." Sprig said. "I know, right?" I replied as the toad army was surrounding us. "Did I say stink, I meant very, very, handsome." Sprig lied. "Anne, Anne, Anne, very disappointing." Sasha sighed. "Now let's move, Grime's waiting for us."
Sasha and the toad army brought us to Grime at the top of the tower. "Caught these prisoners trying to escape, Grime." Sasha explains. "Dude, are you crazy?" Anne asked. "Shh, I'm trying to get us home." Sasha shushed. "Don't talk to her like that!" I snapped. "Quiet, Warbler!" Sasha yelled. "Very impressive, Sasha, always playing Flipwart when everyone else is playing Bog Jump." Grime complimented. Anne, Sasha, and I were confused. "I'm trying to say you're smart!" "Oh, thanks, Grime-sy." Sasha thanked. "What can I say, just how I do, up top." Grime gave Sasha a high five. "Sasha, please, there's gotta be another way." Anne begged. "There is no other way, creature." Grime explains. "Our very way of life is at stake, I don't expect an outsider like you to understand, seize the traitor, Hopediah Plantar!" The guards grabbed Hop Pop and pushed away Sprig and Polly. "No!" We shouted as we each grabbed one of the soldiers swords. "Stay back!" I yelled. "Enough!" Sasha shouted. "Anne, what are you doing, are you and Warbler really gonna risk your lives for these talking frogs, we don't even belong here, don't you wanna get back home, see your families?" "Yeah, but..." Anne replied. "Then put your sword down, NOW, End, of, discussion!" Anne frowns and puts her sword down. This wasn't the Anne Boonchuy I knew. "There we go, that's my girl." Sasha said. "There, now that wasn't so hard, was it?" At that moment, Sasha was hit in the face with mud. "What the heck?" Everyone gasped to see Sprig, who was holding his slingshot, which was recently used. "For someone who's Anne's best friend, you sure don't know her very well!" Sprig exclaimed. "She's brave, smart, and most of all, she's not gonna be pushed around by a bully like you!" "I think I've had enough of you, squeaky toy." Sasha groaned as she was about to kill him, but not before I was able to block her shot. "Leave him alone!" I snapped. "He's more of a friend to Anne than you'll ever be!" Sasha gave me a cut on my arm with her sword. "Rowena!" Anne cried. "Now, time to finish them off." Sasha said as Anne used her sword to block her attack. "Anne, what are you doing?" "Something I should've done a long time ago, standing up to you!" Anne replied as she pushed her back. "Thanks for believing in me, guys." "Sprowanne against the world." Sprig and I responded. Grime began to laugh. "What are you laughing at?" Sasha asked. "Looks like you've got a rebellious seed of your own, you've given me plenty of advice, now let me give you some." Grime replied. "Stamp this out, make her yield, fail, and nothing will ever be the same." "Not gonna happen." Sasha grunted. "My friends, instead of a messy free-for-all, I have a splendid idea, how about we settle this the toad-fashioned way, trial by combat!" Grime suggested. "If you're champion wins, you all go home, no harm, no foul, but if our champion wins, baby's hungry." "Anne, you don't have to do this." Hop Pop said. Anne looks at my sliced up arm. "Yes, I do." Anne grunted.
Anne and Sasha were about to duel for Hop Pop's life. "What's gotten into you, Anne, you were never like this back home!" Sasha yelled. "Do you ever stop talking?" Anne asked as she knocked Sasha's sword out of her grasp. But that didn't stop her from grabbing a dagger. She grabbed her sword and fought with both. "They're just slimy, little frogs, and Warbler doesn't deserve friends, that's why I pushed her away in the first place, they don't matter!" Sasha yelled. Anne gasped. "That's the worst frog abuse in the book!" I yelled. "They're not just frogs, they're my friends!" Anne shouted. "And Rowena and I are even closer than before!" Anne knocked away the sword and dagger from Sasha and scraped her face. "It's over, Sash, you're not gonna push me or Rowena around anymore." "So, how about it, big guy, we're free, right?" I asked. "Yeah, I don't think so." Grime replied as he used his tongue to grab Hop Pop. "This ends now!" Suddenly, the tower was beginning to collapse. "Wally, what did you do?" I asked. "What, I thought we agreed, wait, could you not tell I was winking, oh curse you, one eye!" Wally shouted. Is it just me or do I hear Lean on me by Bill Withers? Toads began to fall and Grime let go of Hop Pop. "Everyone, c'mon, get off the roof, quick!" Hop Pop exclaimed. The roof was starting to collapse and Sasha was about to fall. "Anne!" Sasha screamed as she fell. "Sasha!" Anne shouted as she grabbed Sasha's hand. "I've got you, Sash, you've gotta be okay." Anne was barely hanging on, sure, I didn't get along with Sasha, but she deserves to get home just as much as we do. I grabbed onto Anne's legs to help. I wasn't sure how much longer I could hold them. All of a sudden, Sprig grabbed my legs and Hop Pop and Polly did the same. "Everything's gonna be totally fine, just hang on!" Anne shouted. "We got you, girls, no matter what." Hop Pop said. "Uh, guys, I think we have a situation." Polly added. "Hey, Anne, maybe you're better off without me." Sasha whispered as she lets go of Anne's hand, falling to the ground. "No!" Anne cried. Grime jumped out of nowhere to save Sasha, who was now unconscious. Grime and the remaining survivors of the toad army walked away, but I could tell that this would not be the last time we see them. "Anne, are you okay?" Sprig asked. "Oh, yeah, never felt..." Anne cried as we all hugged Anne.
Once we left the tower, we rode back to Wartwood and sat on the fountain. "I know that was hard for you, Anne." I said. "Thank you, girls, for everything." Hop Pop added. "Hop Pop, you guys are our family, we'd never let anyone hurt you." Anne responded. "So, you guys wanna go get breakfast and come up with some plan to get Anne and Rowena home?" Sprig asked. "It's gonna be dangerous, perilous even." Hop Pop replied. "Understatement." Polly added. "Well, whatever happens next, one thing's for sure, if we're together, I know we'll be alright." I said as we all pulled into a hug.
In the basement later that night, Anne was already fast asleep, but I was wide awake still, sure it was a long day, but I most likely wouldn't fall asleep for a while. I grabbed one of my many empty notebooks and a pen from my bag. I was thinking about what to draw, but then I realized, the adventures I'm having with Anne and the Plantar's are some that I never want to forget. I grabbed a sharpie from my bag, and I wrote 'The Calamity Girls' on the cover as I wrote our adventures from the beginning.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com! Falling For A Man Of The City
He stood up momentarily discarding his shirt, eliciting a small moan from me at the sight of his physique. His body would always take my breath away at the black ink and scars littered holding a story of their own. When my eyes moved down past his pectoral muscles to his pants I felt my breath hitch in my throat at the view of his manhood straining against the fabric. If I didn't feel shy with the way he was admiring me, I certainly felt shy when he reached out to remove my underwear. It was the first time I had ever allowed anyone to see a part of my body that I had been taught to guard fiercely so it was only natural that I look away feeling self-conscious. Considering I wasn't making any effort to hide it, he chuckled lightly making me blush when he went further to spread my thighs gently unveiling the secret that I had been yearning for him to see. "You have such a pretty pussy," were the words that came out as more of a growl. Turning to look at him, I found his eyes already watching me causing my chest to constrict in sweet agony, "I'm going to enjoy eating you, my little gazelle," he cooed gently falling to his knees in a prayer like motion. Only this form of prayer was far beyond holy but aimed to please and was sacred in its own way... ***When Aaliyah Winston waltzed into the city of New York in search of a new life, unexpectedly she is thrust into a world. She gains more than she bargained for once she catches the eye of the leader of the Mafia. Drenched in decadence and an allure that has her throwing all caution aside, he proves to be more than meets the eye. As they indulge in an attraction so powerful and addictive surpassing that of any drug it's in their aim for love, when family secrets and lies are exposed. It's quite a risk to allow a man like him into her bed. Yet the true test of whether they'll survive lies if she can accept hands that have been painted in blood holding her heart.
