Since we lost the stand, Hop Pop was still determined to make money and earn the town's trust again. "Now, kids, just cause we lost the family stand, doesn't mean we can't sell our produce out of a janky wheelbarrow." Hop Pop said. "This is pretty sad." Anne stated. "Agreed." Polly added. "Ah, criminal activity, excitement!" Sprig cheered, putting on a ski mask. "Take that off!" Hop Pop snapped. "This is perfectly legal." "Then why are we hiding in an alley?" I asked. "Stop asking questions and follow my lead." Hop Pop ordered as he tapped on a woman to get her attention. "Psst, lady, wanna buy an eggplant?" "Hoppy!" She exclaimed. "Sylvia?" Hop Pop gasped. "Hoppy?" Anne wondered. "Come here, you sweet potato." Sylvia said, pulling Hop Pop into a hug. "I thought you moved away?" Hop Pop asked. "Yup, but I'm back in town." Sylvia replied. "Now, let's take a look at your veggies." Gross! I think I'm gonna be sick! Hop Pop was looking nervous. Sylvia looked at the crops we had and bought a weird looking veggie. "I better be going, goodbye, Hoppy." "Goodbye, Sylvia." Hop Pop stuttered. "Hop Pop, you dawg!" Anne exclaimed. "What's happening?" Sprig asked. "What's going on?" Polly added. "Hop Pop is clearly in love." I explained. "Am not!" Hop Pop argued. "Okay, maybe a little." "Aww, you should tell her how you feel." I suggested. "I wish I could." Hop Pop sighed. "But you saw how I was back there, I have trouble even putting sentences together, I wish there was another way to let Sylvia know how I feel." Hop Pop sees a crowd near the message board. "Kids, watch the wheelbarrow for a second."

We decided to watch Hop Pop, apparently there was this dance coming up, but we also saw another frog messing with him. "Who's that?" I asked. "That's Monroe." Sprig explains. "He and Hop Pop have been rivals forever." "Monroe wins at pretty much everything." Polly added. "Lawn bowling, shuffleboard, other old man activities." All of a sudden, the cops found the wheelbarrow and blew the whistle. "Hop Pop it's the fuzz!" Sprig shouts. "Everyone scatter!"

After we outran the cops, we headed back home. Anne and I were rocking out to her dance playlist in the basement. "Go, Anne!" I exclaimed as she showed me her best moves. "Anne can dance?" I heard a voice ask as Anne kicked off her shoe, turns out Hop Pop was watching her. Hop Pop tumbled down the stairs and onto my bed. "Hop Pop, what the heck, dude?" Anne asked. "I wish I got that on video so I could send it to AFV." I said. "Anne, I need your help." Hop Pop begged.

He brought down a banner for the upcoming dance. "That's why I'm begging ya, teach me your ways!" He begged. "I can't tell Sylvia how I feel, but maybe I can show her by dancing with her." "I never figured you for a hopeless romantic, Hop Pop." Anne replied. "Neither did I, but this is so romantic." I added. "Let's do this thing!" "Hey, do you think we could keep this just between us?" Hop Pop asked. "You got it, HP, our lips are sealed." Anne replied.

Anne and I changed into dancing clothes. Don't ask me how we got extra clothes from back home, I'm not even sure. I ended up telling Sprig and Polly, but Anne didn't even care, she told me she would've done the same thing. "Whoo, dance it up, Hop Pop!" Sprig encouraged. "Shake that booty!" Polly added. "What happened to the zipped lips?" Hop Pop asked. "Couldn't help it, this was just too juicy." I replied. "Besides, when I'm done with you, you and Sylvia will be locking lips by the end of the night." Anne explains. Sprig and Polly groaned in disgust as we started a dance montage.

After the dance montage and a really bad freestyle by Hop Pop, it was time for him to bust a move on the dance floor. We got changed and left. Anne picked out a nice green dress for me and did my hair. "I gotta say, as long as you're not being forced to date someone, dances ain't half bad." Sprig said. "She's here!" Hop Pop gasped. "I feel like I'm gonna faint, can frogs faint?" "Hop Pop, calm down, you are the king of this dance floor." Anne encouraged him. "You walk right up to that lovely lady and ask her to dance." Hop Pop walks up to Sylvia, but Monroe ends up asking her too. "Sylvia, will you do me the honor of this dance?" Monroe asked. Sprig, Anne, Polly, and I all gasped. Hop Pop finally broke out of his comfort zone just to beat his rival. "Oh, a dance off!" I squealed. "The drama." Sprig added. "C'mon, guys, Hop Pop is gonna need some backup." Anne smiled. Anne was right, we became Hop Pop's backup dancers. "It appears two stallions have taken to the floor and are about to battle it out!" Mayor Toadstool announced. Hop Pop began to dance to the rhythm. "Go Hop Pop!" We cheered. "A solid effort by Hopediah Plantar, but how will Monroe respond?" Mayor Toadstool announced. Monroe started breakdancing and the whole crowd gasped. "Well, looks like that's it for Hopediah." Mayor Toadstool said. "Unless he has something special or unique to show." "Well, we did our best, and isn't that what counts?" Sprig asked. "What kind of loser talk is that?" Polly shouts. "I honestly don't know what to do." Anne said. "Monroe is just a better dancer." "Well, then I guess I'll just have to express myself in my own unique way." Hop Pop replied. Oh crud. "Wait, you don't think he's gonna..." Sprig said. "He's going for the freestyle." I interrupted. "Hop Pop, Hop Pop!" Anne exclaimed. "Sylvia, I don't think I'll ever be able to tell you how I feel about you." Hop Pop explains. "But I can show you, hit it, boys!" The orchestra played as Hop Pop started the freestyle. Sprig, Anne, and Polly covered their eyes. "Is it safe to look yet?" Anne asked. "No idea." Sprig replied. "Couldn't tell you." Polly added. "I saw the whole thing, it was pretty bad." I said. "Well, I think it's clear who the winner is." Monroe bragged. "C'mon, Sylvia, no need to waste time with losers." Hop Pop was about to walk away, when suddenly, Sylvia did a freestyle dance inspired by his. "She's as freaky as he is!" Monroe exclaimed. He joined in as the entire crowd, including me, Anne, Sprig, and Polly, was looking away in disgust. The townsfolk left the dance, except for Sylvia, who was still dancing with Hop Pop. "I don't get it, why?" Hop Pop asked. "I have a soft spot for the weird ones, remember?" Sylvia replied. "Shame the dance is over, I could dance for hours with you." Hop Pop sighed. Sprig pulled out his fiddle and played some classical music. "May I have this dance, Sylvia Sundew?" "Why, yes you may, Hopediah Plantar." She replied as they did a waltz. I watched them dance the night away when suddenly, Anne walked up to me and smiled. "May I have this dance, madam?" Anne asked me. "C'mon, Anne, you know I can't dance." I chuckled as she grabbed my arm and dragged me to the dance floor. She helped me out with my dancing skills as we danced together. Sure, we may have accidentally stepped on each other's toes, but I think this is a night I will never forget.
