《Calamity Falls》Chapter 1

"Daniel is disturbing me" Lee stomped his foot. "Daniel" I called out. "Stop disturbing him. Go play with your toys and please don't fight" I rubbed my temple.
I went upstairs into my room then locked the door and once I was safe, I let it out. "Jace" I screamed unable to hold in the pain within.
"I can't take it anymore Jace. I need you. I miss you. I miss your touch, your laughter, your smile. I miss everything you do. I love you Jace. I freaking love you but now your gone"
Jace's POV
"Being a ghost sucks" I said frustrated but she couldn't hear me.
"How can you see me?" I asked eyeing him. "It's a special ability. My family have been able to see ghosts and help them" he explained.
"See ghosts? Hold up did you say help them?" I asked. "Yes. We help ghosts in one way or the other" he said.
"Ok. So what do I do?" I asked looking at my body which was clothed white. "According to my grandpa, all you have to do is enter your body"
Samuel's POV
'Oh I hope it works'. I looked down at the man's body 'Come on. Please'. In an instant, the man's eyes shot open.
'It worked! Grandpa will be proud' I smiled. "Are you ok? How do you feel?" I asked him.
"I'm ok but who are you? Who am I? And why am I here in a casket?" he asked and I froze.
"Y-You don't r-remember anything?" I gulped.
"Well... No" he said getting up from the casket. He climbed up from the dug hole but I stood there, terrified and slightly confused. "Wow! It's beautiful here" I heard him say making me snap my gaze to him, finding him looking over at the waterfall
I got out of the hole, walking over to the man "Are you sure you can't remember anything? Like your name or..." I asked moving my hands in demonstration. I frowned as he shook his head
"Sorry but no" he frowned looking back at the scenery
I followed his gaze which was still transfixed on the waterfall. I took in a sharp breath 'I have to take him to Grandpa. He'll know what to do'. "I think I know a way in which you can regain your memories" I said. He shrugged, following me as I led the way

We were currently in front of My Grandpa's house. I knocked hurriedly almost breaking the door down. "I'll be right there" he said but I heard him mutter 'The children of these days'. The door opened to reveal my wrinkled old faced Grandpa. The sleeves of his white shirt were rolled up to his elbow as he accompanied the look with a pair of blue denim shorts. His infamous grey haired was packed in a bright red cap
"Hey Grandpa. I need your help" I panicked walking in the house without waiting for a 'Come in'. The man followed me in as well.
"Ok but who is this man?" Grandpa pointed his finger at him.
"That's the problem. I don't know and he doesn't know" I said rubbing my palm on my face as I took a seat
"What do you mean?" Grandpa asked, taking a seat himself.
"Well..." I then proceeded to telling him everything that happened. "Do things like this often happen?" I panicked.
"No and Yes. It happens but not that often. If there were 10 ghosts here, at least 2 out of them would lose their memories after getting back in their bodies" Grandpa explained
"Ok but will they ever regain their memories?" I asked at the edge of my seat. He didn't speak "ANSWER ME GRANDPA" I boomed impatient, startling the man a little.
"Honestly, the chances of him regaining his memory is one to a thousand" he frowned.
"What? No that can't be. There must be a way" I said, my hands shaking slightly out of fear.
"I'm sorry Son. That's how it has been. We can only hope for a miracle" my Grandpa sighed. I rubbed my face
"What will I do now?" I asked
"For starters do you know anyone close to him? Because if we get someone close to him, the chances of him regaining his memory might heighten" he reasoned.
"No but... I always find him moving out of a particular house everyday. And from the looks of it he knew the person living in it and he must be very close to the person judging from his sad facial features when he talked about her" I explained getting a little excited
"Her?" my Grandpa asked.
"Yes. I think he called her Riele..." I thought back to what he said. "I'm not so sure though" I finished.

"We have to try. You can take him to meet the person and from there we'll know what to do" he said.
"Alright Grandpa. I'll take him there right now" I got off my seat beckoning the man as we left Grandpa's house.
We walked for a while till the familiar house came in view. I walked up to the door then knocked it. A little boy opened it "Can I help you?" he asked, his brown hair ruffled on his head
"Umm... Yes, I'd like to see your mother" I said. 'What else would I have said?'
"Ok" he left, closing the door but not before eyeing me. "MOMMY!" the voice of the boy screaming made me shake a little. After a few minutes the door opened to reveal a short brown skinned woman with a stressed face and red puffy eyes, notifying me that she was crying
"What can I do you for?" she asked blowing her nose
"Umm, can I get in first? I need to explain something to you" I said.
"I don't think I can let a stranger in my house, sorry" she moved to close the door but the man behind me spoke making her stop the door
"Why? It's not like we're here to kill you or something" the man behind me said. She opened the door slowly, her eyes brimming with tears
"Who said that?" she closed her eyes for two seconds before opening them again
"Me" the man said coming from where he was stood giving the woman a clearer view of him. Her hands flew to her mouth in shock. She shook her head vigorously as if not wanting to believe it.
"I know you're shocked and maybe confused but I can explain everything to you if you'd let me in" I said gently, afraid of her reaction. She nodded hesitantly, her gaze fixed on the man behind me.
We walked in to find 2 little boys playing with toys all scattered in the living room. "Take a seat. I'll get you some water" she said still looking at the man. She left to what I think was the kitchen
I looked at the kids playing and gasped when I saw one. It was like looking in a mirror, he was the splitting image of the man who sat beside me. I looked at him then at the man beside me to make sure I wasn't mistaken. But I was right, they looked so much alike
"Here's your water" a familiar voice said. The woman took a seat on the opposite chair, after handing me the glass of water and for the man as well, staring at her hands which laid on her laps.
I sighed "I know you're confused right now so let me break it down to you"
I explained everything to her and at the end she had fresh tears in her eyes "So he doesn't remember me?" she asked as I nodded. She walked over to the man who had his eyes fixed on the interior designs
"Hey Jace" she said smiling at him sadly.
"Who?" he asked finally looking at her and I saw her inhale sharply
"You. You're Jace" I said trying hard not to cry. It was like I was dreaming yet it felt so real.
"Oh, then what's yours?" he asked.
"Riele" I whispered looking at him directly in his eyes
"I like it" he said looking at me as well. I looked at the man who brought him
"Now, you're telling me there is no way he can regain his memories?" I asked the guy whose name I learnt was Samuel
"Well, I don't know. Like my Grandpa said the chances are very low but we can only hope for a miracle" he sighed. "I am deeply sorry" he said.
"You have nothing to be sorry about. It's not your fault, you were just helping and I admire you for that" I offered a small smile
"Thank you. I'll be on my way now. In case there are any possibilities, I'll let you know" he got off the chair then left the house.
"Mom. The food is ready" Mary said walking out of the kitchen but immediately stopped in her tracks. "Dad?" she gasped.
He looked at her confused "Who's that?" he asked.
"What?" she said, barely audible
"I'll explain everything to you later but right now let's go eat" I said gathering everyone to the diner table. 'Why is this always happening to me?'
A/N: Ok, I know you're all mad at me rn😔🙈
