We were driving to town so Hop Pop could pick up a few things. We saw a sign for Amphibia's got talent. "Amphibia's got talent is coming to Wartwood!" Sprig cheered. "Wait, what is this nonsense?" Hop Pop asked. "We've got the same thing in our world." I explained. "It's a contest where regular people get on stage and try to prove they're special." "That sounds potentially humiliating." Polly replied. "Auditions are being held this weekend!" Sprig cheered. "Hey, could be fun to play my fiddle in front of a crowd." "I don't know, Sprig." Hop Pop said. "One thing's for sure, winning this kind of thing sets you up for a life of success and opportunity." Anne explains. At the same time, I think Hop Pop was daydreaming. "Did Hop Pop just leave us?" "Should we get help?" Sprig asked. "I'll get help." "Hold on, boy, let's give this talent show nonsense a try." Hop Pop suggested. It's a long shot, but with enough dedication and teamwork, I'm sure we can make you a star!" We cheered.

When we returned to the house, Hop Pop was explaining to us about a moth. "The moth, one of nature's most seductive animals." Hop Pop lectured. "Cool." Anne said. "Unless they're a really dark purple color." I added. "Inspired by this majestic creature, I've designed an act for Sprig that wil guarantee we take home first prize." Hop Pop continued. "Anne, you're in charge of costume design and makeup." "I'm thinking cosmic, ethereal, interdimensional." Anne shows a design to Hop Pop. "Polly, you're chief morale officer." Hop Pop explains. "What?" Polly exclaimed. "That's not a real job, why can't I be the star?" "Like I said, morale." Hop Pop replied. "And as for you, Sprig, you have the hardest job of all, you, Rowena, and I will be working on your act together, from dusk to dawn, rain or shine." "Hop Pop, aren't we taking this all just a little too seriously?" Sprig asked. "Sprig, success takes work, it takes dedication, sacrifice, let the hard work begin!" Hop Pop replied.

After many days of practice, Sprig wanted some sleep. I walked into his room. "Hey, buddy." I greeted. "Hey, Rowena." Sprig sighed. "You did a good job today." I complimented. "But you look pretty stressed, so I thought I'd share something with you." I grabbed Sprig's fiddle and played a song from back home. A song that my mom used to play to Rosalina and she did to me. "You play the fiddle?" Sprig asked. "Well, my sister taught me." I replied. "If you want, I can teach you this song." "I'd like that." Sprig smiled as he went to sleep. "Goodnight, Sprig." I whispered.

The next morning, Sprig played the original song for us. "How was that?" Sprig asked. I gave him a thumbs up. "It was amazing, dude." Anne replied. "You're gonna slay, brother." Polly responded. "You call that an act?" Hop Pop complained. "I counted three whole mistakes, Sprig, three!" "I mean, it doesn't have to be perfect, right?" Sprig asked. "It does, if you wanna win!" Hop Pop snapped. "Now go give me 50 laps!" "Hop Pop, this is crazy, I just wanna have fun up there." Sprig retorted. Hop Pop blew his whistle nonstop. "Okay, okay, fine."

A few hours later and it was finally time for Sprig's audition. "Alright gang, this is ours to lose." Hop Pop said. "Sprig, you ready?" "As ready as I'll ever be." Sprig replied. "Then get out there and win!" Hop Pop exclaimed. "Alright, next up is Sprig Plantar." One of the judges announced. "Performing Flight of the moth." Sprig begins to play his fiddle for the audience. And to my surprise, he played my mom's song. "That's not the right song!" Hop Pop exclaimed. The crowd cheered for Sprig. "Wait, they love it." Polly explains. Anne pulled a rope that Sprig was tied to for special effects, until a giant bat captured him, I think it was because he was dressed like a moth. "Sprig!" I shouted. "What do we do?" Anne asked. "What can we do?" Polly replied. Hop Pop saw a lever and had an idea. "Anne, Rowena, get to that judge's table and wait for my signal." Hop Pop ordered. We got to the table and we waited for Hop Pop to give us a signal. "Now!" Anne and I pulled the lever by the table and launched them into the air. Polly sang really loud and the bat dropped all three of them. They destroyed the stage and Hop Pop saw Sprig, probably unconscious. "Grandson, are you okay?" Hop Pop asked. "Oh, I shouldn't have forced you into this, because of me and this stupid act, you were almost digested." "All I wanted to do was have fun, and play my fiddle on stage, that's why I chose the song Rowena played for me last night, she wasn't pushing me!" Sprig snapped. "Why'd you have to push me so hard?" "I just wanted to give you a better life than the one I can give you now." Hop Pop sighed. Sprig was more calm than earlier. "Hop Pop, my life is perfect the way it is, and as long as you're in it, my future will be pretty cool too." Sprig replied as Hop Pop started crying and hugged his grandson. The judges complimented the performance. They asked us if we wanted to join them on tour, but we declined. The Plantar's liked things the way they are now. Besides, they were already determined to get Anne and I back home.
