as changbin and felix were walking, hand in hand, through the large crowds, they found jisung and minho taking a break from chasing one another.
"hey, how have the rides been?" jisung asked excitedly.
"good," felix said shyly, worried that somehow jisung would know that he and changbin had kissed.
"why do you look so weird?" jisung asked as he examined felix's face.
changbin stifled a laugh, knowing felix tends to get awkward after kissing when he then has to face his friends. minho caught on to why changbin was laughing and a small grin began to appear on his face.
"i-i don't look weird, w-what are you talking about?" felix stuttered out.
"oh please, we saw you two kiss." minho scoffed.
"you saw? did everyone see? don't tell anyone, please!" felix begged, making changbin's heart sink.
does he regret it? changbin wondered.
"well we didn't see, but now we know it happened." minho smirked as he placed his arm over jisung's shoulders.
"wait," jisung looked from changbin to felix, "kiss? you two? now?"
"on the ferris wheel, but don't tell the others pleaseeee! changbin and i still aren't dating and i don't want anyone to think i'm using him or something." felix explained, relieving the stress changbin had briefly felt.
changbin grabbed on tightly to felix's hand once again, and squeezed a little to give him some reassurance.
"no one would think that felix, they know you still have feelings for me." changbin stated.
"yeah, we don't care that you two aren't official. you are pretty much official in everyone else's mind besides your own." jisung said to the two boys who laughed in response.
"of course we are." changbin nodded, "one day we will be official again.

"hm, you're very patient." minho said, making changbin cock an eyebrow at him.
"how so?" changbin asked curiously.
"i guess i'm just a bit more possessive. i like the title of being together for reassurance on how the latter feels. i don't see the point in dating without a label, it just feels like the other person is either ashamed or not that interested if they want something like that." as minho said this, felix felt a sinking feeling in his chest. he felt guilty for not officially being with changbin.
"but with felix and i it's different." changbin said, "you see, i hurt felix... really... really badly. i don't deserve a quick forgiveness or a title with him. i don't even truly deserve a second chance, but he is giving me one anyway. i know he still has feelings for me, he has always made that very obvious. now i just have to make him realize he still loves me."
"i think he knows he still loves you." jisung said looking at the blush that had formed on felix's cheeks.
felix hid behind changbin, burying his face into the latter's back so he didn't have to face his friends.
"i hope so," changbin smiled fondly thinking about the possibility of felix still being in love with him, "but he just has to trust me enough to be able to say it."
"that's a good point, if i didn't trust minho i would have never told him i love him." jisung stated, and felix finally came out of hiding to rejoin the conversation.
"how long did it take you to trust minho?" felix asked.
"i've always trusted him. i know he would never intentionally hurt me and he would never leave me without a good reason. minho loves me and i am sure of that, probably as sure as you are about changbin loving you.

you do trust changbin, if that's what you're wondering felix. he has taken care of you all this time without any of us even realizing it. we were all so cruel to changbin but never even bothered to ask what he was going through.
you were hurting the most in that situation, felix, there's no doubt in my mind about that, but changbin was also hurting, i just think it took us all some time to realize that." jisung for once decided to act serious, closing off his childish side just for a moment.
"jisung, you sounded like a completely different person there for a second." changbin said in shock from the latter's words.
"that is how jisung acts around me, he's not just a little happy pill for the group, he's actually very smart and mature when he wants to be." minho kissed the top of jisung's head, pulling him close in his arms.
"i don't know if i was hurting more than changbin to be honest... i don't know how much he has told all of you, but what he told me... that hurts and i would never want someone to hurt the way changbin is hurting." felix said as he looked over at changbin with a sweet smile, "i'm sorry you were hurting and i didn't realize. from now on i will pay more attention to your feelings as well as my own. i do love you chang--" felix stopped, throwing a hand over his mouth once he realized what he had said.
"i mean... i do love you changing yourself for me, but you're not really changing at all. you claim to be, but you were always this kind to me. trust me!"
"felix, just say." changbin shook his head, knowing what felix corrected himself with was not what he was truly going to say.
"fine, iloveyou..." felix mumbled like it was all one word.
"oh my god, we're witnessing a changlix i love you for the first time in like a century." jisung whispered to minho, resorting back to his immature ways. '
"sh!" minho hit the latter, trying to listen in on the conversation.
"you what? sorry i didn't catch that." changbin smiled as he cupped his ear and leaned towards felix.
felix reached over, cupping his hands around changbin's ears and whispered, "i love you, seo changbin."
changbin quickly turned his head, stealing a kiss from felix's plump lips before he could pull away from him.
felix's eyes went wide and jisung and minho laughed at the boy's reaction.
"i love you bokkie." changbin said.
"i love you too..." felix mumbled, hiding his face in his hands.
"well i'm glad you two are in a good place again." minho smiled, genuinely meaning what he had said.
"me too." changbin let out a sigh of relief before attacking felix into a tight back hug, "now i will never let you escape."

The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.

Directorate: Nationbuilding in Apocalypse
A nation is just a means of survival. Metro Manila fell within 5 months of the first report of cannibalism. Once a hyperurbanized region of 15 million inhabitants, it's been reduced to a dead, greenless shell. Most of the infected had since left to ravage the countryside. The central government was nowhere to be found. Among the survivors who clung to the few gardens and humble plots of arable land left, one of them finds evidence that the slaughter wasn't going to just end with the first wave. Without a nation and a wall of guns, everyone will die. Directorate is an original nationbuilding webnovel that focuses on the gradual rise to power of a select few individuals, and the subsequent unification of the survivors of a devastated Metro Manila.
